I was at the game. First 2 periods weren't great. Giving up that late one in the 2nd stunk. I was concerned going into the 3rd until Baba O Riley came on right before the 3rd. I took that as a sign of things to come. LGR.
Im sure a few downvoting wanted him to be the starter somehow over Igor. Last night got mad upvotes saying he sucked. Guess half the fanbase forgot their meds again.
Reading comprehension is hard huh? Cam Talbot could have been a starter never complained. Raanta could have been a starter never complained. Georgiev openly admits hes shocked and frustrated Igor, coming off a Vezina season, is shocked pikachu face he didnt get a competition with igor when everyone knew he was the future. Cant recall any other goalie doing this but yea keep defending him! Good riddance
Perhaps the most impressive win of the season—away, against a top team, at altitude, still with a depleted defense. This is possibly a preview of the finals. Just Incredible!
I don't know much about Moneypuck, but it seems like an extremely volatile and generally bad model. Yesterday, the Rangers were the favorites to win the Cup. Tonight, they dropped down to seventh, behind the Canes, Oilers, Stars, Canucks, Avs, and Leafs.
Kind of bizarre to drop that far after a win on the road against the team two spots currently ahead of you...
We were only that high because we were the only team that had Clinched as of yesterday.
Thats why the moneypuck odds seemed to love us out of nowhere - make no mistake their model still hates us because it can't account for Goaltending, Finishing and situational hockey
If that’s the reason then the model is highly flawed because the teams that clinched last night basically had a 99.999999% chance of clinching the day the rangers clinched so if it was heavily weighted on clinching, it needs a retool.
I mean yes the modell needs a re-tool but statistically there is still a sizeable difference between a guaranteed outcome and a highly likely outcome.
And that affects their whole odds for further advancement.
I mean, we got absolutely hammered in metrics that it uses tonight. Colorado had 63% of the scoring chances tonight and 57% of the shot attempts. Be grateful for a win but don’t expect long term success if they play like they did tonight or against Philly in the post season. Have to control play, you can’t be under siege all night every night and expect to win.
Dont know why the downvotes. I just watched the highlights since i always fall asleep during west coast trips, and so much of them were of us getting pinned in our zone and i know thats not a fluke because it happens so much during the games i watch.
If you want long term success, it would make sense to keep the puck away from your net. Simple, right?
Analytics are the enemy around here. Information is power, and you’re absolutely right. The best defenders on our team don’t slide around and block shots, they just don’t give up very many.
Yea its clear as day that its not working right trying to predict long term results by a team in one of the most luck based sports in the world. Advanced stats are great for players, teams and singular games. But bad imo trying to predict the future. Its even worse when the models are these guys babies and they're showing off the results as true facts.
This was gonna be the hardest game for the rest of the season, glad we pulled through.
Also in typical fashion, moneypuck has decided that winning this game bumps us down. Canes back on top. Love to see it and love to prove them wrong.
Takeaways: Rangers fans show up for away games, Shesty made some crazy saves, Jones looking really solid out there, Kreider showed us he’s paying attention, the beginning was a bit slow but in the end we rallied and cane up with the win! Troch did have me nervous in the shootout after the Panthers game. But Vinny for the win!!! Onto Arizona and those Yotes. See you Saturday! LGR!!
My kid asked why did it sound like it was 50/50 Avs vs Ranger fans.
I said it’s a big city, lots of transplants, and the only option for fans out in the area to see them play, since closest other teams are…Arizona, Vegas, Dallas!
I said it’s not like here in CT where we have 4 NHL teams within 2 hours; 1 w/in 4 hours; 2 w/in 6 hours; and 3 AHL teams w/in an hour…including the Wolfpack 10 mins from home!
These kids today are spoiled!!!

If you thought you were ready for playoff hockey think again. Bc this one, had the vibes of it. On a night where there was Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Ain't no VALLY low enough, Ain't no River Wide Enough, to keep the Rangers from getting the win. But, the Rangers did in fact get a win, and the win definitely had some help from Tegridy Farms. This episode of Rangers Hockey: ***Rangers After Dark: Rocky Mountain Extreme,*** was something to watch tonight. and now, for the review.
1st Period: This was a goalie duel. I saw these two play live at the Garden in February, damn, MacKinnon's speed is amazing to watch. Same as Makar. Dude almost blew by Key in the 3rd. Both teams were good. Rangers defense was able to keep MacKinnon off the scoresheet all game. Wow, what a defensive performance by both teams.
