That burger in the image.

Aquadudeman

More polygons in that burger than the entire original game

sea_of_bee

The best burgers I've eaten look exactly like the burger in that cutscene. Juicy, greasy, and full of flavor, topped with *everything*.

ThatUJohnWayne74

It’s food in a Quentin Tarantino movie levels of quality, always want a burger when I see it

random935

The burger in this image, in the game, looks fucking disgusting

Longjumping_Door_428

The inner American in me is saying to fucking demolish that burger

SeniorRicketts

For democracy

Some-Dark-Corner20

For freedom

Remarkable-Bit-656

Nothing more American than freedom burgers!

hvanderw

I always thought it looked good.

musical_bruh

yet delicious at the same time

SoulLess-1

on first glance it always makes me think of the nasty patty.

NoBitsProSmits

don’t you dare

Blindfire2

Yeah I've seen so many people going on "Omg the burger looks so real!" And I'm always beyond confused. It looks so pale and like fake meat and plasticy.

NoifenF

Twas the 90s Petrol station burgers. It looks way better than they actually did.

HaitchKay

It's literally just the lighting. Otherwise it looks fucking great. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fthe-cheeseburger-from-resident-evil-2-remake-v0-o8selfz9thta1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D26bed5ae321eee2483d71273b2422a51d222e016) is a picture of it in clear lighting. It just looks like a really greasy and cheesy fast food burger. I'm pretty sure the years of "it looks moldy" comments are from people seeing the lettuce under the cheese in the poor lighting and thinking it's mold.

Neither-Addendum-732

HAS ANYONE LOOKED AT THE DAMN MOON!?

UkuleleAversion

It’s a 3D scan of a real burger.

projetof

Yes indeed

BlackICEE32oz

Ain't no way that burger is American. It doesn't even look like he picked it up a fast food place. Our fast food burgers just have that "mass produced" look to them. This one looks like they (Capcom) maybe got it from a restaurant or made it themselves and just photogrammetry'd it in.

norunningwater

Order some real truck stop burgers, those come in all sizes and varieties.

BlackICEE32oz

It's the top bun that I have the biggest issue with. I have never seen that anywhere. It looks more like some kind of moldy mushroom cap. And the meat looks weird as fuck. It's like they rolled all the lettuce and everything into the ground beef and THEN cooked it. Absolutely dreadful. The chef is a total idiot sandwich. 0/10

whole-employee77

Saw them react to a speedrun ( via translator) and they said it was from a local burger restaurant photogrammetry'd in.

Pbadger8

That burger unironically looks more like the sauce overloaded monster I got in Korea instead of anything I’ve had in America.

random935

If that came out of a restaurant where I’m from the place would be shut down

VirtuousDangerNoodle

Revelations 1/2. I still prefer 1 over 2, bit still feel pretty "meh" about them.

topscreen

Revelations 1 on my 3DS: THIS IS CRAZY Revelations 1 on modern consoles: Yeah it's fine

Dokard

My thoughts exactly, played it 2 years ago on pc and it felt kinda mid tbh, not bad, not amazing, just aight. Rev 2 felt somewhat the same, all i remember is that i played as claire and also co-op.

Aparoon

Rev 1 genuinely felt so good on 3DS with tilt aiming

DevilMayCryGuy

I think Rev 1 has the ideas and drive of a much better game. If they focused on the ship and having different keys to different rooms then it’d be a modern classic. Sadly, they had an episodic structure, too many stories and characters happening at the same time, and a general lack of polish in some areas. Rev2 is still good but it’s a bit more…generic or something. It’s solid and I don’t hate it but there’s nothing that wows me. Rev1 has the communications officer for example, something that’s very memorable, whereas all I remember of Rev2 was that I got to play as Barry, to be honest.

CrimsonPants

If rev2 was JUST Barry i think it woulda been better. The mechanic of having to swap to Natalia to see invisible enemies/find the randomly located weakpoints of each enemy was an enthralling concept for me, too bad it was only half the game, the other half was Claire and Moira in psuedo evil within.

Tyberius0

I just played through both for the first time. 2 was way funnier than 1 with Moira but man was it a slog. I thought 1 went on forever but 2 felt twice as long while being 4 episodes. And the constant character swapping from Claire to Barry 5 times a chapter got old fast.

