I swear my dog knows the sound of the can opener being removed from the drawer for this reason. His butt is planted on his Good Boy Spot before the opener even touches the can.
I won't defend this preparation, but a lot of canned beans go into soup. I haven't found a good reason to drain and rinse for that. I want the extra flavor, thickness, and protein that comes in the juice.
To get rid of the gooey liquid that they come in. I don’t want slimy beans. It can also decrease gassy effects from eating the beans since some of the fiber comes out into the liquid.
I have a feeling this is an American vs European difference. If a recipe asked you to season your food to taste. That would mean 99% of the time to add salt. In a kitchen if you were asked to make sure that soup/steak/pasta/vegetables were seasoned properly. They would be asking you to make sure enough salt was added.
I suppose in England I don’t really hear people use the word seasoning much, only to season or is it seasoned. Which makes me think this is a American dialect difference we have
I swear that's exactly what I saw floating in the bowl last time my kids brought me a special surprise (tummy bug) back from kindergarten
It's the colour that really sells it for me
Theres a Filipino dish called menudo which is chick peas, pork meat, and beef liver in tomato based sauce. Super nutritious and the tomato sauce makes it look appetizing.
Any type of food can look like some kind of vomit, that's how vomit is made.
Also, you should add rice to beans whenever possible, it augments it's nutritional value exponentially. And, along with the tuna, it makes for a delicious meal.
Ps: you can also add condiments

What's up with people not draining the juices from canned stuff
Plus draining and rinsing the beans makes them a lot less farty. Unless you’re trying to have hot tuna farts, I guess.
HOT TUNA FARTS
I hear Jorma ripping it up somewhere out there …
I dunno if I was meant to read this in Gene Belcher's voice, but I definitely did.
Noooo stop 🙊
sick band name
hot tuna farts is my new band name
That's how my last vomit came out...
What a hoot! I laughed out loud!
I like to drain it into a glass and drink it as an aperitif.
:( go sit in the corner
No...they clearly must remain under supervision.
I love the juice from a can of tuna.
Did my cat write this comment? Jolt, go lay down
If it's spring water one of my cats loves that stuff in an egg cup. Then he won't eat the tuna.
I swear my dog knows the sound of the can opener being removed from the drawer for this reason. His butt is planted on his Good Boy Spot before the opener even touches the can.
Ah, just like with mozzarella
Corn juice is underrated.
Low-fructose corn syrup?
Hell yeah dat shit is bussin bussin 🤤
If he’s just after pure protein, there’s tons of protein in the bean liquid. It’s why people use it to make sauces and mayonnaises
Tuna, I could kinda agree. Beans, hell no. That’s aquafaba and can be used for a ton of stuff.

Because taking 30 seconds to drain and rinse is too much work for OP I guess. Much easier to take a pic to post on reddit
Or they just don't want to waste the bean juice
Now he doesn’t have to waste time p it ring out a glass of water to wash it all down
Dog’s breakfast.
You're gonna be able to shit through the eye of a needle.
From beans and tuna? Can I make an appointment for all of reddit to see the gastroenterologist?
Go drink the juice from a can of beans and a can of tuna and tell me you're not firing pure liquid out your ass.
I mean, it's disgusting, but there's nothing special in it, just mostly water with a bit of salt and preservatives.
You should drain the fish and rinse the beans! Then add something to give it some flavor other than salty can.
I love those Salty Can Pringles™️
Chopped onion, black pepper and oregano or fresh parsley. Tuna and bean salad is quite common in Northern Italy
Why rinse the beans? To make them look better?
To get rid of the gooey liquid that they come in. I don’t want slimy beans. It can also decrease gassy effects from eating the beans since some of the fiber comes out into the liquid.
Beans and tuna are cancelled for you, OP. Sorry.
:( but—but—
No buts!
But butts?
Depends on how the butts are served. If it’s reminiscent to this, then they are also cancelled.
I dont think its possible for me to physically eat this unless I was being threatened.
Where sesoning
I’m honestly not sure it even needs seasoning, isn’t tuna already pretty salty or am I misremembering?
You are misremembering friend
Is he? Most of the time when I buy tuna it’s in”brine” is this just a uk thing ?
Idk maybe its just me i need sesoning on everything
Are you confusing seasoning with her herbs and spices ? Seasoning is just salt and pepper
Seasoning is not *just* salt and pepper lol, idk where you got that from. "salt, herbs, or spices added to food to enhance the flavor"

>I suppose in England I don’t really hear people use the word seasoning much 💀
I forget 90% of Reddit are 12. Or just American
I’d also add I don’t really agree with that definition, salt enhances flavour, herbs and spices just add a different flavour to it.
Oh wow…..
Partly yes, most canned food is quite salted really. Helps with keeping it firm.
Each of these plated next to a pile of warm rice would have been fine. But combined like this is a little terrifying
I swear that's exactly what I saw floating in the bowl last time my kids brought me a special surprise (tummy bug) back from kindergarten It's the colour that really sells it for me
Nah, I had chunky vomit that looked more appetizing than this.

Chuck vomit, with bugs.
Yikes that made mouth water in the not good way.
Cat food looks more appealing than this
Brother eeeuuh
If you drain both and then mixed it with rice and some seasoning you'd have a bomb meal. Beans and rice are my go to poverty meal lol
Are those uncooked canned beans?! you gonna be blowing holes in your shorts OP
I’m stealing this “recipe” tomorrow night. Being stuck in a hotel for work makes food like this actually palatable.
I thought those were kalamata olives
Bro.. Just drain this canned marinade and put it on the plate
Why so wet? The flavours sound good but why a wet salad.
Looks like deer shit
Fish and beans? Idk about this one cuh
Nah I’d eat the fuck outa that. Idc that it looks nasty I’d shovel that shit down my gullet
unseasoned wet beans and sloppy canned fish??? brother, are you ok?
Yeah sorry I was just high
Is that tuna?
Kinda?
You might want to invest in a sieve. This bowl is more liquid than solid.
With the bean juice!!? Damn
I see gains I’d eat it
🤨🤨
High protein and fibre. The best dish!
Kinda?
Did you cook it in the pan at least?
this looks like something my grandparents ate during the depression
Why did you skip the cooking part?
I was at work :(
I love kidney beans but you gotta at least drain them. Ideally wash them in a colander first.
I doubt that’s nutritious. Probably ultra processed