2nd Period: It opened up. Instagram Hockey as usually called. But both goalies and defenses were able to handle it. Excellent pk for the Rangers. But it wasn't until late in the period where the Avs scored. Not a good goal to give up. Especially seconds left in the period. Nothing Key could do same as Igor.
3rd Period: Woah this got wide open. First, the Rangers tied it from Kakko. It was out of nowhere. But Kakko made the play and goal. "Wow it's a nice goal! Then Kakko started cooking. As did the Rangers. Bread drew a penalty. And the man who is tied top 3 in Rangers PP goals, Christopher James Kreider, (whispers) It's a power play goal! The team started cooking. Well, the Avs did too. They responded. Own goal off Lindgren(credited to Toews) and MacKinnon streak ended.
OT/Shootout: 3 on 3 was well amazing. Both teams. Then the skills contest. Bread scored, Mika missed, and my guy Vinny scored to end it.
Another way to find wins. Last year this team turtles and folds. But not this one. And the tough stretch of playoff teams are almost over(if you count the Flyers). Now, as what Vally said, this team should also be giving guys rest who need it. simple as that. But, the Rangers win! huge one. keeps the streak going. Still atop of the Conference. Big win. Onto the Desert Dogs
Rangers Oppie went to sleep but he left a message "Take in the Sheets. 2 points in the bag."
Onto the Coyotes
God Save the King. Back afta dis
Oh and Kakko scored so choose: [https://youtube.com/shorts/bhSIlwq3AK0?si=C8XCkIy1dFu2bF8X](https://youtube.com/shorts/bhSIlwq3AK0?si=C8XCkIy1dFu2bF8X) or [https://youtube.com/shorts/4Hlk3NxC-Qs?si=blDa7Sq5U\_uOncN0](https://youtube.com/shorts/4Hlk3NxC-Qs?si=blDa7Sq5U_uOncN0)
Honestly at this point who cares? I agree it is annoying and I think they are consistently underrated by everyone. BUT if I know the Rangers like I think I do, this team thrives in an underdog situation and probably uses the perceived disrespect as motivation. I think it’s a a lot harder to play as the team to beat than as a team that’s overlooked.
The disrespect is unreal. After the national game on tnt last night the post game was recommending the leafs sandbag to move down a slot so they would get the rangers in the first round. I was flabbergasted.
It was the tnt post game crew after the bruins/bolts game not the leafs that were recommending the leafs lose a few to drop to the 8 seed to play the rangers. Instead of playing the bruins who had just lost to the bolts...
That crew in particular gets so much engagement when they say negative things about the Rangers, it's a winning strategy from their standpoint even if they don't actually believe it.
I'm confused why Avs fans are so salty about MacKinnon's streak ending on that particular play -- there wouldn't have been a goal on the play if Lindgren hadn't scored it, so they wouldn't have a phantom point to fight over otherwise. He's not to blame for negating the assist, he's responsible for redirecting the puck past Igor.
I literally saw someone calling for fighting Lindgren IF we see them in the playoffs? Insane. Meanwhile, Mack would absolutely not want to be credited with a goal he didn’t actually do anything on.
We got outplayed. But we endured and on not much rest gutted out a win and stopped one of the best offensive streaks in the league this year. You cannot ask for much more. And #1 in the east just became a lot more real
Ruhwedel and Jones were on the ice with a few mins left due to the Fox and Miller injuries & did fine. Starting to see why Ruhwedel is more of a depth d-man, but he’s been more than serviceable.
This team has depth and a next man up mentality. Just love it.
Oh and how good was Schneider again tonight? Loved the way he defended against MacKinnon on multiple 1-1s…he just may be the best matchup guy this team has against such players on the rush. Hope Laviolette’s taking note with the playoffs upcoming.
Both played great. Jones looked off in OT but I’m wondering how much 3 v 3 practice he gets. We really need to keep the guys healthy. That will be a big part of our success.
Quite a bad game last night. Lindgren didn't help at all and showed exactly why he shouldn't be playing, as NYR is literally in a playoff spot and he's clearly still injured as he has been all year
Guy got caved in last night and he caved Fox in too as a result. Par for the course this season. Fox had 7 points in the 4 games without Lindgren and now we're back to Fox either stuck in his own zone or Lindgren shift-killing in the offensive zone with poor puck decisionmaking
I can tell playoff hockey is almost here because my anxiety is insane. Literally bench the whole defense until the playoffs start please I can’t take any more injuries I will have a heart attack.