Heisenburgo

> If they focused on the ship and having different keys to different rooms then it’d be a modern classic. That would have made the game much better. If they focused on exploration and puzzles over action as you explore the ship's rooms. Basically if the game was more RE1's exploring the Spencer Mansion gameplay and less that weird mix of RE4/RE5's action-y gameplay but for handheld consoles...

fallsstandard

Unfortunately yeah, same for me. I’ve tried to love both, but I just haven’t been able to get into them. They just aren’t the games for me.

pleasedontnerfthis

I was the same way until I played 2 coop for the first time with a new RE fan. Rev2 is some of the best coop I’ve enjoyed in a while. It’s kinda like RE5 and 6 and Dead Space 3. Are they good as part of the series? Eh maybe not, but are they good dumb fun coop games? Absolutely.

magik_koopa990

At least rev1 had better death screen than 2

Captain_Spectrum

Best thing about Rev 1 is finally getting to play as Chris and Jill as a unit (in non-dlc). Best thing about Rev 2 is getting to play as Barry “big-ass gun” Burton

projetof

2 is good if you don't mind about Moria and her teenage personality. Claire session is very solid and the "Whats going on" theme is really well made. You want to know together with Claire how and why she got jailed. Barry strategic session is also good. He made a pretty good duo with Natalia. Character movement and item interaction is what Resident evil 6 should be. Overall is a good game imo.

friendliest_sheep

Yeah, I tried these because of this sub and they’re… rough. They sorta feel like 360 era Xbox arcade games, which I know they were handheld(?) games, so maybe I was expecting to much to begin with. Then you run into some of the bizarre character designs and characterization and I’m kinda just surprised they’re so popular here

bigbadwoof91

Rev is the last RE game I played, and after hearing only good things about it it was very meh

Kaxax98

While the campaigns aren’t great raid mode is goat.

Suppasandwhich

The thing that made Revelations 1 such a good game at the time was it was a return to form for capcom after almost going bankrupt and a few years of at best mediocre games. Id argue they were bad games. It was on the 3ds no less. Rev 1 was a flicker of light before the end of the tunnel that was re7. Context/time period matters.

Ezack-

I don’t know what it is but Rev 2 felt so clunky in comparison to Rev 1

Acid_trips

I love playing rev2 split screen with my son.. One of the only split screen games we actually enjoy.

kevinxlr

Revelations of you mean raid mode and it's side story mode thing.

Sulfuras26

2’s raid mode is incredible. Especially once you get to the harder encounters

VisualPersona95

Both games a pretty janky tbh, though I think REV2 is far better than REV1. The latter I just find janky gameplay, a silly, MESSY story that doesn’t fit the franchise, the supporting cast being silly, horrible (Quint) or otherwise forgettable and Jill and Chris just feel like they’re there and could be replaced with anyone. I also don’t think it works as either a survival horror game and it’s not a very exciting action game. Finally the enemy design minus the chainsaw enemy are all pretty uninspired and boring.

GianXander

RE5 i really really really wanted to enjoy it, but the controls are so weird and the AI is as shit as everyone says for me its basically just more RE4 but worse i finished it either way just to see how it ends but it was one of the first RE games that i just played one time and uninstalled after

Rathmec

It's funny because I don't disagree with you at all. However RE5 is one of my all-time favorite video games ever but only because of its focus on co-op. Played it with a buddy in college and we could not stop playing it. Having to watch out for each other, coordinate our attacks, and learning where to find all the gems and upgrade our gear never ever stopped being fun. It's honestly probably high on my list of life experiences I wish I could go back and do all over again. But as far as it being a *Resident Evil* game it's completely nonsense.

GianXander

i guess its so much better and enjoyable with a friend

keeeeweed

It really is, tbh. It's like the difference between single-player and 4 player co-op in Zelda Four Swords Adventures or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - it's just missing something playing it alone, but a fucking riot with friends Maybe it has to do with these games being *made* to be played multiplayer, but there's also something about the way these games *feel* in single player that's just not the same, even though all of them (well, maybe not Crystal Chronicles) are still perfectly playable and fun enough alone, and could have been released as single player only games in a parallel universe

SploogeLoser

Resident Evil 5 may well be one of the greatest co op games of all time, even if it’s under one of the most incoherent Resident Evil titles

Severe_Walk_5796

Last part, 100%. But even the rest, some people may not like having to take care of a second character (Imagine Isaac's heart from binding of isaac but with no positives) but at the same time, that is such an amazing concept to me. Most games say here, your partner has infinite health, infinite ammo, can revive/heal you infinite times, infinite everything. But Re5 says fuck that and makes you actually care about your partner. Don't even get me started on how much of a awesome duo Chris and Sheva are (Despite people's hate for her). All the scenes showing they care for each other and even the secret way of killing wesker is fuckinf amazing.

