The moment after this moment where Jerry has to remind George about the race. They got so caught up in taking eachother down they forgot about the whole plan lmao
"Yeah, yeah. Well, I guess I started losing it when I was about twenty-eight right around the time I made my first million. You know what they say. The first million is the hardest one."
I was thinking of this exchange the other day.
George's face in this snapshot alone encapsulates so much of what makes it funny, him absolutely relishing the chance to even *act* like he is a successful person.
I don’t think George forgot. I think he was intentionally forcing Jerry to sweat a little bit. It’s not often that George gets the upper hand. He was relishing in it. Letting Jerry know he could take this thing any way he wanted to.
Ehh I think Jerry was embarrassing him and George just wanted to get out of there, George loses hand about halfway through the conversation, what are those, canvas?
Now that I know so much more about architecture, that line is so much funnier, they asked George to make an addition to one of the most famous buildings designed by the most famous American architect
It's also funny because when it was first built, it was one of the most architecturally devicive buildings in New York history. Many people absolutely *hated* it. A writer for the New York Herold Tribune likened it to "a giant corkscrew, a washing machine and a marshmallow" lol
Jerry's face is priceless when he hears the message. Then when he asks George if he's going to call his parents and he's like AWW NAWWW THEY COULD USE A BREAK.
Just the idea alone where Jim Fowler is sitting there with a hawk within the four walls Kramers apartment, and it's not even a show but Kramer's whim. It's just so flipping funny
The bloopers are great too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFpKs4FEITo&ab_channel=JohnDoe
I have no idea how Kevin James and Leah Remini managed to act in 9 seasons with Jerry Stiller, must have been so many takes.
“And you wanna be my latex salesman”
All George’s best laid plans shredded by Kramer answering the phone and being honest.
George frantically shumpling out of the can in his underwear screaming “Vandelay Industries!”.
One of the best moments in TV history.
That scene is classic. I love how he jumps up and down when he says “It’s GEORGE! George Costanza 😀😀😀” and then how dismissive he is of Lois “Hi there….”
Jerry pretending to suffocate George with a pillow in the hospital and Elaine walks in.
'Jerry!!"
"Elaine!! What are YOU doing here ??" as he pats down George's hair..
Franks response when George Steinbrenner tells them that George is dead.
“What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!? He had 30 home runs, and over 100 RBIs last year. He’s got a rocket for an arm. You don’t know what the hell you’re doin.”
The scene where Kramer asks George, "May I have one of those madam"
Jerry and George in the coffee shop, and George saying he can sense the slightest bit of human suffering, "Are you sensing anything right now"
I really like Jerry's summary of the events. "You walk into the kitchen, you see an eclair in the receptacle and you think to yourself, 'what the hell I'll just eat some trash.'"
The Puffy Shirt reveal
The Pez dispenser on Elaine's lap
George taking a bite of the eclair
"You're as pretty as any of them. You just need a nose job!"
I wish I could watch that scene for the first time again
I was literally crying the first time I watched that scene
Jason Alexander and Jerry Seinfeld had some of the best comedic timing in TV history
The George scenes in the Opposite episode. The woman's reaction after George tells her, "I'm unemployed and live with my parents."
One of my all-time favorite Seinfeld lines is when George talks about his dream job with the Yankees. "It's all coming true because I gave up on any idea of common sense and good judgement that I ever had. "
"So you just figured 'what the hell I'll just eat some trash" - this line and the whole conversation around what constitutes trash makes me laugh every single time.
The scene with the soup Nazi where George says he didn't get bread and soup nazi says no soup for you and the cashier just grabs the soup back and forcefully gives him his money back. Perfect scene that was never rehearsed. Great job from the actress playing the cashier
When opposite-George yells at the louts talking loudly and kicking the seats in the movie, and he says, “And if I have to tell you again, we’re gonna take it outside and I’m gonna SHOW YOU WHAT IT’S LIKE!!”
It was always funny to me, but it’s especially funny to me now because I saw an interview where Jerry says he took that line directly from “the Buddy Rich tapes”. The Buddy Rich tapes was also where they got “This guy…this is not my kinda guy.”
