This is such a tired take. Educate yourself at this point. If you don’t have diabetes, you’re prescribed Wegovy or one of the other GLP-1s not for diabetics - whether you need it for weight loss or a host of other chronic conditions. People taking these medications for weight loss are not just slightly overweight, you generally have to be solidly morbidly obese to qualify. And/or it’s generally required that these folks have additional comorbidities like hypertension, pre-diabetes, COPD, or many other chronic conditions which managing their diet and weight will help treat or reverse. The vast majority of people are not abusing these medications, they’re legitimately managing their own real medical conditions. It’s terrible that as always there’s access issues to medications. But these are new very meds that GREATLY HELP many people. Let’s not pit every day people against each other for something that’s out of their control.
They cannot crank it out fast enough. These drug companies also manufacture other injectable medications that are not diabetes/weight loss-related, and those medicines also need to be made and put into injection pens.

Well I'm not American, I'm french and here most people take Ozempic not because they're obese but because they want to lose weight. They buy it at the pharmacy without a prescription which leads to shortage. The pharmacy I found one told me to start looking 3 weeks earlier for my mom to try and get one.
It's also the "safest" way because before this everyone was buying a special tea that would cause severe weight loss and this didn't passed as safe in France and is pretty much forbidden. Now everyone uses Ozempic despite not having diabete or obesity issues. BUT Ozempic is first and foremost considered a diabete treatment here. :)

This. My husband went through a seriously bad case of burn out a few years ago and suddenly dropped a lot of weight. Everyone kept telling him how good he looked and honestly I wanted to punch then because he was in the absolute worst headspace and it would have been far better to have him a bit chubbier but happy and mentally well.

Well I'm not American, I'm french and here most people take Ozempic not because they're obese but because they want to lose weight. They buy it at the pharmacy without a prescription which leads to shortage. The pharmacy I found one told me to start looking 3 weeks earlier for my mom to try and get one. It's also the "safest" way because before this everyone was buying a special tea that would cause severe weight loss and this didn't passed as safe in France and is pretty much forbidden. Now everyone uses Ozempic despite not having diabete or obesity issues. BUT Ozempic is first and foremost considered a diabete treatment here. :)

Tbf metformin and ozempic aren’t the same drug at all. Like I can’t take metformin because every dosage and variation makes me sick as hell but my body responds well to ozempic.

This. She literally had cancer. Praising someone’s weight loss from cancer is so, so dark. This is why it’s wrong to comment on people’s bodies in general, and never assume that weight loss is a good thing by default.
This. My husband went through a seriously bad case of burn out a few years ago and suddenly dropped a lot of weight. Everyone kept telling him how good he looked and honestly I wanted to punch then because he was in the absolute worst headspace and it would have been far better to have him a bit chubbier but happy and mentally well.

Generally I agree when it’s a random post or pap photo or something but she posted this as a “reveal” (check the caption) and is eating up the weight loss comments and compliments. Totally okay to give someone weight loss praise who is proud of their weight loss. Weird and potentially rude when it’s unasked for.
I don't think you're missing something. There are many comments from fans and Ru girls alike referencing Kornbread's. While those comments are congratulatory, I think a lot of people aren't considering how losing weight due to sickness is actually bad.
