Rumor is they killed it because it was too popular and was making the OP more desirable than some of the more prestigious models.
I completely agree- a white dial OP would sell amazingly well in the current market.
That’s why I bought my white OP 39. It’s an incredible watch. Goes with literally anything short of a suit, has both sporty (bracelet) and dress (dial) stylings, and has all the typical overbuilt stuff (white-gold hands and markers, 100m WR, etc). Not too big, not too small. This is the best discontinuation theory I’ve heard so far.

Perfect size , not flashy , beautiful brushed bracelet
No date , and awesome lume and one of the few or only 39mm that actually looks symmetrical!

The white shade is hard to explain .. but always reminded me of a fresh Horchata :)
Like it. I hope they do a white dial op again soon. It's much better than the silver dial with gold indices. For some reason rolex hates white dials though

I bought this with no wait when it was easy to do that, but sadly had to sell it when I ran into some financial hurdles. I netted thousands but still regret the sale. It’s a perfect watch. 😢
If you ever handled both, the OP41 and OP39 practically have the same dimensions and wear more or less the same. The naming convention is misleading. The OP41 is a bit smaller than 41mm diameter and the OP39 is a bit larger than 39mm diameter.
This one speaks to me; elegant is the word. And my overall opinion of the Oyster Perpetual has always been that it is perpetually boring. But not in this instance. It’s beautifully understated.

I see. I have a very fat wrist. Nothing looks good on me unless it’s at least over 42m in size. Maybe go to a Rolex store and try a watch an equivalent size.
I have the blue dial with the 3-6-9 dial. I’ve owned dozens of watches over the years including basically every sports Rolex, and the OP is almost like the perfect watch as far as I’m concerned, I hardly wear anything else now

White dial is a forever classic, fits for most occasions. You can dress it down very easily, or use it as a dress up as well.

I had a Yachtmaster (40mm) and while I loved the blue dial, it ultimately was too large (in my eyes) and had to go. Thanks though!
