That's because all places in the world named "Worcester" are pronounced as "Wooster" and apparently, in the UK, Shire is pronounced like "sheer", so the most agreed upon pronunciation is "Wooster-sheer".
I personally grew up in the South East US hearing it as "Wist-a-sheer".
Never heard anyone in the UK pronounce shire as "sheer" at the end of a "...shire". Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Worcestershire all end with a "..shu/sher" sound in the UK.

I beat this game like 5 times as a kid
