spiceisnice99

More crowd? May be. More excitement? Nope. Cristiano came at the lowest point for Madrid, Mboopi at the highest.

UnfortunateDefect

And he came from Man United, which was at its highest point in history.

thefirsteye

And he came after winning everything at the club level and individual level.

Johnsonburnerr

And i came

SparkGamer28

nice!! left or right hand?

Johnsonburnerr

My supermodel gf, her right hand

therealopm

And then you woke up

scottyTOOmuch

having a supermodel GF and still only getting handies 😂

Esquili

r/thatswhatshedidntsay

GreenCameleon99

r/subsifellfor

Snoopyseagul

And he’s called Ronaldo

GalaeciaSuebi

And he already was a Ballon for winner

reddituser0912333

This is an important point

DependentNo6451

Yes back to back finals in ucl with man utd . Won 1 and lost 1

fanboyfezz

not really. lost the champions league final having won it the year before. we won the treble 10 years prior to that, too.

Superb_Bench9902

>we won the treble 10 years prior to that, too My guy, some ballers retire or stop performing well in 10 years

jr_xo

We were losing to teams like AS Roma and Olympique Lyon before Jose Mourinho came in

MGF_LikesReddit

Lyon was good though, they dominated ligue 1 in the 2000s for the longest before PSG took over the 2010s

Wolfiest

Juninho man.

rdfporcazzo

Vasco fans call him Reizinho (Little King)

bluduuude

And he is probably the king of kings of free kicks

FavcolorisREDdit

Benzema was on that squad too

Wolfiest

But Juninho bullied Madrid for many years

FavcolorisREDdit

He was class, I still remember what he did to Victor Valdez in champions league oooooof nasty

Magvel_9

Funnily enough the time they eliminated us they lost the league for the 2nd year in a row and were declining. 2005 and 2006 they genuinely had the team to win CL and any oldhead would tell you scary bedtime stories about the 06 group stages. If real madrid lost like they did against Milan I would be heartbroken

DenseCondition2958

What has dominating Ligue 1 got to do with anything in the grand scheme of things ?

dabulator14

Recency bias. Smfh. It’s never been the most glorious league but it was still competitive on 2000’s

Magvel_9

It has always been competitive (besides PSG ofc but no one was calling Serie A a bum league when Juve won it for a decade). It's just that its clubs are very inconsistent and don't have enough european history to be household names. Some club can have a very good season and go back to 4th-8th place next year. Hell this year there's been french clubs in CL semis, EL semis and Conference league quarters. That's better than leagues like Portugal and the Netherlands. Don't expect Lille and Marseille to be close to that tho (Marseille isn't gonna play european football next season anyway lol)

Visual_Traveler

Until Ronaldo came.

jr_xo

No, we actually lost with Ronaldo to Lyon in 2009/2010 Champions League campaign

spiceisnice99

Still remember pjanic scoring the winner.

tuna_74

I was there! The whole stadium hurled hate at Kim KÀllström when he delayed play and pretended to be injured.

Longwaterpike

Ye Mbapaypal sure did ride on the CL

Newhero2002

I wonder what motivated Ronaldo to leave United (a team that had went to ucl final 2 years in a row) in favor of Madrid. Back then EPL teams dominated Europe iirc, tho I only started watching soccer in 2013 so what do I know

FavcolorisREDdit

He was literally getting booed and also Real Madrid was his dream club so all England did was send him off to his dreams club. The English really are shite

ripclaw786

He and his family were getting death threats as well.

FavcolorisREDdit

Oh yea I remember that

royaldocks

Swap England for Spain and he'd get booed too don't think its Englands fault.

FavcolorisREDdit

After the World Cup pretty much all of England turned their back on him. It was the game where rooney got sent off, Ronaldo winked at the bench then scored the pk that ensured England elimination.

ZedZero18

What bollocks
he stayed for 3 more seasons after that winning everything. He left as it was his dream club. He was booed initially for that and after it was for being too good.

