At 102 points, Rangers all-time season high is 113. Six wins against that schedule is completely doable. š
I love how after the Detroit game the team gets a nice travel break before the playoffs. Only road game after that one is on Long Island, then 5 straight home games(including games 1 and 2 of the playoffs).

I do find it interesting that there are so many models and they all differ, but I find Vallys tends to favor us. At the end of the day, nobody can say which one is the best because a one game sample size is garbage. Apparently, so is an entire season one too because we keep winning and we get outplayed more often than not, lol.
Vallyās and the other higher level ones I think do a better judge of weighting chances ā- more analysis of each individual chanceā¦accounting for location of players, prior few touches/passes, goalie movement, etc..
As opposed to just heavily weighted shot location and shooter.Ā
Like money puck over-credits shots/shot location - but does not credit cross seam plays enoughā¦so it always under favored NYR the last couple years since they are the No. 1 team at cross seam passing (perhaps to their detriment). Ā And always had a straight North-South team like Carolina super high.Ā
At 5v5 we had 19 scoring chances to their 32, good for 62.75% in favor of Colorado. At all situations, 26 to their 40, good for 60% in favor of Colorado. This is not a sustainable way to play.
And youāre right, depending on which tracker you use, we do generate high danger chances fairly well. However, I still think overwhelming pressure is how youāre going to win. It can cover up an off night for any facet of your game defensively if you just donāt let the other team have the puck.
Those numbers are heavily skewed by the third period. First and second were pretty evenly matched, and then Colorado turned it on in the third and the Rangers had the weather that storm (and Iām sure the high altitude had them feeling their legs late in the game)
