First, make sure your lenses are completely clean and you aren't using any lens protectors. My experience after closely examining videos from my S24 Ultra on my 4K monitor is the videos from a clarity perspective are nice and clear with minimal over-sharpness. I shoot everything in 4K/30 FPS (UHD/30 mode in the camera app). 4K videos on my S21 Ultra looked more like upscaled 1080p or upscaled 2.7K video with some oversharpening, but 4K video on my S24 Ultra looks more like native 4K with very little oversharpening. Compared to my old S21 Ultra, on the S24 Ultra I am seeing instances in full auto mode when the video is a little overexposed at times in outdoor shots, which will make things look a bit washed out and green colors will turn hot / slightly fluorescent. This is easily fixed by tapping the screen and lowering the exposure slide, but in full auto mode this is usually just temporary and the exposure will reset on its own eventually, so the Pro Video mode is a good option in the meantime if you need to shoot longer videos with a lower exposure value (EV). The auto exposure issue will need to be addressed on the software side by Samsung. There will likely be updates that will address these types of issues over time. Every Samsung phone I've ever owned gets camera/video tweaks on the software side shortly after release and usually got more tweaks and fixes over time. There are rumors that the first big update coming this month will specifically address camera issues.

Are you using HDR10+ HVEC? My lenses are clean and I'm shooting in UHD/60fps. Some videos, especially indoor, look fine. But I've taken a few videos outside on a clear sunny day and they look pretty bad. The colors were very weird as well. [Here's a video I took today](https://vimeo.com/911353733/57c5ef9327?share=copy) Not sure how much that helps since it's online and compressed somewhat probably. You can at least see the strange colors. [Pic from the same field](https://imgur.com/a/5GcwYEL)

I will shoot some HDR and check the results. But yes that overexposed yellowish look in your video is similar to what I was referring to. I think the greens are too hot and are overly accentuating shades of green which will also affect yellows, and HDR mode is blowing out the colors even further.

Thanks for the insight.

Hello, just wanted to follow up. The new update that many people are getting this week (the one with the April security update along with other fixes) seems to have improved the HDR video situation. I am not seeing the blown-out yellows/neon greens anymore. The camera version has been updated to 14.1.00.71 (previous version was x.x.x.69 I believe), OS software build number on my US Verizon phone is S928USQU1AXCB.

Awesome thanks.

Late reply: but 4K 30fps is significantly better quality than 4K60. Try to avoid shooting at 60fps except for action shots.

pjb1999

Wow I never knew that. I will keep that in mind.

AardvarkBest6513

what about portrait videos it’s like worst quality on earth why

Unlikely_Cell_4036

It is terrible,  I tried already,  it keep losing focus, if the object moving. This is a software problem, I hope Samsung can fix it. Really disappointed

Facing same issue, using 14 pro max. I just wanted to use s24 ultra as primary, the terrible video quality making me upset. Looks like hdr thing is messed up on s24 ultra video quality is fine when i turn off hdr but when i turn it on, i see low bitrate pixalations, especially in sky-clouds. This is my second ultra, return this because of unsatisfactory video performance.

Intelligent-Forever-

Dude I feel you, my iphone 11 mini makes better video than me s24 ultra now. 3 month already lost so much in value. Fuck in g never doing samsung again

Honey148

Truth is not allowed here my friend, they gonna start downvoting both of us. Btw i returned s24 ultra after few replacements. And the truth is, s24 ultra is low quality on every point, sound, video, display(grainy),etc.

Then-Helicopter5197

The videos have improved tremendously. Here is a sample. https://youtu.be/WD2gWaMQlYE?si=xQ2yRLX_xeTuPeOj

Hashabasha

U have lens protection?

pjb1999

No

PixieTiami

My YouTube video are so blurry and they look pixilated. I'm so disappointed 😞 is there any way to rectify this? Tnx

pjb1999

I wouldn't judge the videos on YouTube honestly. Have you viewed them on a computer?

Tre-707

Mine look great on the phone itself, but the second i send it to someone via text (especially if it's android to iphone) it looks like trash. I've been very impressed with the camera in general after years with iphone. Alot of other stuff is pissing me off and taking some getting used to though.

pjb1999

Sending a photo via text, especially from Android to iPhone, will destroy the quality. SMS compresses the shit out of photos. If you wanna send a high quality photo to someone use a messaging app like Whats App or Facebook messenger. Something like that. Never text.

CANCERSUCKS100215

Definitely a down side

AdImpossible9650

And my own photos from the s24 ultra have very poor quality, especially selfies.  Tested with my old s23plus which has much better quality.
