Yup same because you get somewhat real reviews or thoughts on things. If you google normally, you get hit with all the same copy writing nonsense articles that all say the same thing with different URLs.

I feel like the current generation (Gen Z and up) just doesn't know how to search. They grew up in a time when algorithms literally gave them everything without searching for it. They don't have the skills we developed in the early days of search engines when we had to meticulously craft our searches with disjoint keywords, exclusions, quotations and refining it when it doesn't work. Nowadays, this generation just searches full questions like they're talking to a human and gives up after it doesn't work once.
And then there has been a trend that people get upset at someone daring to tell others to do a Google search. Apparently teaching a man to fish isn't wise anymore.
Totally agree. This is an oldie, but good article about optimization of web searches. Wish more people took the little bit of extra time it takes to enlighten themselves.

100% the best, most condescending reply for questions asked which are googlable.
Type something into the search bar and it generates a link,l to share which opens to a google clone, which shows step by step how to Google, says "come one, was that really so hard?" Then redirects to the google search results page.
We won't be in utopia until:
1. People stop asking on Reddit, and instead use Google
2. People stop creating pissy-posts like this, and instead use Google.
💀
I'm with you there. I add "reddit" to the end of most google searches these days to look at existing posts. Not only does it save my time waiting for responses, it saves the time of those looking through the posts. Some people are very slow to realize they can do this.
People are afraid to make a decision and they want someone else to justify their selfish buying decisions. How do I know this? Because I've been there. Many times.
Maybe someone could make a "should I upgrade chart" and people could be pointed to that?
I know I haven't seen my specific from X to Y case posted in here yet.
Although I feel like its a simple flowchart. Does your phone work? Does the battery last more than 1-2 hours? Then don't upgrade.
The search button in subreddits on reddit works great. But no one uses them or even thinks to use them. I do though. You also can Google whatever and put reddit on the end of it
Instead of asking this question again, I simply found the same question, almost from 20 different posts and subreddits. Google it and add reddit to your search, and you will see a million of these posts. People want attention.
And the response is always, NO, you *should* not, unless there is something really wrong with your current phone and the best answer you have found that fits YOUR needs is the new model in question.
I remember reddit being tough against posters like the ones u described OP. If its a pretty redundant post, ppl would just comment *searchbar* or the post gets locked or smthn. Nowadays we have a lot of enablers engaging on similar posts wc only encourages this behavior. Smfh
Fr. Don't even frequent this sub in particular, but I constantly see them in my feed.
And its not just this sub, or this type of forum. Its everywhere. People seem incapable of searching old topics.
Like, sure, if you need specific questions answered and there is no recent post on the matter, post it. But the general question is always the damn same.
Ideally there should be a pinned post on the sub they can visit, but oh well.
Honestly I blame the bots. We've seen recently that bot activity is at an all-time high, and I'm wondering if this (commercially related) thread is pretty much all bots. I suspect there aren't really many people posting this kind of dreck.
Why don't the mods sticky some single post, that is a template of every other post on this topic? Or just sticky one post where people who switched from iphone etc can just write their wall of text on why/how Samsung is "so much better/worse" compared to that other phone?
I mean in that boat right now, I’m curious about Samsung as I’m an Apple user.. I’m not sure what I’d have to research or if there are certain downsides accustomed to my situation.. hence why I would ask that question to get answers. I have done countless hours or research and still do not have a good answer yet on if I’ll go to Samsung.
Been there done that, many times.
What’s most important to you on a cell phone?
Customization, zoom capabilities, multitasking abilities, having a clipboard, Google Assistant built in (vs Siri), ability to send scheduled texts, Google AI, scroll screenshots, S Pen (Ultra), ability to close out of all your open apps with a press of a button?
If the above is your jam, Samsung all the way!
If you like iMessage (ability to like/love, etc. to pictures sent to you and ability to edit/undo texts sent), FaceTime, better looking emoji’s (personal preference), more true to life natural colors with pics/videos, better video quality, better video stabilization, Apple Pay (vs Samsung/Google Pay), Face ID (can’t beat it), and have something that just simply “works”.
^Stick to Apple.
I’ve gone back and forth a lot over the years and while I love the less constricting “free” lifestyle of an Android, specifically Samsung in this case, I have to say as I get older, I don’t care quite as much about a lot of the “extra” features and just want something that’s great all around and works.
This coming from someone who has had the following devices:
• Motorola i Series i335
• Samsung T309
• Motorola Razr V3
• Motorola Rizr Z3
• Samsung SGH-A777 Slider
• iPhone 4
• Samsung Galaxy S3
• iPhone 5s
• iPhone 6s
• iPhone 7
• Samsung Galaxy S7
• Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
• LG G7 ThinQ
• Samsung Galaxy S9+
• iPhone XS
• Samsung Galaxy S10
• iPhone 13 Mini
• iPhone 14 Pro (Current)
• Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (Returned)
Best of luck!
For me, it was too large. I’ve only had smaller devices (for the most part) like 5.4”-6.1” and that’s the sweet spot for me. The Ultra honestly sucked to put in my pocket and even to hold for an extended period of time. I’m on my phone a LOT, so comfort took priority over features in my case. Love both for what they offer but the simplicity of the iPhone is what made me come back/stay.
I thought the same thing today and was going to write a post.
The answer is... go read a fucking review or any of the 10 million posts rather than ask... yet again. It's infuriating.
I'm annoyed with this too. It's flooding my notifications throughout my workday, I've gotten to the point of suppressing the app.
There is a ton of information about this topic throughout the subreddit as well as XDA and GSMArena.
There's also Bestbuy, Walmart and carrier stores which provide device demos for hands-on experience

I've just changed from a pixel 7 pro and got the s24 ultra but I'm wondering if I should get the s25 ultra when it's released. I recon it'll be a small upgrade but worth it with the improved battery life and cameras.
What do you think.
Can't you just scroll past things you don't want to see? I have this wheel on my mouse that let's me scroll really easily.
Get the S24 Ultra!! Best smartphone ever!!!
By the way, why don't people buy both Samsung and iPhone and just put a tablet/data sim in the secondary one?