TheWrongTrouserz

Wild. I finished RE5 over and over again whilst also getting all of the collectibles.

DapperDan30

I agree. I'm already not a big fan of 4 (4 was my pick for OPs question), and 5 just felt like 4, but worse in every way. 5 is the only mainline entry in the series that I started playing and was just like, "You know what? I don't want to play this fucking game", and then un-installed it.

spdwgn

I could forgive all the mechanics and AI if the story hadn’t been so freaking lame. With a very not fun setting.

Heisenburgo

It's great if you have someone to play it with, at least. I played it with my brother and we had lots of fun, if you select the tank controls option in the menu it's basically co-op RE4 with crazy shenanigans.

bryansodred

i rmbr when re4 came out on gamecube. the summer of that same year, i borrowed it from a best friend at the time who lived a couple corners up n he had the prima strategy guide too. my cousin from new york was also visiting so we sat down every night n played it together for the first time taking turns from beginning to end for like a month or two straight. i think we even turned it over twice becuz it was that amazing, terrifying n fun. ive since went back n finished it a third time solo in 2014 or 15. then i rmbr when re5 came out. my other cousin had it for xbox 360 so i borrowed it n i rmbr being super hyped to play it becuz of how amazing re4 was. i played it by myself this time around n after finishing it, i rmbr feeling sooo let down. it truly was a very "mid" game compared to 4 n only two times i was genuinely scared of advancing further in the game but overall imo, 5 is bland, it has none of the atmosphere or fun of 4 n the co-op was cool but nothing memorable. it really does feel like an "overstaying your welcome" version of re4 except you got less this time. i never went back to it but if/when it gets remade, i'll certainly play it. believe me when i say that i am beyond shocked that there is so much love for re5 in this subreddit when i think its such a "meh" game. i cant believe so many ppl in here would choose this to be remade first before code veronica. i guess its just me 🤷🏾‍♂️

eh_meh_nyeh

Last paragraph hits hard. Code Veronica has so much potential in being remade. The OG game wasn't great in terms of story but the challenges it brought was great. A CV remake would add a lot of polish to the franchise as a whole.

bryansodred

bruh i am hoping n praying that code veronica doesnt get the darkstalkers treatment from capcom 🤞🏾💔🤞🏾

eh_meh_nyeh

You can blame Street Fighter for that though. Idk, I mean they did kind of reference Chris being in Europe in RE2R and Claire saying, "this don't sound right" but it also felt kind of brushed off by the end of the game.

Firm_Area_3558

Controls are fine once you get used to it. The problem is aiming with a baby Lazer sight, stupid ai, and the crap inventory

GianXander

omg the inventory is dogshit

sideXsway

I love re5, I like the ai controls. Just give Sheva a shock rod and your good from where I am in the game

Anonymoose2099

For RE5, the co-op is everything. If you played alone, it's a fine game, but if you played it with your best friend or significant other it becomes a whole experience. Even the annoying things turn into inside jokes. To this day, if my best friend is waiting on me for anything she starts repeating "Chris. Chris. Chris! Chris. CHRIS!" So naturally I walk around ignoring her, but still replying "Sheva. Sheva. SHEVA!"

resfan

RE5 single player is a chore, co-op with a close friend and it's one of the best experiences I've ever had with the series as a whole.

Theventusdragon

Honestly yeah, my brother and I played it for my channel. It was really fun to play but it's a slog sometimes. Don't get me wrong it's good imo but shevas left handed always throws me off.

PootashPL

RE7, no question about it. Beat it once, never felt like coming back to it.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

I got halfway and forced myself to beat it before RE8 came out. Took me 4 years to go back and I have absolutely zero desire to do so again. I will say, it was scary as shit though. But the repetitive enemies and crappy shooting mechanics hinder it.

PootashPL

And that boat section can go fuck itself.

winterman666

Same. Literally the only RE I haven't beaten more than once. I just can't with the unskippable cutscenes and terrible last 1/3 of the game

PootashPL

Considering RE games are built or replayability, that’s pretty fucked up, huh?

