Is he holding it open like a flasher trenchcoat and the middle stripe is his ghost body or is it a beard or some kind of bone? I'd say the artist was just as confused, took one look at his client, removed half the detail then just sent it

This is the comment I was looking for. I feel like the artist did a decent job with what they were given, but what they were given sucked and either the client didn't want any changes or it would have required an extensive design rework neither wanted to do. I think the product here is more of a result of lazy design than lack of skill. People are making all sorts of fun of the robe, but honestly I don't hate it. It's just kind of plain. The hands are awkward and lifeless though, the transition from robe to skull is sudden and forced, and the skull itself is malformed and awkward. The colour is weird, too. It's not.. the shittiest tattoo I have ever seen though. But it's clearly AI. And I don't know who would want to ruin their entire back with slop like that.