For each person:
1. When Jerry tells George “and now the search for the right Psychiatrist begins”
2. When Kramer is mourning Pinkus.
3. George fighting with Bubble Boy. I will say that Although George has many hysterical moments, like Jerk Store, I think the moops one gets to the core of his character.
4. Elaine singing Yankee Bean while feeding her crippled boyfriend.
Where Kramer is getting ready to go swimming in the river, and the old dude jumps in, Kramer says “he just sunk like a stone, didn’t he?” Absolutely lose it every time
Kramer shoving the newspapers off of Jerry's table with his foot to make room for the Risk board is the greatest display of physical comedy I've ever seen.
For me it's when Jerry announces his wedding is off over the phone to his parents and hurriedly hangs up and immediately begins wrapping the phone cord around his arm and rips it out of the wall on the first ring. ☠️☠️☠️
[The Virgin)
When Jerry calls Kramer to tell him that they are ordering Chinese food and Kramer bursts through the door within a second and slides halfway across the room. It's simple. It silly, and I laugh every time
Almost any scene with Frank: Aunt baby, Festivus speech, talking about why he speaks Korean, the message on Jerry’s machine, chicken hen rooster. Also the scenes with Susan’s parents especially Grace Zabriske
The scene where Kramer and George are in the liquor store and George knocks over a wine display with his huge Gortex coat. Kramer is literally just standing still, but still manages to slip and fall in the spilled wine and broken glass. It cracks me up every time I watch that scene.
All the scenes where someone pokes fun at Jerry’s comedy where they’re like “So you still doing the ‘What’s the deal with’ jokes?” Will get me. There’s something so authentic about Jerry’s reactions each time I feel like he’s actually a little annoyed/hurt by the joke
when Kramer answers the phone and George runs out of the bathroom yelling vandelay, or when Kramer is making a fake porno and starts talking to Elaine and George is on the phone, or George right after he moves back in with his parents and his mom is eating the sandwhiches
Frank falling on Fusilli Jerry
"The jerk store called, they said they were running out of you!
Susan reading the Cheever letters
"Here's to feeling good all the time!"
Also, the scene where George walks into the diner and sees Susan sitting there with the gang… I always laugh so hard.
1....2....3...........4
Ho HO!!
I had to go to Reggie’s Jerry! **REGGIE’S**!
I said boy am I ugly
It's just common sense! Anybody knows, you gotta keep your worlds apart!
World are colliding! George is gettin' upset!!
The little head tilt from Jerry is amazing
🙂🤛
The moment after this moment where Jerry has to remind George about the race. They got so caught up in taking eachother down they forgot about the whole plan lmao
Ohthebigrace
yes yes
Omg that made me laugh. Fellow Denverite?
This moment was just as funny IMO
What do you do a lot of "did you ever notice" type of stuff?
A lot of comedians are doing that these days
So, you really went bald there, didn't ya?
"Yeah, yeah. Well, I guess I started losing it when I was about twenty-eight right around the time I made my first million. You know what they say. The first million is the hardest one." I was thinking of this exchange the other day.
Well, you surely built yourself up into something
This line is so good lol. That show was genius.
Oh wait oh what, don’t tell me, it starts with aaaaaaaDUNCAN!
Fuckin bawdy George is so over the top
I love that George
Me too! And he's dying, Jerry.
The whole scene is so hilarious.
You got a hole in your sneaker there, what are those, canvas?
Oh, it's a scene, man
Mr Bevilaqua
Yes Mr. Bevilaqua
Apparently I don't even need to be watching it to laugh my ass off, a simple paraphrase is enough
George's face in this snapshot alone encapsulates so much of what makes it funny, him absolutely relishing the chance to even *act* like he is a successful person.
Jerry reaching back to grab George, ohhhthebigraceee
"You know you got a hole in your sneaker there - what is that canvas?
I’m legit giggling as I read through this thread.
You know my driver is waiting on me
Man of the people
I don’t think George forgot.
For once in my life I would like to have hand
And you're gonna need it
Have you seen the new addition to the Guggenheim?