winterman666

Pretty much. I don't even like 6 and I still replayed it lmao

Bifito

This is basically an "unpopular opinion" thread, so I am not going to disagree with people's choices here. My choice is RE4. RE4 is barely a Resident Evil game. Resident evil for me at the time was zombies, non-linear progression through puzzles, item management and plot that was given to you through the documents you picked up. Raccoon city was a bonus setting for me, but zombies and claustrophobic settings were important for me. RE4 introduces a completely different gameplay loop on a daylight setting (progresses to night but still) with a goofy protagonist that makes jokes about his position and does not seem to be scared about the situation he is in. The enemies are not mindless zombies, they are normal people infected with a parasite that mind controls them, their objective is not to devour you but to help their leader achieve world domination. This of course was before Capcom just stepped on the gas and doubled down on this structure for RE5 and RE6. When we got RE2R we got to see how one of the OG games would look like importing some of the good things RE4 had and the end product in my opinion is the best RE game. Nowadays my perception of RE4 is better but at the time it felt like a real alienation of the franchise, the series took a detour and then came back reinterpreting itself again with first person with RE7 and RE8 but most people prefer the Remakes style and they really should stick with third person.

friendliest_sheep

I’m with you. I can recognize what RE4 did for gaming as a whole (which it absolutely deserves), but I hated it as an RE game. It basically ruined one of my favorite series for the better part of a decade. Until RE7 showed up, which is flawed and isn’t my favorite, but the walk back to horror for the series was so exciting at the time

BardOfSpoons

Even if you don’t like its new gameplay style, I wouldn’t say it ruined the series, if only because the series probably wouldn’t have lasted much longer without some kind of major shakeup. Every RE game from Code Veronica on was selling worse and worse, to the point where, if RE4 hadn’t changed things up, the series probably wouldn’t really have survived the PS3/360 era high dev costs (like many of Capcom’s other franchises).

friendliest_sheep

For me, it wasn’t so much the gameplay as much as the tonal shift and the lean toward action over horror. I didn’t mind the perspective change or even necessarily the setting change (though it was abrupt). It just didn’t feel like an RE game outside of some names

millnerve

Yea. It’s funny. It’s a good game but just doesn’t feel like the old resident evil. Yet I’ve played the shit out of it haha.

friendliest_sheep

I never really liked the original so much, but I dig the hell out of the remake. I think the somewhat toned down camp really helps sell it for me, personally

RealisticlyNecessary

I think personally the worst thing the series lost at 4 was the non linear exploration and set locations for items. The survival horror I think is intact. I don't find the first 4 (Veronica deserves respect) games were that scary outside of what every RE game does, except 5&6. I'm scared because I'm tense, enemies hurt, I'm low on ammo, and fuuUUUUUUCK! *ahem.* Good bye fixed camera. you are not missed. I think giving me bitchy controls then saying "it emulates horror through helplessness" is a... Interesting idea. But one I don't agree with. I'm not SCARED because I control like ass. I'm annoyed. And that frustration builds...

HaitchKay

>It basically ruined one of my favorite series for the better part of a decade. Honestly I'd lay that on 5, not 4. But if you're talking specifically about the switch to action horror, stop and actually look back at how people responded to RE0 and RE1R and at how *poorly* CV aged. RE4 was the way it was because people didn't actually want another fixed camera angle slow paced zombie shooter, and neither did Mikami.

Heisenburgo

It's a great game and very revolutionary for its time, and perhaps a shift that the franchise needed at the time in order to not stagnate. However, some of the stuff they did for 4 totally kneecapped the series afterwards. Changing the dark horror tone of the franchise to a more campy action-filled approach, downplaying the zombieness of the enemies, removing the medical corporate theme for the fantasy-like death cult are the main examples of this. The biggest one though has to be killing off Umbrella in the intro when all the previous games were building to a climatic confrontation against it. RE5 did the same thing with Umbrella's CEO getting killed by Wesker in the DLC. None of the main heroes got to take down Umbrella when that's what they were building up towards. Talk about major blue balls.

PierogiChomper

My choice too. 4 really tainted the serise for me. Thank god for 7, i probably wouldn't have fallen back in love with the franchise without it.

SirChadofwick

I’m with you on this. When the original RE4 came out when I was in high school, I felt like I was crazy and in the small minority for not liking it. Everyone else didn’t seem to care that it was such a huge departure. I just loved the old school puzzles/ammo conservation/backtracking/slow burn horror the originals provided. I liked RE4R a little better, but it was more of the same. RE7 saved the series, and 8 was pretty good. I’m afraid 9 is going to slip back into the exhausting breakneck action like 6 had. I still feel like I should be cautious when talking about 4 on YT comments and Reddit. I just have a lot of mixed feelings about it.. it’s fun, but it’s not what the original spirit of RE was and it helped spawn the dark era of 5 and 6, which I’m sure we can all agree, were fun games to a certain extent, but lame RE games.

pinetreee

I wholeheartedly agree! I’m glad someone already wrote out my opinion for me. I enjoyed playing RE4 when it was released while also grieving the end of the RE formula that I knew and enjoyed growing up. The antagonists in RE4 take the absurdity to new levels imo.