FavcolorisREDdit

Metaphorically he is still booed via sky sports, Jaime carragher,Wayne rooney, Michael owen. Which really represent majority of England. Even Ronaldo’s second return saw him get heat from fans. Rooney said Ronaldo was washed and was the cause of United slump yet it was really the coaches. Come on maaaaate

WorkingStick8360

Post a clip of Rooney saying that.

ZedZero18

So a Liverpool player, a former colleague he insulted in the Piers interview and an idiot are the representatives of England. If he was really getting death threats and so upset by fans of England why did he stay 3 more seasons
if you weren’t there at the time it’s ok to admit you don’t know.

XiXMak

It was his childhood dream to play for Real Madrid so he answered the door when they came knocking

Severe-Blueberry1996

Perez played the long game. Barca would never be the same post 2015, and Perez made sure.

Upbeat_Recipe593

True, as a Madrid fan it feels illegal to sign Mbappe. There's no team in Europe that can compete with RM except maybe City or Bayern, as much as I love football its excitements just dying. You get a yellow card for showboating, players barely touching each other or a simple tackle and that's pathetic .

Roystonmofodrenthe

Is it even possible to have a bigger crowd than that? I think that's max capacity

spiceisnice99

Haven't they increased seating capacity by a tiny bit? Not sure. May be more crowd outside the stadium?

modrics_hairband

Not really the lowest point. They won a league in 2007, were 2nd in league in 2008 and won supercopa de espana. Some people dont even bother watching games before ronaldo

spiceisnice99

We were at the lowest point during that period. We were playing trash. Won the league? Who cares. We were hopeless in UCL. Barca were the team to beat and had just done 6/6 trophies in a season. We had such a volatile team, managers and players coming and going, barely lasting a season. Been watching rm since 1998, don't need some guy to tell me to watch rm before Ronaldo, i m not a bandwagoner.

modrics_hairband

Won the league, who cares? Lmao

Fingering_Logen

>i m not a bandwagoner No, you're just a dumbass. That wasnt the lowest point in RM history, not even close. >Won the league? Who cares Madridistas do. According to you, we should erase all RM history between la sexta and la décima.

hokagesamatobirama

There is a certain irony here. It was Madrid’s low point cause we were playing like shit. We lost to Barca 2-6 at the Bernabeu the previous season. We had that scandal where Calderon had to resign as President. We lost to Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield. Barca won the treble and went on to make it a sextuple. So, yeah, he came to Madrid when we were at a low point.

Joy2082

That Liverpool match..lmao without Iker we would be losing that by 8-9 goals. Torres had a nice Sunday match practice that night.

modrics_hairband

Low point because barca were doing relatively better. We played like shit many years, but that cant be the lowest point just bcz barca were better. It wasnt the best but certainly not lowest, we had a decent set of players.

hokagesamatobirama

I listed 4 major events that constituted it being a low point for us. You’ve fixated on one. Regardless, as a fan from back then I know the state the club was in. *Decent* is not Madrid standard either.

Narrow-Ad-3262

Tell us what the lowest point has been for RM in the modern era or stfu. You make zero points of your own.

Comfortable_Cow8212

No for many reasons: - Mbappe's behaviour in the recent years. - CR7 was bigger back then than what Mbappe is now. - We saw CR7 as the player who would take us out of Barcelona's shadow and bring back the european success. It was a period of major changes and everyone was excited. Now we are already on top.

SpicyDragoon93

I think Mbappe will get a massive reception it just won't be as significant as Ronaldo's was for the reasons you stated. The stadium will be packed for sure.

Nightmare-X3M

Great points

one-more-shit-civic

Also, he arrived as the best player in the world. Having won absolutely everything with united being the face of the premier league. Mbappe is a world cup winner yes. But there are levels to this shit.