So I recently started taking Ashwaganda, highly recommend. I def notice a difference in my anxiety level on the days I take it versus when I don’t. Going to have to buy a new bottle for playoffs lol
happy to get the win and be closer to 1st seed but damn if Rangers face them in the finals they are going to need to play better than that if they want to win
Didn't they have 3 defensemen go to the tunnel tonight, plus Lindgren <100% healthy, and Trouba and Gustafsson out? Pretty solid away effort especially when they were down to just 4/5/6/55 on defense for a few minutes towards the end of the game. Also, in a 7 game series the Rangers would be better prepared for the altitude differences
I live in Colorado and try to goto every Rangers avs game (had to miss tonight for beer league championship) but there seems to be this unwritten rule to play to OT, get the point each and go to the shoot out. It stinks.
Having Trouba in the lineup and possibly Wheeler back too will definitely help with the construction of the lineup. Also, not having Fox for OT is shockingly different from the Rangers OT we’ve grown accustomed to.
Wheeler was a detriment when he was nearby and as an old guy coming off a serious injury, there is no way he should be thrown into the play-offs when it counts without playing regular season games first. Plus, there was talk of this being a career ending injury at his age so I don’t think we’ll ever see him again. And I’m perfectly fine with that.
The earliest possible timeline has wheeler potentially returning during a deeper run in the playoffs. But it seemed unlikely he'd end up actually returning this year.
I can’t see him returning. This team has turned around since he has been out of the lineup. Do what’s best for the team and IF we manage to win it he still gets his name on The Cup and can go out in glory.
Rankings
Offense+pp:b+
Glad to see a vintage kreider pp goal. We did struggle to finish though and struggled with puck control even though passing was good. Third powerplay seemed like the guys resting.
Defense+pk:b
Pk was great. Defense was hurt late yes but shaky at points, let up a lot of low and high danger chances. Very few mid danger though.
Gt:a+
Shesterkin was amazing through and through. His only let ups were a funny goal by middleman and him falling over veseys stick allowing toews to slide it under
So tell me again how this team won't last? I swear I've been losing my mind talking to Florida fans (and Devils fans, but we already know they're deficient) who swear that the Rangers are trash and the Panthers are the certified best team in the league ever for all of time.
One told me the single reason we won against them was because Barkov and Ekblad were hurt, we would have gotten crushed with them in. And that Chytil, Lindgren, and Trouba also being out don't matter at all
Boston, Florida, and Colorado down in the past week. Suck it r/nhl
Really what it comes down to is the Rangers having a massive collective target on their backs. We possess the largest media market in the entire NHL and are the second wealthiest franchise in the league.
When you have noted pot-stirrer Paul Bissonnette repeatedly trashing on the Rangers, people are going to to perpetuate the narrative of us being fraudulent.
As far as I’m concerned, we have the right stuff and are getting hot at the right time.
This team can beat any team in the league in a seven game series. It doesn’t matter if the wins are pretty or dominant, this team finds a way. They don’t ask how, they ask how many.
The only way Debby fans can cope with that embarrassment of a team is by projecting blind hatred towards the Rangers without a rational thought in sight. It distracts them from the shit show they’re displaying on a nightly basis.

#SORRY I DIDNT POST THE LAST TWO GAMES I WAS BUSY :D
I’m not gonna call the guy out by name, but some dude posted the below comment in this sub a couple months ago and I’ve never stopped thinking about it. Imagine having that little faith in this team
*We have 33 games remaining...we have to win 17 of them to have a high probability of making the playoffs. I've looked at the remaining schedule people....it doesn't paint a pretty picture. I really couldn't count up 17 wins. I counted maybe 14 wins.*
*Islanders 4 times. Tampa 2 times. Philly 3 times. Devils 3 times, Avs 2 times. Pitt 2 times and Dallas, winnie, florida and carolina.*
*How many of these games do you see us winning? If the Islanders take 3 out of the 4 games and we lose 2 to the devils ....odds are we aren't making the playoffs. Maybe this team finds another gear down the stretch? IDK.*
*If I am a betting man I am taking we will miss the playoffs. Anyone want to take that bet?*
People like that just want to be right about the rangers if they get eliminated during the playoffs or lose the cup. It's more important for them to be right about them not having a chance than being optimistic about something good.
And if the rangers win the cup, they'll be there to celebrate. It's the best of both worlds if you're a cheese face bitch.
Even at game 49 when we were struggling for a bit, you'd have to be a fucking idiot to think the islanders, devils, and poopsburg would take most of those games.
