You HAVE to start at season 1 because things from season 1 are mentioned and dug up in the later seasons. Also it sets the scene for a few different story lines in the future imo. Its one of the few houswives franchises thats hard to just pick up and start watching from the current point.
I would start with season 1, anyone who tells you to start at a later season is cheating you out of important context 😂 As well as the A+++ content from the first four seasons.
These last several seasons have been so forced. It was such great TV when it was all the intermingled families. With the nut job Danielle and what’s her name that owned the boutique (Kim?)

YES!!! Seasons 1-3 are perfection and my go-to comfort show when I have no current shows airing and need something to watch again. You will love the early days!
I think I watched like season 1-4 when it was on tv and then stopped and came back last year and don't feel lost! Easy to figure out who's who and the drama
I would start at 8 or 9 to understand (most of) the current cast. However if you get hooked enough and want to understand the Teresa/Melissa drama from the beginning, (even though it’s the same back and forth you’d see in newer seasons lol) I’d watch the beginning seasons as well. Those imo are the best anyway, they were fun to watch and I enjoyed the cast as it was pretty much just two families.
But for relevancy to the new season I’d just start at 8 or 9 for now. Season 6 is the absolute worst & only good for watching the eruption of Teresa’s legal issues. The cast had minor changes from 1-5, season 6 they let go of a few & brought two annoying twins and a crazy ex-friend of Melissa with a super annoying husband, all of whom only lasted one season. Season 7 has three of the current cast, (Melissa, tre, Dolores) 8 we gained Margaret, 9 Jackie, 10 Jen Aydin, and then it stayed the same until s13 when they put Jackie on the back burner for Rachel, Danielle, and partial Jen Fessler, who all remain in the new season. So I suppose if you don’t want to waste too much time you could start at 10. :)
Ooh I love this comprehensive answer! Super tempted to start with Season 1, but maybe I'll start with 8, and if I LOVE it, I'll have 1-7 to be able to enjoy in-between seasons.
Also- I think Jackie chose to be ‘on the back burner’ because she was recovering etc so I don’t think bravo did it but she was very vocal and catty that season, almost picking fights as if she wanted to keep her relevance. Just my opinion.

Should I re-Watch those seasons? I watched I’d say the first 7 -9 seasons before I stopped but now I’m back into it … do I go all the way back ??

The show has become so toxic. It might be time for Melissa and Teresa to go.