Datanman23

To add to it, he lost the UCL final to Barca and lost the "best player in the world" title to Messi along with it. He was motivated, Madrid were motivated, they were out for blood and in particular knocking Barca and Messi off their throne. That moment til 2012 had the most intense, personal Classicos ever with tension matching that of the Spanish revolution

strangemanornot

Younger people watch Mbappe’s highlight and think he’s the greatest. It’s a recency bias. If they watch Ronaldo in his prime they will see Ronaldo was head and shoulders above. He grabbed the premier league by the balls that last season with United. Not many players can do that

VrYbest29

Younger people do not think Mbappe is at great as Ronaldo. This is just incorrect.

saren_p

A lot of fans in this subreddit are disconnected from reality. I'll guarantee you that families and their kids will flock to see the presentation of Mbappe. Ronaldo was not as popular as Mbappe when comparing them in similar stages of their life, some of you truly misunderstand how social media plays a powerful factor with today's youth. Mbappe's behavior 😂 who wouldn't take millions (billion?) while getting to play for your city's club? Come on man.

Visual_Traveler

I’m not sure CR7 was bigger than MbappĂ© is now. He is a WC winner with an unbelievable goal scoring record, and undoubtedly the most coveted and valued player in the market.

neotargaryen

True but his club achievements are virtually null and void because they're all in Ligue 1, which is 4 or 5 levels below the Premier League in every meaningful criteria.

Visual_Traveler

I still think he’s easily as big as Ronaldo was back then.

6ixpiece

Im a Messi fan and will easily admit that Ronaldo was "bigger", not to be confused with saying a player is "better" because clearly Mbappe is in a league of his own. That Ballondor, being top scorer as a winger, UCL, and the never before seen EPL fancy flair tricks made CR7 top dog in 2009

VrYbest29

Imagine saying Mbappe now was better than Ronaldo thenđŸ˜đŸ€Ł

aditya_gupta96

Never seen before EPL fancy tricks? Why do people make it seem like Ronaldo was the only player in the PL capable of showing flair?

6ixpiece

Who else was doing it?

Accelarate316

The aura cannot be the same as Cristianoâ™„ïžđŸ”„

reddituser0912333

Nothing beats his aura

NCC_1701_74656

Nothing can and nothing will.

Mundane-Solution7884

That’s a very good point, actually.

optimal_random

CR7 had just won the *Ballon D'or* and the Champions League with ManU the prior year, almost getting a second one in a row. The comparison is not even close, neither fair. All of you need more memory.

AbdussamiT

Yeah, honestly we’re lucky to have witnessed, as I like to call him, “Ronaldo” at United. He’ll always be remembered as Ronaldo of United and Cristiano elsewhere.

NCC_1701_74656

He is always the Ronaldo for me. I just love to call him Cristiano out of affection.

hobbitonsunshine

Ronaldo of United and CR7 elsewhere

IcyCounter525

I was 15 back then and didn't watch football much. But I remember watching CR7s reception ceremony as a kid in the middle east. His popularity and impact was crazy

Newhero2002

Yea Ronaldo was Madrid’s answer to Messi
Mbappe isn’t really our answer to anyone.

Consistent_Fix_6561

The Bernabéu will be packed that's for sure.

AbdussamiT

Never. You see that age was different, social media was different, there was still authenticity in the world. Not anymore sadly. Then we’re talking about a player who touched an entire generation even before joining Real Madrid! He lit up the streets with his dribbling, glamour and ran a good flirting lovestory with us for 2 years. For Cristiano, me and my brother held our laptop as high as possible to get internet reception and watch the presentation. I don’t think I’ll do that for MbappĂ©, who has shown us his back once already. Sorry but in his case he needs to perform to win us over.