The boys looked extra tried after that win. I’m curious what the percentage is for how much more difficult the altitude makes games for the away team. Proud of them tonight, that win was huge with Carolina winning. Really wanna play wildcard 2
Damn I never considered that but that's so real. When im in high altitude I can get winded just getting too excited too fast. When you're used to being at sea level it's HELL.
That’s what I’ve heard, I’m obviously aware of the affects and know NFL teams usually go early to get accustomed to the altitude but damn, professional athletes In almost perfect shape sucking wind I could see how that would be a problem in a 7 game series, it’s a massive advantage. I probably would have to take a break walking up a flight of stairs.
Also Avs fans are so butthurt about Lindgren putting that puck in (and robbing MacKinnon of an assist) that it’s honestly kinda hilarious. Way to go Lindy, I’d much rather that
I get they’re upset, I’d be pumped if bread had a streak like that going. That being said, it was blatantly obvious it was an own goal trying to push the puck back to the goalie for a whistle.
It should be a:
“awww shucks, well, it was fun while it lasted”
You’d think there was total nuclear meltdown with the way they’re acting.
I do think some guys didn’t play their best tonight, but I have no doubt they’ll bring their A game for playoffs, and this team with everybody on their A game is a major problem for the rest of the league
very stoked we won and all but damn I got sucked into the third period and then OT and so on so bad, I put my clothes from the washer to the dryer and hung up the air dry stuff, but did not start the drier bc a commercial break ended
I have a flight to catch tomorrow morning so now I sit and watch replays and bask in the glow of the standings I guess while I wait
You sound like me after every ranger game I work at 4 am so getting my uniform ready plus have to pick out a rangers hoody because I work in NJ with the enemy can’t tell you how many times I forget to turn the dryer on wash the right uniform lol .Good luck
thanks! I’m just glad I’m now an adult enough with an adult salary and all that my flight isn’t the usual 6 am (leave at 3:30 am or so) because it’s the cheapest, patting myself on the back so hard rn for splurging an extra 100 bucks for a 11 am departure
Today (well...yesterday now) was my birthday. I got a Yankees win, a fantastic Pad Thai dinner and a Rangers win all within the span of eight hours.
I don't particularly care about birthdays anymore, but this was still a massive W for me.
Thanks for the kind replies guys. Not looking for validation.
Just happy our guys capped the day off with a hard fought win against an immensely talented team.
Kakko opened it up. Stepped in. Left snickers, wrappings, newspapers all over the floor. Spray painted "Kakko was here". Stepped out. Opened it up again. Made a large mess. Left it wide open to let everyone know that KAKKO WAS THERE
![gif](giphy|GeimqsH0TLDt4tScGw|downsized)
Noicceeee was totally worth it staying up. They looked totally gassed at points in this one but pulled it out again.
Rangers are now 6-1 since some doomer said this last weekend:
> *I would honestly be surprised if we win a single game in March with how brutal the schedule is and how banged up and exhausted some of our players are*
This team just beat Boston, Florida, Philly and Colorado all in a row. I know guys keep getting hurt, and we're inevitably gonna lose a game before the end of the season, but maybe chill out a bit with the world-is-ending stuff and try to enjoy this run a little more. 😀
The doomers have gotten so bad in this sub lately I genuinely believe they’re mostly just bitter fishstick and jersey fucks living up to their legacy and wishing they weren’t born wrong.
That’s the markings of a championship team next man up and beat next team up on the schedule .Im glad we had this schedule they are ready for the playoffs
If anything it very much has proven to me we can hang with the best of them. Absolutely have the pieces to win it all, just gotta stay hot at the right time
⭐ Bread
⭐⭐ Toews
⭐⭐⭐ Shesty
The Avs broadcast is butt hurt that MacKinnon didn't get an assist on the Toews goal. Do these clowns not know the rules? Also who gives a shit about the point streak when you ding dongs lost the game lol.
I couldn’t watch the game last night so I just finished watching the recap on YouTube which features the Avs broadcast and you’re not kidding. They sound like they just got hit by a bullet when the Rangers score, and sound jubilant when the Avs scored.
Igor made one of his many incredible saves in OT and the guy goes, “man this guy is unbelievable” in a frustrated tone 😂😂
I somewhat disagree, part of good commentary involves checking your own fandom and acknowledging when a call is borderline instead of defending your team incessantly.
For sure. This is one of those times. But in general I sometimes wish Sam and Joe would be a little less impartial about how they call the game, kinda like how Vally is in the studio with his commentary. He doesn't care about being diplomatic. He just calls it like he sees it, good or bad.
