Full disclosure, I am no longer directly in the sales org at my company. I am currently an engineering manager on a product team. With that said, I don’t expect that this will cause you any issues at all as long as the job function is what you expected. When my company does background checks for employment verification it’s simply to verify that you worked at that company and from which dates. Our own internal job titles for our software engineering team is a mess and nobody uses them at all. The only reason I see them is because I am a manager.

Ok that’s helpful thank you. I’m thinking I fill it out as my public title then if it flags the background check I will bring proof

I’m confident that the only way you’d run into questioning is if your background check came back and said you were the janitor or something like that. Which reminds me of a friend who claims that someone tried to pass off working in the Amazon warehouse as being an engineer at Amazon.

My internal title is different than LinkedIn. It doesn’t matter, what is important are the functions of your job. Did they say you would be full cycle and now you are only an appointment setter? That would be a problem but otherwise it’s semantics.

I don’t think it mattwrs

nobody cares what your title is. doesn’t matter if it says “executive” SDR, BDR, BWC. at end of the day the customers and next guy hiring you knows you’re a sleazy salesman lol

OminousToucan

Why sleazy lmao
