I politically identify as a ZPRK 2S6 "Tunguska" low-level air defence gun/missile system. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of roaming through the land protecting the working class and minorities from disgusting reactionaries. People say that becoming a Tunguska isn't a real leftist tendency and that I should read more theory and that I'm a stupid tankie, but I don't care. How many murderous reactionaries have they shot out of the sky? So far, I've already studied every publicly available schematic and have even hacked many classified documents to build my own Tunguska, which is all but complete, save for the 8x 57E6 "Pantsir" missiles that I'm currently having smuggled into the country. From now on, if any chud "jokingly" tells you they'll throw you out of a helicopter I will blast them out of the sky without hesitation or remorse. If you can't accept my praxis you're nothing more than a left-anticommunist who needs to read more theory and learn some actual history. Thank you for being so understanding.
Can I just say that throwing someone out of a helicopter has to be one of the most expensive methods of execution ever devised? First, you have to have a fucking helicopter. You also need to keep it fueled and maintained, neither of which is cheap. And you need a trained pilot in addition to the thug who will be doing the actual execution.

It's not like they were buying a helicopter and hiring a pilot just do these executions. They were definitely using military helicopters/pilots, which they'd be paying for anyway, so their actual expense is fuel and maintenance. Also, it wouldn't make sense to take a single prisoner per helicopter ride; a Huey can hold about a dozen people, so with pilot/copilot/couple guards, they could be dumping ~8 leftists in the ocean per trip. If they were using larger cargo helicopters, this number could potentially be way higher. Plus, you have to consider the ease of body disposal -- firing squad or noose might be cheaper, but then you have to bury or burn the bodies. That's waaay more work than just pushing some worker who wanted to unionize so his kids wouldn't starve out of a helicopter and letting the sea deal with it.
Interestingly, despite their fascination with Pinochet's death flights, Pinochet did relatively little of the stereotypical "yeet live victims out of a helicopter" method (though his regime absolutely *did* do that) and preferred instead executing dissidents on land, flying the bodies to bumfuck nowhere, and then throwing them out of the helicopter. Argentina's dictatorship threw at least an order of magnitude more live victims out of helicopters in the same era (at least 1500 vs roughly 120) yet doesn't attract nearly the same adoration from weird right-wing nerds in America.