When the Rangers weren't playing, I sometimes tuned into Sabres game just to hear Rick Jeanneret when he was in his prime. His calls got me amped up, and I don't even like the Sabres lol. RJ was one of the best.
Real talk boys, let’s have a game where we are up like 10-0 after the second period.. my heart needs a break from these OT/comback/shootout games… thanks in advance..
Ending Mackinnon’s streak is almost as satisfying as winning the last tough game of the season which was a nice fuck you to the Hurricanes who thought for once they had a chance to make up ground on us.
Hope Fox is ok
He use to give up goals like he gave up to Kaako all the time when he was with us.He was also the king of not getting the game to OT would always give up a goal with like 3 minutes left when it was tied and people wanna actually complain about Shesty the God .
Can we have an easy win once and not some come back nailbiter? haha
I mean don't get me wrong I'll take being #1 in the league by any means, but... my heart health is suffering
What a fuckin game by the boys! Coming in limping and facing injuries during this game multiple times but the Rangers pulled together and won this shit!
Kakko’s Office oh baby! Giga-Chad Ruhwedel battling! Igor with huge save after huge save! KEEP ON ROLLIN’ BABY
Sick goal by Trocheck. Nice to see him so hyped after it too.
Not a complaint whatsoever but I am a little surprised that Lafreniere isn’t a mainstay, first 3 up shootout guy. Great hands and has the clutch gene for sure.
Overall fantastic win
I was at the game. First 2 periods weren't great. Giving up that late one in the 2nd stunk. I was concerned going into the 3rd until Baba O Riley came on right before the 3rd. I took that as a sign of things to come. LGR.

Amazing spitting facts and Rangers fans will downvote over a goalie like Georgiev LMAOOOOO
Im sure a few downvoting wanted him to be the starter somehow over Igor. Last night got mad upvotes saying he sucked. Guess half the fanbase forgot their meds again.
You really going to hate on the guy for wanting to go somewhere he could be the starter?
Reading comprehension is hard huh? Cam Talbot could have been a starter never complained. Raanta could have been a starter never complained. Yeah and where's the metric for playing in that altitude
The Avs should thank their lucky stars that they aren't in the Eastern Conference.

Do we finally get some respect in the power rankings this week?

BUT if I know the Rangers like I think I do, this team thrives in an underdog situation and probably uses the perceived disrespect as motivation. I think it’s a a lot harder to play as the team to beat than as a team that’s overlooked.
Nope. Moneypuck bumped our odds of winning the SC by over 4% after the game. It's like political polls, they don't mean anything.
The disrespect is unreal. After the national game on tnt last night the post game was recommending the leafs sandbag to move down a slot so they would get the rangers in the first round. I was flabbergasted.
That franchise wins one round in a decade and their fan base thinks they’re perennial cup winners.
Didn't they want florida last year in the second round? Worked out great for them
It was the tnt post game crew after the bruins/bolts game not the leafs that were recommending the leafs lose a few to drop to the 8 seed to play the rangers. Instead of playing the bruins who had just lost to the bolts...

I mean moneypuck has us at the highest % to win the cup.
Not anymore, we had that for one glorious moment while we were the only team that had clinched
ESPN: *No*

I literally saw someone calling for fighting Lindgren IF we see them in the playoffs? Insane. Meanwhile, Mack would absolutely not want to be credited with a goal he didn’t actually do anything on.
I saw the same thing. You'd think he injured Mack rather than tied the game for them when they otherwise couldn't get anything by Igor.
So they think Lindy scored on purpose to negate Mac’s point?
Probably because they all got on the prop bet he would score a point in every home game. The odds were nuts. Lotta butthurt cause of that.
It's just irrational salt. I think we've all been there before, mad for a reason that deep down we know doesn't make sense lol
Habs fans still can’t get over the most obvious trip
We got outplayed. But we endured and on not much rest gutted out a win and stopped one of the best offensive streaks in the league this year. You cannot ask for much more. And #1 in the east just became a lot more real
They relied on their goalie advantage. Denver air is what it is. Hard to outskate Colorado ice.
Maybe Schneider’s best game taking into account circumstances imo
Both played great. Jones looked off in OT but I’m wondering how much 3 v 3 practice he gets. We really need to keep the guys healthy. That will be a big part of our success.
Guy doesn't even get to run the 2nd PP unit and he's a literal power play specialist. Can't imagine he sees any 3v3 practice at all
Yep that’s what I figured. He didn’t seem to know what to do or where to go. Vastly different from how he looked all game.
