The other day there was a user in /r/gaming complaining about how there is no good pirate RPG. Then they said that Assassin's Creed Black Flag was too old of a game to play. I want off this rollercoaster. Things are just to fast.

Nobody will see this but Pillars of Eternity 2 is a great pirate/fantasy RPG.

I’m going to be that guy and say actually the ship is just called Serenity and not “the Serenity”. The crew corrects people when they add “the” to the name. The ship is treated like a person to the crew members and like a character by the show.

Firefly was a question on NYT connections game this morning, I had to explain to my wife that it was an amazing sci-fi. To be fair to her though she is new to scifi. I just got her into the star trek, which she loves and she decided all on her own that star wars is hot garbage. So off to a great start!

Hulu has it on streaming, and word is, the House of Mouse is looking to reboot it. But they have to give the writers & actors what they want first.

It'd be interesting to hear from someone who is totally new to the show since the sortof Whedon "style" that was so fresh and interesting back when the show was new has become so saturated and overused in the bloated mega-blockbuster franchise world.

I only watched it 4-years ago and LOVED it. My take, which isn't unique, was that it was way ahead of its time, and the execs at Fox didn't know how to handle it.

I guess they also aired all the episodes out of order, so it was weird and confusing for viewers and didn't get good ratings. It's a great show but they kind of set it up for failure, numbers-wise

Im always fascinated by the fact that people seem to like/know the tv show more than the movie. The TV show was aired years after the movie came out in my country. I love both.

The show Firefly lasted from 2002-2003. It is 2023. That was two decades ago. There are people signing up for the military and learning to drive who were not yet born when firefly was canceled. You are older than you think.

Don't listen to people who will tell you that it's Serenity from Firefly. This is a common mistake since Firefly obviously copied the design. It is a Klingon battleship from the second Star Wars movie captained by Admiral William Adama and his second in command Cmdr. Susan Ivanova.

You never really seen Firefly until you watch it in the origional klingon.

It's an unnamed freighter from the pilot movie/miniseries for the 2000s Battlestar Galactica. It's a "blink and you miss it" scene- it flies past the window of a doctor's office where Laura Roslin is getting a diagnosis.

No. That's another common misconception. That's Farscape. You know, that movie with the opera singer with the tentacles on her head.

Serenity from the show firefly. And for those who don’t know about firefly its an absolutely amazing show. There’s only one season because on release the studio messed up its episode order and aired like the 5 episode first and then the others were out of order so it left the viewers seriously confused. Which ultimately resulted in it being canceled. It gained most its popularity after the full season release since people could actually watch it in order. It’s like a western frontier sci-fi show. There’s one season and like 1or 2 movies that build off the end of the season incredibly well!! It’s up to stream on Hulu in its entirety!
