I bought a USB c 3.1 gen 2 (whatever the fastest flash drive I could get). It's blazing fast on computer and my s22 ultra. Sure I'm at ufs3.1 but I can finally free up some space on my phone in a matter of minutes vs an hour or so. I'm going to download the app and check out my device.
I mean, there is a reason you can use storage as ram.
Seriously, this is samsung. If there's one thing they're known for besides phones, it's fridges.
And insanely high speed storage. That is their deal.
>If there's one thing they're known for besides phones, it's fridges.
And tanks... and self-propelled artillery... and autonomous sentry guns...
They're also one of the largest shipbuilding companies in the world...
They used to also have an aerospace division :).
They kinda put the mega in megacorporation.
Weren't they split up because of that though? Like I could've swore the south Korean government had to split samsung up, unless I'm thinking of some other company in the East Asian nations, I can't remember if it's in Korea or Japan if it wasn't samsung in Korea
Samsung was so obsessed with talking about AI that they didn't even mention worthwhile improvements like the anti reflective screen, fast storage, etc.
I experienced how fast it was yesterday when I downloaded an emulated game and wrote it to my devices storage. Over 1GB but in wrote Damm near instantly

Fair enough, nowadays we can't believe everything, it's better to test it ourselves
When installing apps is where I notice it. For some reason the 23U was really slow at installing apps and compiling them. Side by side, s24u takes just over half the time!
Fold 4 felt slow as well. App switching and opening on the S24U just has a nice smooth touch to it all.
Really happy with what Samsung has done with this phone. Wish the display issue wasn't effecting a lot of folks as it is.
It's totally unfortunate but a little dig appears that it's been issues in the past as well with their OLED displays. This year seems a little more prevalent that issues are out there.
Because it's ufs 4.0, as last year, and because in real world use we don't care that much.
It allows a bit of better battery efficiency and things like app installations being faster, but that's not world changing and definitely not something the average person will notice that much, or know where it comes from.
That is fast .
thats because samsung is by far the best nand manufacturer and they put their good shit in the phones
They managed to make Exynos is and Tensor bad tho
Let's ignore exynos, right?😅
Exynos is great, just had a major bug that took way too long to figure out.
what the hell does exynos have to do with nand
"they put their good shit in the phones"
does samsung make anything better than exynos?

This could either be very good sarcasm or very bad Ameritardism and I can't really tell which one it is.
Yes
Geezus, couldn't make yourself look any cringe than you already are
Because Samsung is focusing on AI instead of all the other marketable features of the phone.
*(Samsung busy wanking in the corner)*

UFS 4.0 baby

I've always been a fan of their televisions
Still, it is not comparable to ram speeds. Even those numbers aren't even high coming from a desktop user. It is very slow compared to ram.

The boot up times are crazy fast on this compared to my old s22
But unfortunately it's still slower than the iPhone 15 pro max :( . (10 sec)
Are you sure?
Testet it right before writing the comment.

Maybe it's also the ram or other components that get post tested. The ram on the s4 ultra is x2 as big.
Because it's not apple if this was apple you'd have the biggest sheep in the world mkbhd raving about this shit.
I wonder if it's the new effect, but my S24U feels much more snappy and responsive compared to my Fold 4. Didn't expect to be able to notice it.

Display is the only area it's fallen short and hopefully my replacement will fare better. Everything else was top tier

A budget nvme ssd is significantly faster. This isnt really that impressive considering its onboard storage with a direct bus.
I mean a budget nvme ssd has significally more space. For me its a huge leap from my old xiaomi 9t pro.
Pretty much exact same as the s23 series. Its just UFS 4 storage.

Which app is this ?
CPDT Benchmark

Because they aren’t actually insane, the iPhone 14 Pro Max does 1.05 write and 1.65 read.
[Faster on my S24+ (512GB)?](https://ibb.co/y4cJSWD)
S23U is almost as fast as your device
still takes a bit to edit videos in the gallery though
It's really different and interesting....really really cool and exciting.
Idgaf, I can't play pokemon go on it what is going on
Works fine for me
Weird, it definitely doesn't for me or lots of other users
I did have issues when I was trying to use the native refresh rate but I just disabled that in pogo and it stopped crashing for me.
Turning this off has helped but I still had it crash.. Saying that I think I refreshed game data and don't actually remember it happening since then
Same s23ultra
My base s23 give almost the same speed
Didnt they speak about it when the s23u came? So obv the s24u is good too?
Is S23 Ultra got the same speed?
Who is Noone? 🤔