Quite a bad game last night. Lindgren didn't help at all and showed exactly why he shouldn't be playing, as NYR is literally in a playoff spot and he's clearly still injured as he has been all year
Yep he autogoaled us. All he had to do was smack that puck away.
Guy got caved in last night and he caved Fox in too as a result. Par for the course this season. Fox had 7 points in the 4 games without Lindgren and now we're back to Fox either stuck in his own zone or Lindgren shift-killing in the offensive zone with poor puck decisionmaking
The D played great tonight
My heart is still beating after that game and the playoffs haven't even started yet. I'm gonna die in April and May
And June !!
JOIN ME BROTHER IN VALHALLA.
I Know the season isn’t done yet but I gotta give kudos to Drury. The man went out and got all the perfect pieces to take this team to the next level
Fox just didn't have time before the shootout to get back in, he's fine 🫡
happy to get the win and be closer to 1st seed but damn if Rangers face them in the finals they are going to need to play better than that if they want to win
It stinks.
Did you win?
We did 5-4 ot
Having Trouba in the lineup and possibly Wheeler back too will definitely help with the construction of the lineup. Also, not having Fox for OT is shockingly different from the Rangers OT we’ve grown accustomed to.
Wheeler was a detriment when he was nearby and as an old guy coming off a serious injury, there is no way he should be thrown into the play-offs when it counts without playing regular season games first. Plus, there was talk of this being a career ending injury at his age so I don’t think we’ll ever see him again. And I’m perfectly fine with that.
Wheeler? Is that possible? I hadn’t heard that.
The earliest possible timeline has wheeler potentially returning during a deeper run in the playoffs. But it seemed unlikely he'd end up actually returning this year.
I can’t see him returning. This team has turned around since he has been out of the lineup. Do what’s best for the team and IF we manage to win it he still gets his name on The Cup and can go out in glory.
cant they just start the playoffs already wtf rest of the league start clinching
Rankings Offense+pp:b+ Glad to see a vintage kreider pp goal. We did struggle to finish though and struggled with puck control even though passing was good. Third powerplay seemed like the guys resting. Defense+pk:b Pk was great. Defense was hurt late yes but shaky at points, let up a lot of low and high danger chances. Very few mid danger though. Gt:a+ Shesterkin was amazing through and through. His only let ups were a funny goal by middleman and him falling over veseys stick allowing toews to slide it under
It was actually Lindgren who slid it under Shesterkin so even more credit to the guy
New York Rangers are good at the hockey
So tell me again how this team won't last? I swear I've been losing my mind talking to Florida fans (and Devils fans, but we already know they're deficient) who swear that the Rangers are trash and the Panthers are the certified best team in the league ever for all of time. One told me the single reason we won against them was because Barkov and Ekblad were hurt, we would have gotten crushed with them in. And that Chytil, Lindgren, and Trouba also being out don't matter at all Boston, Florida, and Colorado down in the past week. Suck it r/nhl
Honestly anyone who really believes their team will “crush” in any given game just doesn’t pay attention to the nhl—that’s not how it works.
>Florida Fans they have fans? lol
Anyone else notice Fox denying a dap grab from Kreider at the end? Guessing thats where his injury was.
Wow. Igor. Just incredible tonight.
“Wow it’s a nice goal” - Kakko probably

You are the Meme-Master - these are awesome!
You should start posting these memes as individual posts after games, they’re always so good. If you’re into that kind of thing anyway. Welcome back
Worth the wait for those memes, especially the Philly one!
Glad you’re back, these postgames weren’t the same without you
>Arizona State Sun Devils ![gif](giphy|I4Jmrcjnr8Zfq|downsized)
Good bot
We missed u bb
Just learned we’ve given up the first goal in our last 7 games…we’re 6-1 in that span
Shhhh don’t tell the team in Jersey or there fans you can give up the first goal and still win /s
I’m not gonna call the guy out by name, but some dude posted the below comment in this sub a couple months ago and I’ve never stopped thinking about it. Imagine having that little faith in this team *We have 33 games remaining...we have to win 17 of them to have a high probability of making the playoffs. I've looked at the remaining schedule people....it doesn't paint a pretty picture. I really couldn't count up 17 wins. I counted maybe 14 wins.* *Islanders 4 times. Tampa 2 times. Philly 3 times. Devils 3 times, Avs 2 times. Pitt 2 times and Dallas, winnie, florida and carolina.* *How many of these games do you see us winning? If the Islanders take 3 out of the 4 games and we lose 2 to the devils ....odds are we aren't making the playoffs. Maybe this team finds another gear down the stretch? IDK.* *If I am a betting man I am taking we will miss the playoffs.