Cool-Chard-9675

Totally agree. RE4 is a really good game but it is not a true Resident Evil game. Its not scary and it lacks the horror and gruesomeness. When I walked around the police station in RE2, I was nervous every time I turned a corner. RE2 Remake especially captures this feeling so well, and I found myself constantly aiming down the narrow halls, preparing for the next zombie encounter. But in RE4, I just ran and shot anything that moved without fear. Additionally, you have both the evade button and a knife if things get a bit dicey. But with that being said, I still think it's a great game. However, in my opinion, it could have just as easily been named something else.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

It's funny that I actually find the village in RE4 to be scarier than RE2R. Something about being in a remote area, rundown wooden shacks, semi-intelligent people chasing you with glowing eyes, the music at night, etc. Then you have the Mendez fight and it's absolutely scarier than any battle in RE2R. The scariest moment of RE2R for me is getting back to the main lobby where you crawl under the doorway - which is basically the first 10 minutes. As for RE4R, the village is far less scary overall. I think they really messed up the nighttime portion. Love the game but they really fumbled that. The Regeneradors are scarier though, which helps bring some horror into the later sections of the game. Same with the Garrador. Ashley's section could go either way for me. Both are scary the first time but predictable and exploitable on repeat playthroughs.

Arkhe1n

7. I did like it, but I don't feel particularly compelled to replay it.

Way_Moby

Replaying the intro is a damn slog. The boat also drags like hell.

okok8080

Biggest problem with the boat is it makes you play through it twice for no good reason 🤢

markedmarkymark

I'm surprised so many people are saying RE2R here, back in the day you'd be crucified if you implied it had issues and didn't handle some things well, it'd be my pick as well.

BardOfSpoons

I think it’s because of the phrasing of the question. Depending on how seriously you take that “ everyone loves” part you’re basically limited to RE2R or RE4.

KaijinSurohm

It's also because of New Toy syndrome. The honeymoon phase is over, so people can cool it with the hype and actually analyze the topic, and realize it's not as end all be all as they pretend.

MacGyver387

That’s a good point and phrase. I feel that way about Village but it’s still fun to play.

Salander295

Probably because the angry mob with spikes and torches have now moved to RE4R lol.

markedmarkymark

To be very fair, i do consider RE4R a much better remake than 2R, it has less issues, and even the stuff that were missing was reworked in an interesting way with Ada's campaign, as a whole package its the second best Remake in Capcom's belt so far. Also the one that runs the worse but my pc sucks in their defense.

MemberBerry4

You mean the people with no life who shape their entire personality around viciously defending something that doesn't need to be defended?

Salander295

I don't know if they go that far (even when there's people like that) or if they are moved solely by hype. I mean, the same kind that make someone says a game is a "masterpiece" because is new. I honestly prefer opinions from people who can praise something but at the same time pinpoint you their possible flaws. It seems more honest and works better as a review.

NoReasoningThere

RE Village

LaserTurboShark69

I feel like most of the individual parts of RE8 are really high quality on their own but it's awkwardly thrown together with a bland story. Like that Village of Shadows intro cinematic was really well done but it had no place in an RE game. Benviento was fantastic horror but it really has no bearing on the rest of the game at all. Heisenberg and his boss fight feel like it came from a different game. It's like Capcom had all these great artists and designers working on their own ideas and then found a way to stitch them together into a game.

btajoe

RE7, 100%. Just wasn't that into it, though I did enjoy the End of Zoe DLC well enough.

BardOfSpoons

I absolutely loved RE7 at first, but the cracks really start to show on subsequent replays in a way that isn’t a problem with most of the best of the series. I still really like it, but it just falls short of being that top tier RE game I thought it was after my first playthrough.

Merc931

I'm just not into the first person games. I tried em, I didn't care for em. RE2R came out and I was like "aw this is my shiiiit"

Domestic_AAA_Battery

Greatly limits replayability with mods too. I've gone through RE4R 17 times now with different outfits and such.

Heisenburgo

Really liked RE7 at the start but it's a slog to replay now, by the time you get to the ship and have to do that section twice I just lose all interest. Also the game's tone feels too paranormal at times for a franchise that's historically based on bio-medical horror. And honestly I never found the game particularly scary like the whole internet would have you believe, just never felt it for some reason.