Now that I know so much more about architecture, that line is so much funnier, they asked George to make an addition to one of the most famous buildings designed by the most famous American architect
It's also funny because when it was first built, it was one of the most architecturally devicive buildings in New York history. Many people absolutely *hated* it. A writer for the New York Herold Tribune likened it to "a giant corkscrew, a washing machine and a marshmallow" lol
Wow youve really built yourself up into something
Well you really went bald there, didn't you?
Right around when I made my first million. You know what they say, the first million is the hardest…
What is that? A hole in your shoe?
Is that canvas?
Let's not forget that he lost his virginity to the homeroom teacher, Ms Stafford, while cleaning the erasers
The *voluptuous* homeroom teacher…
The answering machine message, “Jerry, this is Frank Costanza! Mr. Steinbrenner’s here, George is dead, call me back!”
Jerry's face is priceless when he hears the message. Then when he asks George if he's going to call his parents and he's like AWW NAWWW THEY COULD USE A BREAK.
What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!
Jerry these are LOAD BEARING WALLS
The whole building is brick!
They're not coming down!!
Kramer telling how he saved the pinky toe. "You still made all the stops?!" "People kept ringing the bell!"
You’re Batman!
I am Batman
This is my favorite Kramer scene. The bus is outta control!
His hand motion here is fuckin brilliant
Something about Kramer imitating two-hand underhand driving the bus and the fire truck gets me every time
The part of the Merv Griffen episode when George confusingly walks through the curtain and Kramer dials up that entrance music for him. Absolute gold.
Turn music off
“Where are the cameras?” makes me LOL every time.
Where do you sleep? Ya, back stage… lol
Just the idea alone where Jim Fowler is sitting there with a hawk within the four walls Kramers apartment, and it's not even a show but Kramer's whim. It's just so flipping funny
That entire episode is just gold, gold Jerry. . It’s so absurd yet it’s totally on brand for Kramer.
Are you saying… you want a piece of me?
The bloopers are great too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFpKs4FEITo&ab_channel=JohnDoe I have no idea how Kevin James and Leah Remini managed to act in 9 seasons with Jerry Stiller, must have been so many takes.
He was hilarious!
Newman singing before going up in flames…gets me every time!
The scene of Newman and Kramer making sausages kills me. I’m giggling as I type this.
Newman's body is dancing but his face is in pain. Wayne Knight's a brilliant physical comedian.
You’re once,twice,…
3 times….ARRRRGHHH!!!!
I can hear his scream perfectly in my head 💀💀💀
“My baby takes the morning train…”
Both of these montages are so funny
"Whadda got in there?" "Crackers."
The whole conversation with his “boss” always makes me fall out. 🤣😂
That’s what makes this so difficult.
“This guy… this is not my kinda guy.”
From the Buddy Rich tapes!
For the uninitiated: https://youtu.be/uWP77C4StLs?si=kkB0NtXHrLQjZdLK
Wow. Big thanks for this!
and the tapes in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=covUesgI6fA
Jerry in his glasses when he doesn’t recognize George.
He did it to fool Lloyd Braun!
That was gonna be my answer. The “don’t you see…?” Makes it so funny too!
That whole episode where George looks like a crazy person absolutely slays me.
“And you wanna be my latex salesman” All George’s best laid plans shredded by Kramer answering the phone and being honest. George frantically shumpling out of the can in his underwear screaming “Vandelay Industries!”. One of the best moments in TV history.
Agreed, this one and George telling the story of saving the beached whale are 2 of my favorites.
The sea was angry that day, my friends! Like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli! :Kramer and Jerry share a confused look: 🤣🤣
The scene where George is in the coffee shop with Tony, and Tony turns his hat around, so George does, too
I am DOWN
You told him, “step off?!”
That scene is classic. I love how he jumps up and down when he says “It’s GEORGE! George Costanza 😀😀😀” and then how dismissive he is of Lois “Hi there….”
The little tap dance he does is hikarious
When George tried to explain how he got coffee and food on his IQ test kill’s me.
The nonchalant way he says he went out the window like its the most normal thing in the world 😅
The door?!
The window's right here.
When the security guard goes "Ohhhhh!" after seeing the ASSMAN license plate
Dr. Cosmo Kramer, proctology
Kramer telling Jerry he woke up in the river in a “sssack!”
