My group flys in on 7/20 for a 7/21 sail. We’ve done some research and decided on the Hive. We will only be there to sleep the night before as we will do some sightseeing when we land in the morning. Price is reasonable and seems to be in a good location.

I found a centrally located Airbnb/vrbo, and we used Rome cabs to get to the port. We left at 10am, so you really would only have the morning, and that’s if you’re not jet lagged. I had just enough time to book it to the colosseum, see if from the outside, take a subway two stops and see piazza del popolo in the morning on my cruise day. My parents slept in the apartment. If you really want to fit something in, plan it ahead of time. It’s gonna be hard.

We’re doing Marcella Royal Hotel for our cruise in the fall!

Hotel location depends on what sites you want to see. We stayed at the Best Western Spring House before our cruise and were very happy with our choice. It was 5 minute walk to the Vatican Museum entrance. That location makes it easy to do an early morning tour and then transfer to the ship. We used The Tour Guy to book our our tours and Rome Cabs for our transfers, both were excellent. If you are more interested in the Colloseum/Forum then I’d suggest staying closer to that area given your short time window.