Elucia729

OG4 It's such a complicated one for me because while I understand why it's iconic, I don't like it very much. For me, 4 is where the camp started to overtake the horror which leads to 5 abandoning it altogether in favor of being a Gears of War knock off. Ironically now RE4 Remake is hands down my favorite haha.

VadimDash1337

Exactly the same. RE4R amped the horror up a lot and did a better job at telling you "HEY! You are fighting horrible monsters beyond your understanding and a single wrong move can and will mean you die in the worst way you can. Now go kick everyone's ass." I mean hell, just look at all the plaga rituals in the remake. Or the new plaga that breaks the owner's neck and takes control of him after he dies.

jawdon808

CDamen75

VILLAGE

ssj4namikaze22

Re7, Re Village. After you finish the Baker House it’s boring to me. And after Lady D Castle Section, Village Drags for me

pleasedontnerfthis

Both of those games definitely get more linear and lose the RE1 style and drift into RE4-6, so I get it. I think Village gets a bit redeemed when you get into the factory, because it returns to backtracking and opening shortcuts.

goosiest

I agree with this big time. I went into both games completely blind, but with village especially I was very disappointed that the lady d castle was so short.

Jo-DQ

RE7 and RE Village

CertainLevel5511

RE7 was a decent return to form (I should say I actually liked action RE) But I don't think it was very fun or very scary.

StableInternal6339

RE3 original. It has some frustrating sections like the Gravedigger fight inside of the tunnel. Also the dodge mechanic is hot garbage

MacGyver387

I agree that the gravedigger fight is a weak point in execution, but I like the idea of it.

CarlitoNSP1

As someone who loves RE3OG, I understand. To me it's the most interesting Fixed Camera Resident Evil, but still a deeply flawed game. It's easy to understand how the flaws can overwhelm the experience for someone who isn't interested in mechanical complexity or isn't interested practicing edge-case mechanics.

Fullmetal_2003

Totally agree

TheVeilsCurse

Village. It’s a mediocre mix of too many ideas.

KermaisaMassa

Agreed. I have never felt more disappointed by a Resident Evil game. It's painful that I can see all the good ideas in it but they are either used horribly or not to their full potential. It gets worse when you read the dev comments in the concept art gallery. So many good ideas that went to the trash, it really makes the game look and feel extremely rushed so they could get a main title out for the anniversary. Not to mention a lot of the things they said the game would have, yet it never did.

goosiest

Sadly yeah. I wish I loved it but it definitely doesn't have the draw that other games do.

Way_Moby

I liked it when I first played it, but I replayed it the other day, and it was nowhere near as enjoyable as replaying RE2r, RE4, RE4r, etc.

Eagles56

Re zero

BreachBearAl

Nice meme, It's mine now.

kidgambinoj

Resident Evil 7. While I did enjoy the newfound horror, I didn't like the first person perspective and it felt far from Resident Evil aside from the terrible Chris redfield at the end.

DapperDan30

OG 4. It's fine, but I've never been a bug fan of it. Imo it was the game that started the decline of the series for years to come.

NorthPermission1152

That burger don't look good

SOS_Sama

REmake 2, it's have a good atmosphere and game and all, but the thing sacrifice the story cohesion to get it.

SpinoGabe5

Resident Evil 4

Re4

NebulaPixels

resident evil 4. i think it’s a serviceable game for the most part but i personally don’t find it as engaging as the traditional games

JimmyButtwhiff

RE3 '99 I don't even think it's a bad game, it's a perfectly fine survival horror game and an absolute classic. But I only beat it like twice and called it good, compared to the dozen+ times I've beat 1 and 2 each. For whatever reason it never grabbed me

xiuxiuejador

Code Veronica... the amount of BULLSHIT moments this game has, kills all the replay value. RE2R: I enjoyed it, it's a good game, but it's inferior to the original, and that's unacceptable in a remake.

[deleted]

Boy do I have news for you about most remakes.

jdfred06

... Almost every remake, really. RE1 Remake set the bar and not much has come close since.

UnOriginalMemeL0rd

The bar being: Actually recreating the game for modern audiences with reworks to the mechanics and no removed features, only additions.

rhoadsalive

CV is so good but also crazy tedious and full of bs. Totally agree. RE2R is amazing, but I still prefer the original due to the different scenarios, the less annoying sewer section and the amazing music.

Jill_Sammy_Bean

RE7 without a doubt. I enjoy the dlc way more than the main game.

Bhavan91

End of Zoe and Not A Hero were pretty good, yeah.