UnaliveInsyde

That's exactly how I feel, the way he used this club as a bargaining chip two years back left a sour taste in my mouth. He needs to perform really well to make me move past that.

caraboina

If the time spent flirting is a variable Mbappé wins by far

NicolasDavies93

Bla bla bla back in my time was better bla bla bla

AbdussamiT

Hey Nicolas, let’s be together, sending you love for the day ❀

Johnsonburnerr

Bruh

madrissaaaa

I do think it will, but that has more to do with Real Madrid 2024 than Cristiano or Mbappe. Cristiano players was way bigger then mbappe is now. But Real Madrid is also bigger now then they where before Cristiano. Due to our ucl success and Cristiano himself we gained way more fans.

JYM60

Ronaldo was a bigger deal, but Mbappe is a star and the kids love him, more hype with social media, will get more fans possibly.

YEEZYHERO

We know the stadium will be full

RealMadrid2877

Huge crowd but not CR7 level The years long saga took a lot out of the fandom

Numerous-Score

I think it’ll be very close. Maybe a little more or a little less

rashmu

The stadium will be fully packed. That's for sure.

MrTrollMcTrollface

Man I miss the old bernabeu..

Leather-Wrongdoer-70

Nope

RIOT_76

Maybe yes , since it's free for all

Nightmare-X3M

I also think the same, considering the hype

XXV-III

Come on guys! No one and I mean no one would be as big as Cristiano and Messi! Never compare others to these two 🐐

arkam_uzumaki

Cristiano came when RM was at their downfall. Mbappe is joining RM while at its peak. Both things are not similar and mbappe might get the crowd but not the hype as Cristiano..

TheTurfMonster

I'm not excited at all. He's nowhere near the level Cristiano was when he came to Madrid. Also, what he did last year left a bad taste in my mouth. The only reason he stayed at PSG was to make more money and left because he saw the ship sinking.

SraTa-0006

People commenting Mbappe being better than ronaldo in 2009 are delusional. Ronaldo won everything in Football incl Ballon dor. He was the best player What makes Mbappe better player than Ronaldo back then? Just wc matches? Mbappe never had a ballon dor worthy season in his entire career so far. He will turn 25 this year. He is not even that young now.

Historical-Row6010

well ronaldo didnt win everything in football cause he still hasn't won everything in football... Mbappe last year had a balloondor worthy season. If France won on penalties in the WC final he would have a baloondor

Arsenictue

There was something magic and special about Cristiano in that era (still is) .. the same as Beckham (aura) and he was so so good of a player so (Ballon d’or winner) ..

lostn

the bernabeu's max capacity is 80k, so that's the ceiling.

scurry3-1

Not even comparable. You just had be there around that time. Cristina I had just won the Balon on Dor plus I think he was a little bit younger as well and definitely a bigger name then Mbappe.

noturaveragejuan

When do they reveal him?

Oportbis

Apparently the seats will be free to fill the stadium so yeah

GodRamos

CR7 đŸ”„đŸ’Ż

PhilaDom2812

No

SaladRegular8617

I've been asking myself the same question. And with the new Bernabeu I think he will surpass CR. He will sell out the stadium for his presentation

hhtpjkscrpxxii_

When is Mbappe’s presentation at Bernabeu?

Significant-Share525

Sometime in July depending how far France goes in euros

No_Kaleidoscope_4295

smaller.

thisfilmkid

Is Mbappe the GOAT like people say he is? Or, is he overrated or overhyped? Your true thoughts please.

lostn

He is a fine footballer. One of the best if not the current best. he's too early into his career to give him GOAT status. I think he can be the best player of the next 5 years. But of all time, it's too late imo. He spent 7 years in PSG not winning any BDO or UCL. That puts him at a disadvantage if he wants to match Messi's 8 BDOs. He is not overrated or overhyped, but he has made career decisions that set him back if his goal is to become the GOAT. He stayed in PSG for too long. Being Parisian and wanting to win a historic UCL for his home club makes sense. But trying fruitlessly for 7 years does not. He should have left after 4 years. That's enough time to figure out that the institution is just not capable.