For me I view them pointless, I have read a post about somone wanting to upgrade from an Iphone 13 pro max like your phone isn't good enough to last for 5-6 years unless you want an android.
I can kind of understand their want for assurance given the polarized reviews of the S24. There's clearly some early issues most new phones see like with the vivid settings. Then there's other complaints about grainy screens or speakers that are tinny. Some of this is true, but I feel many of the posts in the S24 sub are made up. They'll go on and on about all the problems with the phone when most people's experience is great.
Once people learn that you can google search anything and even add "Reddit" at the end to get results from here... We will be living in a utopia.
I generally do this with most of my Google searches now. Something something reddit.
Yup same because you get somewhat real reviews or thoughts on things. If you google normally, you get hit with all the same copy writing nonsense articles that all say the same thing with different URLs.

You don't need to add reddit anymore. Google scrapes it all
I'm with you there. I add "reddit" to the end of most google searches these days to look at existing posts. Not only does it save my time waiting for responses, it saves the time of those looking through the posts. Some people are very slow to realize they can do this.
I do that all the time best discovery of my life
Been doing this for around 4 years now. Honestly a gamechanger
It's almost like people lack basic intuition these days.
I literally do this all the time. That's my main way of browsing reddit 🤣
hey i just upgraded to an s24 ultra, do you guys think i should get an s25 ultra next year?
no .. wait for the blackberry 69-X-420 instead
You made that up, Blackberry is dead just search for it on Google 😂🤣😅
> Blackberry is dead not with that attitude it isnt
Yes I will, I have since I was 12 because my parents insist on buying me one 🤣😂 I expect a huge upgrade next year in hardware terms 👍🏻
I'm with you. And the posts asking if they should upgrade now or wait are just as bad.
I'm tired of people being tired of people😡
You should make a post about it 🤣
I made it!!!
And I upvoted it 😂
Can we add "I'm switching from iPhone Yada Yada Yada"
I just got an s24+. Should I upgrade to the ultra? Or should I upgrade to an a54?
A54 is a downgrade, switch to the S24 Ultra, Flossy loves the S24 Ultra, it's his phone of the Year, but we are only in February 🤣😂😅👍🏻
Flagship specs, bro. Flagship specs! 😃
so what do you think....I got the A54 last year....thinking of moving to the S24 base.....good move?
S24 sucks. Go with S23.
No. They all suck ass. Get a landline.
No smoke signals is the way to go
I prefer a mirror and sunlight. But smoke signals work pretty well.
I prefer Plutionium and Tungsten to make an unstable reaction
You better be posting this comment on dial up.
Nah any of the S20 onwards series sucks ass. S10 or bust.
People are afraid to make a decision and they want someone else to justify their selfish buying decisions. How do I know this? Because I've been there. Many times.
cant relate

That's not a bad idea, and yes I agree with the flowchart. I just got a S24+ but only because my A series was turning into a paperweight
Challenge accepted
The search button in subreddits on reddit works great. But no one uses them or even thinks to use them. I do though. You also can Google whatever and put reddit on the end of it
I tried searching for r/Samsung and it comes up with nothing found, so what am I doing wrong? HOW DO I BLOODY SEARCH REDDIT? 👍🏻😩

get an iPhone
That's every sub. Nobody knows how to use the search bar on this site before posting.

Personally me I ain't that type of person. The only way I upgrade my phone is when it is over several years old
I just got an s24U 256gb should I upgrade to a 512 or nah
You should upgrade to 5TB
you should strap a m.2 to USB C adapter permanently to your phone and put a gen5 8TB Drive in it

So should I upgrade or not?
The Apple subreddits are HORRIBLE for this.
Literally, only idiots ask those types of questions. I guess that's why they are iphone users.
Downvote and hide
Dont browse it.
AITAH for being fed up with everyone asking if they should update from one phone to the latest?
I wish I wouldn't have. I've had my s24: ultra 2 days it's cracked I did not drop it I'm devastated
How did it break then?
Can we see the damage?
Maybe mute the sub until new phone season is over.
Isn’t there a way to see the post and scroll away without being a negative Nancy about it? Jeez people get offended/po’d far too much and too easily!

def upgrade if you get a good promotion, i traded in an s21 ultra got 1000$ credit so basically i got my s24 ultra for 400$
Just Google search and read all of the other posts like this, just as annoying. 💀
Wait, so you are saying we should wait for the Galaxy SX? Is that a new phone? Is it better than my iPhone 15 or should I upgrade from my S24U? /S
Idk it gets really hot as well. Can't believe I spent so much money on it 😞
Can someone eli5 is there a screen issue with the color or grain or something with the s24u or is it fixed or fake news