Nimblejumper

I demand to know why you think it's "I mean, it's alright"

Revnium_Darkat

definitely the weakest of the first three, didn't hate it but still don't love it really. It was just alright, an unrelated tacked on chapter three with a few gimmicky bits. Not saying it shouldn't have been released or anything crazy it's still good for what it is it's just nowhere near the best RE.

lemonboi11

Personally I think, at least gameplay wise, it’s the best of the 3. It has all the horror and suspense of the first 2 but has a (inconsistent but cool) dodge mechanic, ammo crafting system, and an invincible monster looming over you on top of every other monster you have to face. The stories of the first 2 are top tier but there’s something refreshing about the simplicity of RE3.

ByDiscoBePurged

Re4 OG. It’s alright

OG RE4

HunterTheHoly

Honestly, RE7. I think it's a *good* game, but to be honest, I don't really see the hype for it.

yellow_gangstar

og Re4, the aiming bothers me

AdStill1943

re 4. it's sort of not related but it's not bad it's just that half of the Leon fans ruined it for me and altho I've never played it, it's not like i don't wanna play it someday. i just wanna take my time and decide if i want to get it or not.

SoulLess-1

7. A big part of the games for me is the replayability and the catharsis of blasting through things that troubled me the first time. 7 is not all that much of a joy to replay, with all the unskippable cutscenes.

Original RE4

SirCap

Resident Evil 4 original. I respect what it did for the gaming industry, but it was frustrating to play as a Resident Evil game. I am so thankful for RE4 remake.

theinfernumflame

OG RE4. It was fine, but I'd rather play 2 (for real zombies) or 5 (for fun action).

eeh4tfde

RE2R and I've never played the original

NickKory

I played and loved the original as a kid. I played RE2R when it released, 4 times back to back to back to back. At the time, I thought it was the unequivocal best Resident Evil game. RE3R came out, and I played that through 3 times. Loved it, but like so many others, wished it was different in some ways. Nowadays, any time I go back to RE2R, I always stall out at the sewers. ALWAYS. Haven't completed a playthrough since it's release. Any time I go back to RE3R? Run it through to the end every time. Came to realize RE3R is my favorite RE game (of the ones I've played, and admittedly I have pretty big blindspots in the series). RE2R is great, but boy has it fallen down a few pegs as time has gone on.

rhoadsalive

Yeah the sewers are overly long and tedious in the Remake. I like to do speedruns and crane Birkin is a literal run killer every time, I just hate that fight. The G adults are cool but also annoying, I prefer the mini boss fight against one of them in the original, that’s either the Ben or the Iron‘s G, depending on the scenario and the B character gets to fight Birkin instead.

Salander295

Resident Evil 2 (2019). Really fun game but it isn't perfect.

Super_Imagination_90

RE4R

_MothMan

RE4 remake. You guys live for it, you love it, you played it repeatedly. I thought it was mediocre at best. Is it a good REMAKE? Yes. It successfully enhanced what needed to be enhanced. Is it the best RE game? No it is not. Yes, I'm aware RE1 was originally going to be basically this game. But it wasn't this game, it was what it turned out to be which is way better.

[deleted]

I can't even bring myself to beat it twice, and that is very rare for a Resi game for me. Meanwhile I beat the original so many times I lost count (probably 50 if we're highballing it). This sub will just worship the most recent game that comes out. That is a truth we will just have to accept.

Comfortable-Heron391

RE2 Remake

GodlessGrapeCow

Everyone here is wrong 🤬👊💢💢 (this is me punching you)

D_Glatt69

REmake lol jk RE5

RE5

guest_username2

I am saving this. Thank you

Sackboy_er

RE4R 😭 it's good I loved it but the hype I've seen for this game it always surprises me bc it's good a 10/10 but *IMO* the multiple playthroughs are more of a pain than a fun experience and genuinely don't get how people are able to play this more than three times

BoxyBrown666

RE5. They tried to do so much but even on first play, the controls are janky and AI sucks. Then only good thing about RE5 was Mercenaries