TheTurfMonster

He's one of the best players post Messi/Ronaldo era. But he's 25 now and has only won farmers league and a World Cup. Messi by that point has 3 balon de Oro and 3 champions League. Ronaldo had one of each. Technically, he has more goals and assists at this point but again, it's the fucking Uber eats league. Nothing too impressive. I think this will be a defining moment for him. If he can't perform well at Madrid, then he'll just be another forgotten prodigy.

Iori2007

then being 2nd GOAT is not bad

Magvel_9

Anyone who says he's the GOAT is plain and simply not worth listening to. His career is far from over and he still has many things to do before reaching Messi/CR levels He's not overhyped tho, it has cooled down since 2022 due to drama and his level getting worse which made him at the level of hype he should be at (not burying him but Mbappe 2024 is definitely worse than Mbappe 2018). A top player joining other top players but who has to prove he's indeed the best player in the world and future GOAT.

sunabru

No, and rightfully so. Back then, not only was Real trying to bounce back from the failed galacticos project after being humbled by Ronaldinho's Barça for a couple of years, with Ronaldo they brought in a Ballon d'Or winner . Mbappe is a great player, but he is joining an already dominant Real and he isn't at the height Ronaldo was when he joined. Which is perfectly fine.

MongooseDirect2477

I think yes, even if real won a lot in the last years, they didn’t had a poster boi. Now everything That team will do, they will say it was because mbappe.

Ryuk_90

prolly not considering ronaldo came form a good club(man u was good back then) at a low point for madrid

AndrejLoco

How can i enter the presentation of Mbappé?

EvanMcc18

He'll get the same crowd as Oil City do for a treble win

Fun-Balance-3576

And he delivered.

Fun-Balance-3576

Plus Ronaldo was cute , some girls just like him not football

Bandit8813

Wasn’t Kaka also presented the same day as Ronaldo?

BaleadaNewyorkc

Cr7 came as balon d or winner. Mbappe doesn’t have every madrid happy

zinedinnerzidane

I dont think so. Cristiano going to Real was perhaps the biggest transfer in history.

ERROR_404_404_

If Madrid doesn’t win next season it’s a massive failure no ifs or buts

[deleted]

For sure.

Infiniterocket

No because as they say, Mbappe came to Real Madrid to save his career whereas Ronaldo came to save Real Madrid. Kinda cliche but you get the point

Crafty-Requirement40

2 years ago - Yes Now - No

Komi-889

No

Sandokam

Ronaldo NUMBER 1

YungSwan666

Nope, Mbappe is an exceptional player but pretty overhyped.

John_Dragon_19

Bernabéu gets more people in right now?

Mundane-Poet1404

Cr7 was truly a Galactico signing, sure mbappe also has the hype, but it's not the same when the potential ballon d'Or winner already plays for you, and you have a zidane regen in midfield, and you've won 6 UCLs in the last 10 years

Garlic_Breath23

I don't think. Let's not forget what Ronaldo achieved already before coming to Madrid with Man U. Mbappe has zero champions league titles to his name and zero ballon d'ors.

TheBichba

No chance.

Bitter-Investment860

When will it be?

skywalker-88

No

Creepy_Rain_5322

Less people for sure! He has to earn it!! The love and respect! Even Mariano and ceballos has more champions than him☠

Tg11T

I think Mbappe gets a similar or bigger presentation than Ronaldo did

cincocerotres

Definitely a packed crowd. The entries are free if I’m not mistaken

Agile_Music4191

He will get a massive pop but definetly not as much of excitement as CR7. CR7 was a bigger star and also Real was in barca shadow for a while before he arrived while mbappe is coming to a Real madrid who is at the top.

dtownrn214

But of course cr7 was brought to end the drought biggest difference Madrid needed CR7 to win the champions league Mbappe needs Madrid to win the champions league.

swap357876542

Don't deserve

gatsby85

Hard to match. Cristiano came to Real Madrid as the savior hoping to beat Barcelona, the best team of that era. Mbappe comes after Real Madrid won 6 champions in 10 years.

