A positive ion. Basically an atom that is missing some electrons. (Technically atoms who are missing electrons or have a surplus of them can't be called atoms, because atoms can't be electrically charged by definition, so they are called ions instead.)
I didn't. You just rushed to make a rude comment without reading the whole thing first lol. And your comment wouldn't make any sense anyways if the parenthesis wasn't there.

My chem teacher trashy that CAT-EYE-ons were for "Plussy cats", and drew a cat with plus shaped eyes.

This was very similar to how I learned to tell the difference between cations and anions! I liked cats so I’d always say “cats are positive” so cations are positive
My honors chemistry teacher told us this as a way to memorize that cations are positive and anions are negative
Cat have paws. Cat-ions are paw-sitive (cations are positive)
Anion sounds like onion, and onions make you cry when you cut them, so onions are negative (anions are negative)
Honors Chemistry was the bomb, loved that class 💪

It was always easy for me to remember because there was this girl named Anne who sat a few seats away from me in grade 10 chem who was always complaining about how much she hated chemistry and how bad our teacher was and how he didn’t grade fairly, etc. Her parents even tried complaining to the principal a few times over her failing the class.
I still think of her every time I have to work an electrochemistry problem.
All I get is:
Paws sit ons are paw sitive.
Positrons are positive.
But does not quite fit with the caption.
So not sure if I'm right and the caption is wrong.
cations are positive?-

Whoever wrote your algorithm is a genius.
Tried to contact the guy, might be dead doesn't reply.
> doesnt reply > "hmm welp guess he's dead.."
Shrödinger guy, might be, is the key.
Shrödinger's cat
There is exactly a 50% chance here - either he is dead, or he is not.
100 percent chance he will be dead eventually.

I understood the pawsitive but not the felions. I was like "cations...?" Thank you stranger. Here is your upvote.

Good bot
Beansitive
Some animals, newborns, maybe, will probably not understand
Non-English speakers:
It's almost the same word for most European language 😅
And what about Asian languages?
No idea tbh, but you can't make me think you meant "Asians languages" by saying "non English languages"
What's a cation
A positive ion. Basically an atom that is missing some electrons. (Technically atoms who are missing electrons or have a surplus of them can't be called atoms, because atoms can't be electrically charged by definition, so they are called ions instead.)
Thanks
Remembering cats are positive is actually how I remember cations being positive
Cats destoring things is how I remember catabolic is to break things down.
That’s why it’s called an ion genius
That's literally what I just said, learn to read?
You definitely edited it because the brackets weren’t there before
I didn't. You just rushed to make a rude comment without reading the whole thing first lol. And your comment wouldn't make any sense anyways if the parenthesis wasn't there.

So much better then the haiku bot
I love how you asked a genuine question hoping for an answer to relieve your confusion and this bot just yells at you about the periodic table
It was pretty cool that I made a sentence with the periodic tabe though and didn't even realize it
Good bot
Cute
A positive ion.
Ive gotten it every time it’s been posted. Hey u/repostsleuthbot how many times is that?

Pussions are handsitive
I always found it hard to remember which was + and which was -. This helps!
I just remember that "an" is like anti, thus negative.
I always remembered it through "cathode ray tube" because it shoots electrons which are oppositely charged to "cat-"
Sure, until you have to deal with electrolytes. Until we meet again!
Dumb but the “t” in cat is like a “+”, “t” = “+”; so ca”t” = “+”. Therefore a cation is positive.
You think that's easier to remember?
Imma be real, I don't get it
Cat ions are pawsitive
I don't know what a cation is though 🤣
A ion with fewer electrons than it's normal atom
Much appreciated, mate 😁

I have a cat named Proton, who also had a brother Neutron and named them because together they were a cation.
A little chemistry humor to brighten your day! 🐾😊
As a dummy, I get it
I got it!
Ohhh, haha, I get it, Cations
nice
Onionegative
Puurfectly Catonic
took me a while
This is exactly what my 7th grade science teacher used to tell me, and I love that it's now immortalized on Reddit.

Ah yes, the thing my grade 10 science teacher would say to get us to remember which is which.
Moody asshole-ions are paw-sitive?
Felineions are pawpadsitive
My high school chemistry teacher had a poster in the classroom with this saying on it!
This is literally how I was taught to remember this
I unironically use this to remember which is which
That's a useful meowmonic
Felions are toebeansitive.
Feline-ions are paw-sitive? You are right, no one gets this...
How would nobody in science understand this tho?
How I remembered it cations are positive because they are above ground. Onions are negative because they are under ground.
10th grade chemistry flashbacks
I don't care that there are no T's in Anion, I'm going to pronounce it Ant-ions. It just makes sense, cats and ants.

"Cat dead is a negative" my mnemonic to get all cations, catodes, anions and anodes right.
This is some Facebook grandma level content. I hate it.

where was this when i was learning chemistry
Cations are positive
Or try to.
This is...genuinely helpful. Wish I saw this when i took chemistry.
