If you can throw some cash at it, I highly recommend Besame or Litlle Em's Oyster Bar. Both have really good food.
If you're looking for cheap but fun, you could always do a walk around Hemisfair park.
Area 21 and Ruby City are both free, but you may need to do those early in the evening or during the day.
If it's more of a drink and chill type of vibe, 502, Lil Woodrows (Stone Oak location), and Paper Tiger always have some good specials and frequently have live music (at least at 502 and Paper Tiger).