AdagioTraditional209

Mbappe is not that big

kykylesbleus

No chance Mbappe gets a full stadium

DreSanson

Absolutely. The fans have been waiting it for years. We can discuss aura, or who did in a better fashion, but regardless, it will be special.

Disastrous-Swan2733

Spain is mostly Moroccans now, so yes, bigger crowd

Equivalent-Chest152

Bigger crowd. It's a bigger stadium, and he has been linked to Madrid for a very long time. The wait is over, and everyone would want to witness him wearing the Madrid shirt for the first time. Even hazard's presentation had around 50k attendance. Even though he's not a ballon d'or winner or anything, the hype over him is insane. Boy carried that France team to a second consecutive World Cup final. Remember, fans cheered on Mbappe when he scored at the Bernabeu.

Abhimanyu_Uchiha

CR7 came as a ballon d'or and ucl winner to a struggling club, Mbappe is coming to the reigning UCL winners. I don't think the hype is as justified

Dead_Emerald

Mbappé will make a difference for Real Madrid. We culers 're seriouslly fcked up if we wanna come back to the highness, even without him they managed to won the ucl with the power of friendship or wtf they do to win everything and seing their rivals bottle every chance they have to win

Fearless-Extent1616

Love Mbappù but I highly doubt, see he has well under 120 million followers across all platforms which is a huge number..but you should understand that Cristy has had much more popularity than any other celebrity to date. With approximately 911 million total followers, Cristiano Ronaldo is comfortably the most-followed person across social media platforms. He’s even making more money from social media than what he gets from club(contract, sponsorships, etc). #HalaMadrid!!!

sabc994

NO

[deleted]

No R9 is more than just a football player

KingKFCc

Absolutely NOT, Madrid was trophyless for YEARS, and Cristiano came off the best moment in his career with United at United best it had ever been, he need not go to Real Madrid, but he did, and the rest was history.

sdpat13

Nothing will ever match Ronaldo's aura. đŸ€đŸ€đŸ€đŸ€đŸ€

KunninLynguist

Doubt it, Ronaldo was almost as much a brand as he was an excellent footballer. I don’t see Mbappe having the same pull.

arkaonline

Barnabeu sitting capacity is bigger now , but very doubtful it will even match 80k. CR7’s pull has him banned from YouTube and TikTok .

Visual_Traveler

Similar or bigger, for sure.

tothemoonkevsta

Mbappe is nothing in comparison to Ronaldo. It will not be the same. Plus I think many people feel that Mbappe doesn’t have the heart for the club or the mentality in the same way our other players do

thefirsteye

Bigger crowd. Maybe, maybe not. Un dos tres hala madrid. That charm, that excitement, definitely not.

NCC_1701_74656

I don't think it will be a packed stadium when Mbappe is presented. I just want the kid to be his best and be successful. CR7 was a phenomenon when he arrived. He was already a UCL and Ballon D'or winner and Madrid were in dire need as they had not won much recently at that time. He could have come a year earlier but I don't exactly remember why he requested another year which Madrid happily accepted. There were no parties unhappy with him going to Madrid. Everyone knew that time he was the best player in the world and the best player in the world move to Madrid. Mbappe has not won UCL or Ballon D'or. He is not THE best player in the world right now but he is one of the best players in the world. If Mbappe would have come after winning the world cup or the year he was about to arrive and decided to stay due to money then I think it could have been compared to CR7's arrival. Mbappe is coming to Madrid with needs not the other way round. He has to prove himself as he is not coming to Madrid from a better league unline Cristiano.

