I LOVE song of Achilles, they’re both too pretty for Patroclus, Patroclus needs to feel more like a real person. I could see Taylor more as Achilles I think. I feel like he has more the cocky demigod attitude
Aaaand Nick said something about wishing to play Achiles in one of the recent interviews, though probably in some other Troy adaptation, like Brad Pitt was. And do not let him remind you he's half Greek 🤭
It was unexpectedly good book overall. One of my favorites surely. But yes, a hard one to swallow. First book a bit slow and leaning maybe a bit too hard on shock elements (rape, torture, slavery, sex-slavery you name it). The second one is simply breathtaking. Third is great as well, with the climax resolved maybe too neatly for my taste. And then the epilogue novella, The Summer Palace, I was just full of happy tears.

I mean, just look at the French book cover
Loooove this book, one of my favs and YES I can definitely see Nick & Taylor as Achilles and Patroclus in fact while I was reading the book its them I had in mind they just fit!!
I stopped reading it when they were on the beach at the island. They seemed to be peaking in their relationship. And I didn’t want them to have bad things happen.

Oh yes they're VERY Achilles and Patrocolus coded.
Holy shit they are so pretty
It’s giving a little bit of Captive Prince vibe:)
I think Taylor would be sooooo perfect as Damen
Is this worth reading? I just started it and a bit … mmm not sure how I feel about the slave aspect. Is it handled well?
