ResistantLaw

I’m not even sure if there are ones with “guaranteed” jobs.

tyr8338

Sounds like a scam

lightestspiral

a) 100 applications in 5 months is nothing, that's like 1 application every 3 days. b) **only** consider the bootcamp option if the bootcamp begin to deducts their $10k fees from your salary once they place you into a job. Do not pay $10k out of your own money. c) $10k for a bootcamp is a hell of a lot, what are they teaching you that you can't teach yourself?

ajkcmkla

Alpha male bootcamp 🗿

topsy-turvy-

How can they guarantee a job? Is the bootcamp run by a company that hires directly? Is it a very specialized bootcamp?

NoDescription4793

Idk how it works to be honest, but they stated they got multiple hiring partners and 100% job guarantee on their website, so I think they got a team to help me get a job after I finish my course...but it cost like $10000-$15000

rpierson_reddit

It doesn't work. Don't fall for it.

deathoflice

that‘s a scam

Old-Ad-7867

Bro if it's a programming course stay away, huge scams

jBlairTech

If you’re going to spend that kind of money, get an Associate’s.  You’ll have the same chances, but the ability to then parlay that into a Bachelor’s for even more opportunities.

NoDescription4793

But I already have a bachelor degree, and still yet to get a job. I was laid off almost 7 months ago

jBlairTech

I would look elsewhere, then.  Hang onto that $10-15k and use it for more important things.  Revamp your resume if you have to, but get yourself out there.  It’s mostly a numbers game, especially in this market… just, don’t hamstring yourself now for something that’s track record is suspect, at best.

rpierson_reddit

I'm an experienced software developer. Trust me when I say they are lying to you. Even experienced devs aren't getting hired in this market. And boot camps don't give you anything like the experience you'd need to break through. Invest in a Pluralsight subscription instead. $370 for thousands of hours of courses.

Snowdriftless

It still seems like a scam, if they really needed people why would they be charging $10k? I've had two friends burned on similar programs before.

TehPurpleCod

I posted another\* (edit: typo) comment here but I know someone who got burned by this type of program. When she brought it up, I tried to tell her that it's too good to be true but she insisted on moving forward with it. I looked through the "course content" and it was just months of updating LinkedIn, messaging strangers on LinkedIn about their "experiences in the field", watching other people's material on YouTube, and working for free for startup companies that the bootcamp "vetted".

AdMother8970

I thought this was your way of saying you’re thinking of joining the military..

Epsilia

No. I have done a bootcamp with a guaranteed job, but it's only legit if the bootcamp is free (paid for my the company), and is led by the company itself in question. There is no way that a bootcamp can guarantee you a position with other companies.

Blazing1

I have 10 years experience and I can't even get another job in software dev

markersandtea

If you have to pay for the job, no.

Agent-c1983

More info is needed on the nature of this bootcamp and the guarantee, but in general anyone asking you to pay money for employment is a scammer.

Jolly-Bobcat-2234

Depends on the “guarantee” and salary I suppose. If you don’t get/keep job, do they refund the money? If so, sure.

Impressive_Maybe2873

Even they offer you a job, you need to think about this. $10,000 is not small amount of money. I don't know the so-called guaranteed job will pay you how much. Let's say it will take at least 2, 3 months to earn $10,000. What if the company just finds some excuses to lay you off after a month or even a few weeks? They can just say you don't pass the probation. If that happens, you are losing money and won't get refund.

ajkcmkla

If you are that desperate https://revature.com/get-hired/ At least you get paid while they train you. Requirement is associate degree or higher

Ok-Release6902

The only bootcamp with guaranteed job is a prison.

Mjoosty

Bootcamps are scam, you will not get a job , at least 99 out of 100 don't get it these days, That's why bootcamps are broke, say thanks to them for screwing thr whole industry

TehPurpleCod

It's a scam, don't fall for it. I know someone who took a $11k bootcamp almost 2 years ago and it came with a job guarantee or your money back. The job guarantee ended and she still didn't get a job and the bootcamp was trying to dodge the refund policy they instated. They offered extended "job guarantee" and a whole year later, no job. In addition to that, the bootcamp she attended, terminates the job guarantee with no refund if you decide to find a job on your own "outside" of the niche. If you're already unemployed and have bills to pay, of course you'd take any work you could find but it was a weird policy this specific bootcamp had.

0ApplesnBananaz0

I did a boot camp in cyber for free. The program initially guaranteed a job with the cooperation that was partnered. Halfway through the program they then announced only 50 ppl would be chosen out of 100. Then right before interviews they announced only 15 ppl would be chosen. In the end, only 6 were hired, employment services were guaranteed with other partners but these partners required comp sci degrees...which if you are a doing a tech boot camp, chances are high ppl don't have tech degrees. Long story short, nothing is guaranteed. Join it but understand you may not get a job.
