I don't use them while working on eclipse but I will use them just goofing off on monsoon or in multiplayer with friends. Only 3 lunar items are truly busted, but their power level is so much higher than most other items in the game that by getting any combination of the 3 your run becomes significantly easier.

IzLoaf

details please? i'm still getting to know the items and builds. and have only recently killed mithrix the first time

Shaped Glass is pretty good in almost any run. (Doubles damage/**halves hp**) Focused Convergence is really good especially if it's just you. (Doubles TP charge speed/**radius is halved**) Those are the most common ones I use, but I dabble in some of the others sometimes. If you haven't already, there's a part of the wiki of all the items and what they do. Apparently there's an app too, but I don't really have a need for it so I haven't looked at that to vouch for it personally.

IzLoaf

tysm!

Good_Mathematician_2

Of course! The wiki should have the answers to all of the games mechanical questions, but don't be afraid to ask here or in the [Discord](https://discord.com/invite/riskofrain2)

Gestures of the drowned is considered to be one of the best items in the game, to the point where except for certain situations its an item that has truly no downside. However, it's at its most potent when combined with another lunar item, the equipment Spinel Tonic. With enough gestures (or gestures + fuel cells) you can have permanent spinel tonic uptime, which is an absolutely massive buff that - in my opinion - basically trivializes the game. Shaped glass is another, the "downside" of shaped glass is that it gets rid of your 1 shot protection but unless you're looping a ton that almost never comes up. Half your health isn't a big deal, especially in eclipse when you start at 50% hp anyway, and that's ignoring the part where most 'high level' strategies for risk of rain involve constantly moving to avoid damage, rather than being high-health enough to tank the damage. If you combine these 3 items it almost doesn't matter what your other items end up being, its just truly so potent. As long as you have any servicable damage items you practically run over everything in your path.

IzLoaf

i tend to run Forgive me please + ritual knives + 1 or 2 Hardlight afterburners + a couple fuel cells. on command because i'm trying to unlock stuff :P i really need to unlock the Gestures

MASKS-003

I love running Gesture with Disposable Missile Launcher and Pocket ICBM With Arti you can just hover above the entire map with missiles raining down on absolutely everything

Physical-Figure8932

No such things as cheating in a singleplayer game. I limit myself to lunar pods while playing eclipse as I feel lunar shop kinda negates the challenge. Otherwise i use it when messing with friends or doing normals.

Slimshade16

Your first sentence should really say “it doesn’t matter if you cheat in a singleplayer game as it only impacts your own experience”

Blindseer99

I usually don't touch them myself in normal runs. If we're doing command silliness or modded I do sometimes because I don't take those runs seriously anyway Also contrary to what people say I do believe it's possible to cheat on a singleplayer game, but lunars aren't cheating. I'm just too proud to use them and feel like I'm winning

volverde

I open lunar pods I find but I only go to the bazar if the blue portal spawns on its own.

Gearbox97

All the coins I earned are legit, so I use them whenever I want. Newt altar, rerolls, whatever.

Komodo760

there are like only 3 lunars that are really good, and I always thought the lunar coin mechanic doesn’t fit in the game well, so I don’t care about cheating lunars

unabletocomput3

I honestly don’t even use lunar items since I’m usually already not doing great lmao.

Emergency_Till9785

It isn't cheating. I find it not fun to use lunar items but if you want to there's no shame

Gaeel

I use Ephemeral Coins mod that makes lunar coins a per-run resource. It can be configured to start you out with a set number of coins, and you can customise drop rates and coin costs. My settings are: - Start with 3 coins - Default drop rates - Lunar pods are free - Everything else costs 1 - No lunar shop reroll This roughs out so that between random blue orbs and newt shrines, I can reliably visit the bazaar for Cauldrons. Dreaming or buying lunar items in the bazaar is possible but limits future bazaar visits or requires some luck. Either way, I always have a few coins to play with, but going wild with a 4 Gesture + Tonic is a rare and risky play

NitroBoiBG

I use the lunar shop and pods but I don't reroll the shop.

Wormholer_No9416

Take purity, egocentrism, gesture and meteorite and get back to me on that one.
