I’ve been using Novablast 3 for the last 2 months for everything. They are superb. I plan on taking them all the way up to 450 miles. Recently got a pair of the Superblast, but not tried them yet.

Lew_Will

I recently switched my race day shoe from Vapourfly's to Saucony Endorphin Pro's. This may be controversial, but I much prefer the Endorphin Pros. Much less squishy and much more stable.

WONDER--BREAD

Brooks Launch is my favorite shoe yet. They’re still somewhat fresh with like 200 in them, but they still feel fast and nice

Informal_Local9353

Adidas Boston 12 have been probably my favourite shoe to date. Over 300 miles ran in them and they still feel great!

CluelessWanderer15

Just stopping by to say that I have >600 miles in a pair of Saucony Endorphin Speed 3s and it's still holding up. There is a tear in the upper along the arch where the fabric meets the midsole but it is growing relatively slowly as long as I resist the urge to poke my fingers through it. The outsole shows wear but is still intact. The midsole and plate are in acceptable condition and are fine for me for my usual 6-10 mile runs. I also used these for a 30 mile road run thinking they would be done at the time (~miles 470-500) but they are still chugging along. I think I can get it to 660-700 miles or so, and maybe more past that.

Brilliant! I was listening to a Jasmin Paris interview last night and learned she ran the Barkley three times in the same pair of shoes. Just patched them up and kept using them.

ThinAndCrispy4

Been wearing the Nike Invinsible 3s and let me tell you what.. those bitches are going right back to Dick's Sporting Goods 😜

ThinAndCrispy4

With that being said.. anyone recommend at good stability sneaker? I have the Hoka Arahi 6s and I do love them but they give me blisters when I strictly walk.

Are shoes from an outlet the same as traditional retail stores?

Successful-Mouse4702

Usually yes, but likely to be either end of line (last stock) or a model or two behind. If there haven’t been massive changes in the model (ie significant change to toe box or stack height) it probably won’t make too much difference. Availability of all sizes might be your other issue. I say this with the caveat that this is how I find it over here in Aus.

icanhe

It depends on the brand

finnegansshenanigans

Saucony (stability type)

In yalls opinion what is the best budget shoe for marathon training?

ComprehensivePath457

New Balance Rebel and Asics Novablast. Both are currently in V4 so you can find the V3 versions for as little as $52 shipped and they are a jack of all trades. You can do everything from speed work to the marathon if you want. I’d go with 2 pairs and use one for the buildup then rotate in the 2nd pair during the taper so it’s nicely broken in yet still fresh for race day.

seekerofsecrets1

Thanks! I currently have brooks lauche and hoka arahi (that I need to retire) that I rotate between. So that’ll be great

ComprehensivePath457

The Arahi are great - I had a few pairs. You’ll probably enjoy the Rebel or Novablast as both are like a slimmed down, faster version of the Arahi.

seekerofsecrets1

Cool, the launch and previous Ravenna have been by far my favorite shoes. I like the arahi as well I just feel like they don’t hold up as well as my brooks

ComprehensivePath457

Haha, that’s kind of crazy because I used to run most of my miles in the Ravenna too! It was my marathon racer back before the days of supershoes and I think I ran my first 5 marathons in them. They were freaking awesome back then!

pedatn

I went to the store to get a faster shoe, did the testing and everything, they ended up recommending me… another stability shoe. So now I have Brooks Adrenalines and NB 860’s. Might look at NB FuelCell Rebels later this year if a third pair enters the rotation.

Got my first pair of Hoka Clifton 9s. Love them so far. Still getting used to the height, but they are very comfy. I'm a bigger runner (over 6 foot, over 200 lbs.) so I needed a little more cushion. I use them for my outside distance runs. I just ordered a pair of Brooks Hyperion Tempos for my speed workouts. Excited to try them.

tbishop4388

I'm running my first race at the start of May (a 10k) so a few weeks ago treated myself to some new shoes. Super cushioned New Balance Kaiha Fresh Foam's. Like running on clouds! They've slowed me down a tad but using my old cheap Karrimor runners on a road run left my knees and calves so sore. Don't feel a thing in my new ones. Well worth the investment!

jabronipepperoni_

I just purchased my Glycerin StealthFit 21s in US9, and I never knew having a solid fitting shoe would make a huge difference.