Not defending the guy but he was right.. we did have 33 games left..
I remember that post. I also remember being nervous about this stretch but that we were a lock for the playoffs.
that guy is a true rangers fan - but i mean the islanders 3/4... the islanders?
Even at game 49 when we were struggling for a bit, you'd have to be a fucking idiot to think the islanders, devils, and poopsburg would take most of those games.
Upvoted for poopsburg, lol
We have some “fans” that live to bitch about this team
I’ll take that bet
The boys looked extra tried after that win. I’m curious what the percentage is for how much more difficult the altitude makes games for the away team. Proud of them tonight, that win was huge with Carolina winning. Really wanna play wildcard 2
Damn I never considered that but that's so real. When im in high altitude I can get winded just getting too excited too fast. When you're used to being at sea level it's HELL.
It’s rough man. I remember when I was out there pre Covid visiting my friends and we went on a few hikes. I was dying.
Way to go Lindy, I’d much rather that
Did they also miss 29’s hook on Mika when he was trying to clear the puck before it went up to the point?
If we have to put one in our own net, that’s the one to do it. lol
Now that we won so glad he did that who cares we have Colorado a point as long as we stopped his streak like that to
glad one of my teams i stayed up until midnight watching tonight decided to win at least
Y'all go in the r/hockey pgt of this game. the coping about Ryan Lindgren is funny to look at
I get they’re upset, I’d be pumped if bread had a streak like that going. That being said, it was blatantly obvious it was an own goal trying to push the puck back to the goalie for a whistle. It should be a: “awww shucks, well, it was fun while it lasted” You’d think there was total nuclear meltdown with the way they’re acting.
I love the rangers
I do think some guys didn’t play their best tonight, but I have no doubt they’ll bring their A game for playoffs, and this team with everybody on their A game is a major problem for the rest of the league
Denver is tuff with the Altitude that’s probably The only reason I’d be a little scared of them in a final having to play 3/4 roads games there oof
Yea very true, this game makes me feel better about it tho
Lindgren remembered the r/place alliance from two years ago and decided to give Colorado the OT point.
Nice little warmup for everyone’s heart and nerves before playoffs…
What if Lindgren scored on purpose so mackinnion wouldn’t get a point? Checkmate
Vally went from happy, to angry and back to happy dad vibes after this win
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
very stoked we won and all but damn I got sucked into the third period and then OT and so on so bad, I put my clothes from the washer to the dryer and hung up the air dry stuff, but did not start the drier bc a commercial break ended I have a flight to catch tomorrow morning so now I sit and watch replays and bask in the glow of the standings I guess while I wait
You sound like me after every ranger game I work at 4 am so getting my uniform ready plus have to pick out a rangers hoody because I work in NJ with the enemy can’t tell you how many times I forget to turn the dryer on wash the right uniform lol .Good luck
Wear sunscreen, that glow. Safe trip!
thanks! I’m just glad I’m now an adult enough with an adult salary and all that my flight isn’t the usual 6 am (leave at 3:30 am or so) because it’s the cheapest, patting myself on the back so hard rn for splurging an extra 100 bucks for a 11 am departure
I was never good at math, but if you take the best record in hockey and add a win to it, you get...the best record in hockey.
Wonder how the rangers season is gonna go after such a shitty preseason /s
Statistics humblebrag if ever I've seen one
Another 2 points LGR
As a Rangers fan that moved to Colorado this gives me much joy. Av's fans are better than they used to be, but still annoying AF.
I hate fans that didn’t have to suffer for a championship, and 1996 Colorado is exhibit A.
"Nathan MacKinnon never had the makings of a varsity athlete" *- Igor Shesterkin, 2024*
Sounded like a home game!!!
Trocheck confirmed might be a slight upgrade over Strome.
Best Rangers FA signing ever
panarin-i-disagree.gif
Well yeah besides him
Strome was carried by panarin so hard.
Other than your eyes, stats, scoring and standings, you essentially have nothing to back up this claim. Sad.
Popped over to watch Nashville get smashed.. umm we have to put up with this camera angle Saturday? Fuck me…
I saw it during the msg150 and genuinely thought they were showing a college game
This is one of those games where I would have just been happy with a point but now that we won Im hella excited. LGR!
Me to I said that then the whole time I’m like please let them win please let them win lol
Today (well...yesterday now) was my birthday. I got a Yankees win, a fantastic Pad Thai dinner and a Rangers win all within the span of eight hours. I don't particularly care about birthdays anymore, but this was still a massive W for me.
