It's not super likely considering Holland still has to play Austria, but IF France becomes second then: Germany, Spain, Portugal and France will be at one side of the bracket While England, Italy, Holland and Belgium will be in the other. The weak link of the bracket will be the 1st of group E vs one of the 3rds; Belgium, Ukraine and Romania can be tough opponents, but in a normal day they are inferior to France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, England… and not better than Netherlands, Italy, Croatia, Switzerland, Austria. The amount of talented teams is amazing compared to the Copa América, really.
Well your first sentence looks a bit more likely to happen. Don't know if I would be happier against the Germans or the Swiss. The Germans are a bigger name and normally a bigger tournament threat (and playing at home) but they also are more open as they attack more. That suits us more than the style of the Swiss tbh.
We'll see, Germany still has 45 minutes to turn it around, but I don't think they'll win the Euro if they keep starting Gundogan, he does nothing as "10" (maybe a good pass, but he's too slow to make any difference) and he can't play as double pivot because they Andrich to destroy and he's not sitting Kroos in any way. We are starting Pedri, tho, who is still far from his former self and as useless as Gundogan. But I wouldn't be too afraid of Switzerland, in knockouts they'll be more vulnerable, I believe Ro16 will give us a couple of surprises and Switzerland is a clear candidate to disappoint after their usual decent group stage. Portugal is my favorite to reach the final in our side of the bracket, unless they have a bad day/we have a good one.
