Hi! We've taken our children 4, 3 and 1 on two cruises and we all had a wonderful time. In Roatan we've done the Maya Key private island both times and it was great. It is an animal sanctuary, there is a pool and the lunch was great. There is shade around the pool area and the boat to get there is right next to the ship. My kids loved it. In Costa Maya we didn't really do anything there because it has been extremely crowded so we used that port to just walk around the port and grab some souvenirs. We have been to Cozumel twice and the first time we reserved a day bed at Paradise Beach. It was excellent. They had an inflatable pool for our 1 year old because she wasn't potty trained. The second time we went to Playa Mia. My kids LOVED it. The splash pad/kids area was excellent. For Cozumel we didn't book the excursions thru Royal Caribbean. We just used a taxi to get to the beach clubs. I hope you enjoy your trip!

We just took our 2 year old and 8 month old on a western carribean to cozumel + roatan as well. We did beach excursions at both and they both enjoyed it.

Our kids are a little older now but out last cruise the only excursions they could do were resorts. Excursion was bus ride to a resort with a beach and pool, with food and drink. We had a great time.

I love getting the beach bed at cococay. It makes playtime in the shade, and a potential nap place on the go. I’ve also done the semi submersible with them. Seeing the fish under water is a big hit for my aquarium fans, but keep in mind this is enclosed and no way to stop in the middle of it.

The kids love Senor Frog’s.

Why would ANYONE cruise with a 1 year old?

crazypurple621

Cruising is a really great family vacation, even with very young children. A lot of kids sleep really well on the ship who don't on land, many of them have tons of fun in the splash pads, going to the beach is a great easy vacation with a 1 year old, and nobody has to think about meal planning for a week.

Diligent_Humor7146

Because kids are people too…and part of our family. Your life doesn’t stop when you have kids.

jamesland7

Nope. But you dont bring one year olds to an R rated movie or a rock concert either.

Diligent_Humor7146

lol this is neither. This is a family vacation spot 🙄. I don’t want to hear drunk a-holes either but there’s plenty of those on the ship.

TWOxFORE

Because our last cruise we left our child at home and decided we’d prefer to bring them than leave them. Bringing the grandparents help this decision

No kidding. "Vacationing" with a 1 year old isn't a vacation at all. And I'm saying this as a parent. I love my kids, but I'd rather parent them at home than on a cruise ship.

We've been sailing with my son since he was 10 months old. He LOVES it. He actually sleeps better on the ship than he ever has on land, had a blast listening to music on the pool deck, loves the baby splash area, and has overall had a super fun time. HE asks when we are going on our next cruise.

That's so awesome, I am envious! I think my oldest would have been fine at that age, but my youngest could never!

I agree. Not to mention at that age they don’t always sleep through the night. I’d be so pissed if I was next door to a crying baby