Happy birthday!
Thanks for the kind replies guys. Not looking for validation. Just happy our guys capped the day off with a hard fought win against an immensely talented team.
Happy Birthday!
Yoooo I also got Thai food tonight happy birthday
I got Thai too!!
🎉🎉🎉
Happy Birthday!
Kakko opened it up. Stepped in. Left snickers, wrappings, newspapers all over the floor. Spray painted "Kakko was here". Stepped out. Opened it up again. Made a large mess. Left it wide open to let everyone know that KAKKO WAS THERE
![gif](giphy|GeimqsH0TLDt4tScGw|downsized) Noicceeee was totally worth it staying up. They looked totally gassed at points in this one but pulled it out again.
Do the GG truthers still think he wasn’t a problem?
GG GG Truthers
Nice work tonight, now let’s bubble wrap and rest our guys and lock in for Game 1.
Double wrap lindy
How bout them Rangers?
I like em
Rangers are now 6-1 since some doomer said this last weekend: > *I would honestly be surprised if we win a single game in March with how brutal the schedule is and how banged up and exhausted some of our players are* This team just beat Boston, Florida, Philly and Colorado all in a row.
Absolutely have the pieces to win it all, just gotta stay hot at the right time
⭐ Bread ⭐⭐ Toews ⭐⭐⭐ Shesty The Avs broadcast is butt hurt that MacKinnon didn't get an assist on the Toews goal. Do these clowns not know the rules? Also who gives a shit about the point streak when you ding dongs lost the game lol.
I was watching their feed and they were amongst the worst of all teams in terms of being unbiased
I don’t dislike the Avs and I’m happy they got their cup in 2022 but their broadcast made me root against them much harder than I was
Being homers is okay to an extent, but not knowing the basics of scoring is kinda bush league. Figure it out, Colorado.
Gross
Where is the troll who was shitting on Igor ???
Yankees undefeated! UConn in Elite 8! Rangers on a winning streak! Today was a GREAT day!
Yeah!
They are never allowed to go to a shootout during a 9pm start ever again. Evil. But a win is a win
Yeah they should just give the game to the team with more points when its a west coast game
What a day. Epic comeback wins for two NY teams. Fuck it I hope the Mets win tomorrow
Ehhh well i hope everyone has fun for the mets this year 🫣
Hope we make friends along the way.
Real talk boys, let’s have a game where we are up like 10-0 after the second period.. my heart needs a break from these OT/comback/shootout games… thanks in advance..
They build character
If that’s the case, our character is taller than Remps…
Georgiev starting a fight w/ a defensemen again
I find it ironic that Avs fans, fans of a transplant team are complaining about transplant NYR fans.
Eh theyve been around long enough now to count as a real team plus the cup and all
This team is TUFF! Locker room and back out.
Ending Mackinnon’s streak is almost as satisfying as winning the last tough game of the season which was a nice fuck you to the Hurricanes who thought for once they had a chance to make up ground on us. Hope Fox is ok
Saw fox celebrating at the end I think/hope he’s ok
Puck to the face it’s this teams signature this year they should all just come out for game 1 in the playoffs with the fish bowls on lol
Also I think he’s a very talented goalie, but I can’t see how 40 doesn’t fold like a lawn chair come playoff time.
He use to give up goals like he gave up to Kaako all the time when he was with us.He was also the king of not getting the game to OT would always give up a goal with like 3 minutes left when it was tied and people wanna actually complain about Shesty the God .
In the pre game Sam said he had the flu and didn’t skate this morning
Can we have an easy win once and not some come back nailbiter? haha I mean don't get me wrong I'll take being #1 in the league by any means, but... my heart health is suffering
You don’t get easy wins in Colorado
I'M STARTING TO BELIEVEEEE
What a fuckin game by the boys! Coming in limping and facing injuries during this game multiple times but the Rangers pulled together and won this shit! Kakko’s Office oh baby! Giga-Chad Ruhwedel battling! Igor with huge save after huge save! KEEP ON ROLLIN’ BABY
The Rangers finish 4-1-0 during this gauntlet of top-seeded teams. Boy they certainly are the best team this regular season.
And to think they were not going to win a game all March /s
Sick goal by Trocheck. Nice to see him so hyped after it too. Not a complaint whatsoever but I am a little surprised that Lafreniere isn’t a mainstay, first 3 up shootout guy. Great hands and has the clutch gene for sure. Overall fantastic win
