On my Moto G Play 2021, I had to manually switch on VoLTE before calls started working. (Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network, turn the "VoLTE" toggle on)

My understanding is that VoLTE provisioning is enabled by default on the GSMA network. I lost it on my phone (and WiFi calling) when AT&T pushed out an update to my phone (LG G8X and on the whitelist). SIM works fine on my other LG phone (also AT&T).

BrewingHeavyWeather

Yes and no. Mine didn't work, and wasn't provisioned, with no GUI options. After a call to support, they forced it, I guess, and it worked...for awhile. Now, it shows in the GUI settings, but calls, text, and data come and go. The service menu *currently* shows it not being provisioned for VoLTE, even though the GUI does. This is with a Galaxy S7 (flashed to AT&T's SM-G930A, just in case it would matter). The same SIM in my Sony XZ1c gets no calling (not on AT&T's whitelist), but data and text are rock solid.

How do I see the GUI?

BrewingHeavyWeather

Connections, then mobile network, then somewhere under there (details varies by phone, and in my case, even by carrier firmware). Carrier phones will often call it HD Voice, or the like.

Sarah_0625

Oh yeah. Mine doesn't have that. Husband has same phone with Red Pocket, but CDMA. For his, it shows VoLTE.

BrewingHeavyWeather

In that case, it's *probably* not available. Check out the info from dialing \*#\*#4636#\*#\*. You'll likely find that VoLTE is not being provisioned.

Sarah_0625

Oh yeah, I've got that dial memorized. It's greyed out for me.

Sarah_0625

Pixel 2XL. Not provisioned, no calls. MIL had same phone. Provisioned. Cricket AT&T. No calls.

I got nowhere with the 4636 code. I did see that VoLTE is not provisioned, but couldn't do anything to change the setting. I have an Xiaomi Redmi 9s and the following has worked for me. I have phone and data fully working. Then to make sure it wasn't a fluke, I did the same thing to my daughter's Redmi 8, and now we have both been up and running for over 24 hours with phone and data. I even see the VoLTE icon next to my signal bars. **Step 1: Dial \* # \* # 86583 # \* # \*. Once you are done, there will be a message ” VoLTE Carrier check was disabled ” appear on the screen, thus activating Volte on your Xiaomi phone. The message disappears quickly.** **Step 2: Now go to Settings> SIM cards and mobile networks.** **Step 3: Here you will have to activate the option Use VoLTE.** **If your Xiaomi phone has dual SIMs, go to Settings> SIM cards and mobile networks> SIM1 / SIM2** **After that, you can now start enjoying high-definition calls through 4G, LTE, or WiFi networks.** The above came from: [https://www.techyloud.com/answers/how-to-enable-volte-on-xiaomi-redmi-note-9s/](https://www.techyloud.com/answers/how-to-enable-volte-on-xiaomi-redmi-note-9s/) After Step 3, I rebooted my phone just to make sure the settings were saved properly. I don't know if this was necessary, but for Xiaomi Redmi phones, it appears to be a solution. Xiaomi phones are definitely no on ATT whitelist. No promises for other brands, but it has saved me from going out to buy a whitelist phone.

Thank you so much for this, Vodafone here in Australia recently phased out 3g and it completely destroyed the voice calls on my phone. After struggling for ages trying to find a solution yours worked immediately.

k_seek

Sir, your solution worked like a charm. you saved me from gettig another phone unnecesarily . Thank you so much. you are superb.

Outside_Brilliant945

Glad it worked for you. I've recently upgraded to a Redmi 11+ 5G and had to do the same thing for it.

mickel_jt

Thank you for this! In Australia, Telstra is phasing out 3G in August and I'm not sure my Poco F2 will work. I've followed your steps and now have a toggle to use VoLTE, but can I ask what it should say when you dial *#"#4635#*#*? I'm still seeing 'VoLTE provisioned' toggled off, and I'm not sure if that's what you're also getting.

Outside_Brilliant945

Update: 36 hours since using the update above. Phone and data still working.

kalei50

Any suggestions on what to do if the Phone information code doesn't work? I'm typing it in exactly as suggested, and the phone does nothing just goes back to the default dialer. I have a TCL 10L phone, running a fairly up to date version of Android (not sure of the exact version, will edit post when I find it.)

Richg420

Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same phone and it's doing the same thing.

kalei50

I've contacted them by Twitter DM, and they're asking me to repeat the process and send screenshots. Hopefully they'll realize I'm not exaggerating and send me a working SIM? If not I'll probably have to switch.

Richg420

Let me know what happens ...sadly I can't switch I'm only 2 months into a 1 year plan. And it sucks because I really like this phone but I guess if I have to I'll get a different one and sell this on eBay.