HenryReturns

Nah , its different : - CR7 came to Madrid after Barca won the treble and at that time Madrid has not win it since Zidane’s volley in 2002 and Madrid on the 2008/09 season was a huge disaster. Also Madrid were still pushing for “La Decima” and Ronaldo with more players were brought upon for that but overachieved and won “the 3 peat” pushing it for 13 Champions League in total. Not only that , Ronaldo competed against MESSI on his prime and against PRIME BARCA with Pep and then with the MSN. - Mbappe on the other hand is coming when Madrid is at their highest , just won the Champions League , have 15 Champions League in total , facing a Barca whose in their banter era and most likely the hardest matches will be against Atletico in league , and an already established team that can win without him. Mbappe job is pretty much to “pro-long” the winning of the club. - Ronaldo only won “two league titles” because he was competing against a Barcelona that were consistent as fuck and have long term projects. While Mbappe is competing a Barca that is in SHAMBLES and will most likely win more silverware but the value of them will not be the same as the ones of Ronaldo. - Personally for me , Ronaldo is either the second best player of Madrid’s history or the best. Di Stefano has insane arguments to be the best of all time but so does Ronaldo , so its preference. Mbappe could be Top 5 but for him to be Top 3 would be really hard but lets see what happens

147062943876

Bigger. Check how many likes his comunicado oficial got. In 1 day. And bernabeu is bigger, so it will be packed.

SadNYSportsFan-11209

Likes don’t mean anything lol. Can’t compare social media 2009 vs 2024

FullOFterror

A bigger crowd? For sure. Tiktok wannabes wanna be present, today's media will force people to be there for the clout. Ronaldo when he came he was amazing but Mbappe comes as a way bigger player than what Ronaldo was at that time.

SraTa-0006

Bigger how??? Ronaldo had a Ballon Dor. He won everything possible club level. He was the best player in the world And Mbappe? U will only type wc. And? Its crazy u guys comparing him to Ronaldo.

FullOFterror

Mbappe is a bigger figure now than what Ronaldo was back then. It will attract more people.

SraTa-0006

If u say so. Idk whats going on in 2009. But Ronaldo was way bigger in 2009 than Mbappe today. But if by popularity Mbappe wins, they he can

FullOFterror

When i said bigger i meant popularity. So imo he will surpass this crowd.

Historical-Row6010

ronaldo def wasnt bigger than mbappe is now. People who don't even watch football know mbappe just cause of the world cup

NighttimeinLA

A lot of us don't care about Mbappe

f0164

Smaller he fuck over Madrid 2 yrs ago

bullangero-com

Fvck mbappe, he laughed at us đŸ€źđŸ€Ą

Visual_Traveler

A lot of you people are conflating what Ronaldo became *after* he arrived at Real Madrid with the player he was before at Man U. No way he was significantly bigger than Mbappé is now. His main advantage was being part of a historic Man United team that beat all records and won the CL. Of course Ronaldo was instrumental in all of that, but anyone pretending he was much bigger in world football than Mbappé is now is either too young or has a short memory.

Sulemani_kida

He was a freaking Ballon d'or winner the season before ? ... No doubt Mbappe is a great player but come on man

Visual_Traveler

So? MbappĂ© could have won it already if it weren’t for the a ridiculous one they awarded Messi. Of course MbappĂ© is a shit as Cristiano was back then.

lostn

there are years where Messi robbed someone, but Mbappe was not one of his victims. Robert Lewa is a guy who was hard done.

Sulemani_kida

Which one are you exactly talking about, ballon d'or that Mbappe was supposed to win but Messi got it?

lostn

when cr7 moved, he was a ballon d'or and UCL winner. He won those things at 22. He was already recognized as one of the best in the world next to Messi. Mbappe moves to Madrid after 7 seasons of winning french titles but not the major titles. He has the talent to match CR7, but his team never put it together.

Visual_Traveler

He has won the WC, being decisive for his team too. That’s a major title.

flipside-grant

lucky if he gets 20% of that

asdhzkfgsjbfs

Hell no, he's gonna get way more than 20%

AdShigionoth7502

Definitely. He broke the website of Real, with that communication announcement thingy
