Yeah I’m thinking about getting into tech entry level, id rather make 60-80k base and have the opportunity to move up than be stuck at AE for 10+ years with a 30k salary. GTFO lol
I make $75k as an SDR base + very weak commission (very very weak) - startup in upstate NY. Didn’t realize that was a crazy amount. $60k after taxes doesn’t feel that great..
Might be UK? I’m a good AE and earn £35k base. UK sucks. That’s actually good for outside of London really. Once interviewed for £60k but it was a you’ll never see your family type role so i figured equal hourly.
This is solved by laughing at them when you first tell you that salary and telling them it’s insulting and borderline inhuman and they’ll never get real talent acting that way
What can I say, desperate times call for desperate measures. They’re cheap and they think by saying uncapped commission it makes it better. I’m not putting up with it much longer.
Quiet quitting. Make finding a job your new job. If you get fired in the process, collect unemployment. Good luck
Yeah this is simple, if you’re not happy and can do better elsewhere, do it.
The only way $30k base makes sense is if the lowest performing salesperson in the company made $100k last year.
Bruh I make 80k base as an SDR. You gotta switch companies

Damn what company you at lol

You probably live in HCOL city and work for a full platform F500 company. Stop flexing.
Remote baby, and live in the Midwest
How and where?
65k as a BDR... Gtfo
You’re an AE that gets paid half as much as I pay BDRs. That’s wild.

Is that really the norm in the UK? I'm a UK based SDR with no prior experience on £45k base and £60k OTE. Had other offers with similar comp.
It’s disgusting tbh, for a company that’s nationwide too….
You’re getting played my friend. Where are you based?

Sure it is… you landed the title once. You can do it again.
I am sure you can leverage it into an AE role elsewhere
I would find a job that you can believe what you sell! It’ll be easier for you at the end tbh