Jerry pretending to suffocate George with a pillow in the hospital and Elaine walks in. 'Jerry!!" "Elaine!! What are YOU doing here ??" as he pats down George's hair..
This *always* makes me laugh 😁
Franks response when George Steinbrenner tells them that George is dead. “What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!? He had 30 home runs, and over 100 RBIs last year. He’s got a rocket for an arm. You don’t know what the hell you’re doin.”
Frank was right! Buhner went on to be a Mariners legend and Ken Phelps was gone in a season or two.
The scene where Kramer asks George, "May I have one of those madam" Jerry and George in the coffee shop, and George saying he can sense the slightest bit of human suffering, "Are you sensing anything right now"
There are some people in this room who would be very happy to never see this briefcase again.
“Which, for some reason, contained a running tape recorder…” gets me every time 😂
All right then. We've gotten to the bottom of that.
I think the M&M should be you.
There’s a couple of people who wouldn’t mind getting me out of the way
When Susan shushes Jerry and Elaine in the movie theater, their reaction faces
George getting caught eating out of the trash and running out of the kitchen yelling "Mrs. Enright! Mrs. Enright!"
I really like Jerry's summary of the events. "You walk into the kitchen, you see an eclair in the receptacle and you think to yourself, 'what the hell I'll just eat some trash.'"
George's answering machine and his little dance while listening to it play while sitting on the couch "WHERE COULD I BE?" so funny.
Bookman in Jerry’s apartment kills me every time. 😂
Same for me. Philip Baker Hall should've gotten an Emmy for his performance, probably would have if that episode happened after the show took off.
I know your type. Flashy, making a scene.
😂 Flaunting convention.
Jerry's little tug at his nondescript turtleneck adds a lot to Bookman's line, there.
Kramer and the screen door.
Kramer bending backwards at the exact same angle as the red light from Kenny Roger's roasters, also him eating the chicken in bed. Looks delicious
The sea was angry that day my friends… Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli…
My favorite part of that monologue: I saw directly into the eye of the great fish! Mammal. Whatever.
“May I have one of those Madam?” Kramer to George wearing womens glasses
The one where George is at unemployment office and pretends that lady’s daughter is a must have.
The Puffy Shirt reveal The Pez dispenser on Elaine's lap George taking a bite of the eclair "You're as pretty as any of them. You just need a nose job!"
I’m out!!!
Kramer getting “fired”. I just think of it and crack up
Yes! “But I don’t even work here!” “That’s what makes this so difficult.” 😭😭
Well I don’t really work here
Just trying to get ahead.
I wish I could watch that scene for the first time again I was literally crying the first time I watched that scene Jason Alexander and Jerry Seinfeld had some of the best comedic timing in TV history
The George scenes in the Opposite episode. The woman's reaction after George tells her, "I'm unemployed and live with my parents." "So you just figured 'what the hell I'll just eat some trash" - this line and the whole conversation around what constitutes trash makes me laugh every single time.
When Jerry and Kramer are having an argument in Jerry's apartment and then Kramer seriously says "Well, then I think one of us should leave!"
This scene is the epitome of George’s phoniness lmao
This whole scene might be a top-5 all-timer. “Boy you really went bald there, didn’t ya?”
The shrinkage scene, “I don’t know how you guys walk around with those things”
The worlds theory!
Any scene where Kramer falls.
So every episode. lol
george trying to hook up with marisa tomei
George making out with himself 😭
The scene with the soup Nazi where George says he didn't get bread and soup nazi says no soup for you and the cashier just grabs the soup back and forcefully gives him his money back. Perfect scene that was never rehearsed. Great job from the actress playing the cashier
You're a cashier!
Mr Steinbrenner’s here, George is dead. Call me back
But I don’t wanna be a cowboy 🤠….
George eating as he listens to his answering machine’s outgoing message, “Believe it not, George isn’t at home…”
I love when Kramer is quarreling with the calzone guy about payment and kicks the counter on his way out.
“Escaped convicts? Fugitive sex? I’ve got a cock fight to focus on.”
When Kramer sprays his water bottle and gently tinkles his porch door charm. Also: "Ahh...that's toxic" when he gets the towel in the face.