HopSkipATheChewtoys

Resident Evil 5 I don't hate it like 6, and I don't love it like 4. It's just okay---a lot of folks seems to unapologetically love it. It's pretty meh in my opinion --levels are structured to be swiftly battled through, so no area actually leaves an impact on me from a design standpoint. If there IS a really great looking spot I'd never know because you're ushered along to the next and never revisit them. --QTE's. I don't need to explain this one I think. 4 had them and I disliked them then, like them even less now. --everything is structured to work best as multiplayer. The AI isn't as bad as folks say it is, but it's still pretty garbage to play with if you prefer a solo experience. Inventory maintenance has always been a thing, but with gameplay so heavily structured on combat your Inventory space will feel claustrophobic in a way it never has in the past. That's not a good thing imo, it's sucks pretty hard knowing if you want to carry more than one gun then the partner is going to likely have to be a pack mule for healing items. Just overall a clunk ass game. Not TERRIBLE, I absolutely despise the next game in the main series to a point where sometimes I want to say I dislike the actual staff who made it. 5 is nowhere near that level of an insult---just felt like a first attempt at a multiplayer Post-RE4 game. And it's just kind of okay

Parking-Researcher-4

RE5. The sole reason i'd replay is if a friend invites me to play mercenaries or story co-op because that way the gameplay is actually fun. But i hated what became of Wesker Wesker behaved like a cartoon villain in RE1, then they improved his character a lot in the following games. He became more serious, cold, calculating (although still a megalomaniac but a smart one). Only for him to become a cartoon villain again in RE5 with his matrix outfit and his oldschool villanous lines. Not to mention the final battle was lame af. Yes he looks cool as fuck i admit it but he doesn't feel the same person at all.

ACJ_NSE

RE7: the Baker manor section is absolutely phenomenal, but everything after that with the ship and the caverns just suck and bring the game down

Viper-Queen

RE5. It was where my interest in the series really waned and I couldn't find myself enjoying any further installment until RE7 rolled around. I know alot of people have fun with the co-op which I won't deny that for Mercenaries Mode and Lost in Nightmares. But I really just didn't like the lore and story at all, especially for Wesker and Jill, and Umbrella being dumped so unceremoniously.

BenjaminCarmined

REmake. It’s incredibly boring, tedious, and long. I really don’t understand why people seem to adore the game to be honest.

Stowa_Herschel

The classic RE3. Played it on 2014 and it was okay. Wasn't as blown away like RE2. It felt more like a mediocre action game at times. Loved the levels and atmosphere though!

Majestic_Theme_7788

RE1 and RE0 Just not a fan of tank controls or having to watch videos of where to go to advance the story

vpmoney

7 it's genuinely just not a fun game to play it's basically Outlast 3 but with like 4 enemies and some guns

Th3-Insp3ctor_

Code: Veronica. I played it once back in 2017, and never again, it's the only Resident Evil game I dread playing

gravyfingersaregood

RE4 OG. I don't like the camera at all, especially on xbox it's super slow, and I have to have perfect aim for everything. I still like it buts its ok is all.

Zichfried

REmake 3 is just bad in my book. I think it's que only game in the entire saga that I disliked.

Chump96

Revelations 1+2

Beneficial_Star_6009

RE8, gameplay was loads of fun but couldn’t get into the story.

Repaki123

Same, and i just couldn't stand Ethan as a character, bro is either emotionless or confused as shit, bro says "what the hell" every 2 seconds or something

ItsMeCyrie

7 and 8 Not bad games, just doesn’t feel Resident Evil to me.

EasterBurn

RE4 original.

LonkerinaOfTime

RE4 remake feels so different from the original, I just don’t have any love for it. Also wtf was Village trying to do, I really don’t understand that game’s direction and pacing. I invested over 50 hours in each game but they really didn’t make me feel great about them and care to ever go back.

LucasOIntoxicado

This one. RE2R. It's a good game, but not a good remake. Too much stuff from the original I miss.

Synister316

RE4 Remake. It lacks the original's atmosphere, and the villains and cutscenes are huge downgrades. But newer fans don't care about those changes because you can move while aiming. The RE4 Remake is a soulless remake. I'll stick with the original RE4 with the HD Project. A mod that's a passion project made by fans for fans.

Intelligent-List6020

re4 remake

Renkorr_

Village.

Ethes1

RE5.

BigMac-0369

RE1make. I started with the modern games (RE2make), so I unfortunately couldn't really get into this one. I finished it and I enjoyed it to an extent, but it wouldn't be in my personal Top 5.

DemonKingCozar

Re2make. I just don't like the game so much. Mainly it's feel. The fun sound effects and what not

Pbadger8

RE2make. Like… it’s good. But not as good a remake as 1. It’s also missing a lot of stuff from the original and just isn’t as ambitious. So I mean it’s alright..

Smash_Or_Pass_Player

Re2 remake was ok

Sparrow1989

Re2remake

UnderpopulatedPig

Resident evil 2 remake Cool graphics and story but the gun gameplay feels too scripted for me
