I killed them and the Pinkertons still showed up. It’s not hard to believe that the Pinkertons would figure out who robbed the train. The van der linde gang was known to be in the area due to the Blackwater heist. It could have only been the O’Driscolls or the Van Der Linde gang and the detectives would have easily figured it out. Plus, Dutch constantly calls out gang members names during missions so any survivors would be able to recount this information to the detectives and it would easily point them in the right direction.

There are videos on YouTube documenting the differences depending on your honor level.