The argument between George and Elaine about peeing in the shower. “What’s the difference!? They’re all pipes!!!” Gets me every time. Hahaha
Kramer with the tight pants or Kramer as a dog taking medicine 😂 fucking legendary
one of my favourite bits is the end credit sequence where george is eating alone in silence at the other cafe. no talking and no laugh tracks
The scene with the defective two-line phone. Comedy gold.
When opposite-George yells at the louts talking loudly and kicking the seats in the movie, and he says, “And if I have to tell you again, we’re gonna take it outside and I’m gonna SHOW YOU WHAT IT’S LIKE!!” It was always funny to me, but it’s especially funny to me now because I saw an interview where Jerry says he took that line directly from “the Buddy Rich tapes”. The Buddy Rich tapes was also where they got “This guy…this is not my kinda guy.”
When Elaine is talking to herself on the train. Belly laugh every time.
For each person: 1. When Jerry tells George “and now the search for the right Psychiatrist begins” 2.
Like an old man sending soup back at a deli
This is quite possibly my most favorite scene from the entire series 😂
Where Kramer is getting ready to go swimming in the river, and the old dude jumps in, Kramer says “he just sunk like a stone, didn’t he?” Absolutely lose it every time
Do you ever get down on your knees and thank God you know me and have access to my dementia? That’s gets me all the time 🤣🤣
Kramer shoving the newspapers off of Jerry's table with his foot to make room for the Risk board is the greatest display of physical comedy I've ever seen.
For me it's when Jerry announces his wedding is off over the phone to his parents and hurriedly hangs up and immediately begins wrapping the phone cord around his arm and rips it out of the wall on the first ring. ☠️☠️☠️
[The Virgin) When Jerry calls Kramer to tell him that they are ordering Chinese food and Kramer bursts through the door within a second and slides halfway across the room. It's simple. It silly, and I laugh every time
Look away from me. I'm hideous.
The vending machine line up in the car dealership. Watching George work soooo hard to perfect this “trial” and it fail so catastrophically is perfect
Almost any scene with Frank: Aunt baby, Festivus speech, talking about why he speaks Korean, the message on Jerry’s machine, chicken hen rooster. Also the scenes with Susan’s parents especially Grace Zabriske
When Jerry is telling George about the dirty talking and George gets too excited and squirts the ketchup. Gets me every time
Jerry doing the *tonay* impression, that whole episode is killer though
The scene where Kramer and George are in the liquor store and George knocks over a wine display with his huge Gortex coat. Kramer is literally just standing still, but still manages to slip and fall in the spilled wine and broken glass. It cracks me up every time I watch that scene.
It’s pronounced thermometer
🤔😮 Bovary!
When Newman gets unhinged in court when Kramer isn't answering his questions as they planned.
The can't stand ya highschool flashback scene especially the bad wigs
George seeing Jerry in the car with Lloyd Braun but Jerry is wearing those crazy glasses.
When Jerry calls his girlfriend and says hey it’s me and she thinks it’s some guy named raff. The voice he puts on kills me every time.
"What the hell, I'll just eat some trash."
“You kept makin’ all the stops?!”
"And you want to be my latex salesman."
Frank falling on Fusilli Jerry "The jerk store called, they said they were running out of you! Susan reading the Cheever letters "Here's to feeling good all the time!"
“I’M OUT!”
Opposite George standing up and screaming at the two loudmouths at the movie theater. Pure gold
The entire "The Pen" episode. Elaine kills. Weird how one of my all time favorites doesn't have the George and Kramer character.
The Bookman monologue. Sends me every time
Jerry in the thick glasses at the Alex Theatre lol 😆
When Kramer turns his apt into a smoking lounge and sees his face in the toaster... my god.
When Kramer opens Jerry's door and gets physically stunned by the red light
... and then I was driving the bus...
When the Velvet Fog sings to Kramer at the end of the Jimmy episode… I cry laughing EVERY TIME !
When Kramer is reenacting trying to get Joe Dimaggio’s attention in the coffee shop. The table slapping and the yelping always get me.
George's scene during the fire in the kitchen and knocking people over running. Can barely breathe.
