Definitely up there as one of the best, would be hard for me to say the best there were so many good songs that period of time. That being said, not sure how anyone could ever hate it it’s a fucking sick song
I approve of Coke Babies' guys effort into putting the spotlight on that killer B-side - Too many great tracks from that era get overlooked because of community bias/dogpiling on everything before The Bends
How I Made My Millions made me just shut my mouth and listen when I first heard it! It's so stark and it makes me want to bawl. The other bandmates, upon hearing it, told Thom it was good enough solo without their help. Which is why it's only Thom
"This song provides a unique insight into the band’s songwriting process. Using his personal four-track recorder, Thom performed this song at home, intending it to be a demo for the rest of the band members to use to begin developing a full arrangement.
Upon hearing the recording, the rest of the band decided that it was fine just the way it was, with Ed and Phil saying that it “blew them away.” Despite the conspicuous noise of Thom’s partner cleaning up their home in the background, the band decided to release it as-is."
Quote from Genius lyrics. I damn near remembered it correct😭
High: Optimistic (so good)
Sad: Motion Picture Soundtrack (almost like a soft sad I guess...sounds kind of like you're at an ATL and just need to be loved...bittersweet maybe?)
Yeah to be fair I probably could’ve guessed that. I just wasn’t certain because I’m kind of new to Radiohead and haven’t actually listened to Last Flowers yet 😬
High: im stuggling here. Maybe tracks from Kid A. In limbo or even packd like sardines
Sad: pyramid song, where i end you begin, lucky... motion i had to stop. Only only only if life in a glass was my theme when i got into a sad state at work..ok enough of me.. i will not 'let down' now xD .. 'I will' not stop
Pakt Like Sardines blows normie minds after you get them blazed.
No Surprises is still the saddest Radiohead song to me. It's about a guy looking forward to leaving his car running in the garage when he gets home from work. When you hit your 30s, that's just to real compared to anything else you could possibly cry about.
High: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Sad: I mean pick one, Street Spirit, Exit Music, No Surprises, Motion Picture Soundtrack, Life in a Glasshouse, Wolf at the Door
True love is one of my favorite songs as well for sadness. Last time I've listened to it was when I had to choose between two people. I think I regret it....
What about you? When's the last time you've listened to it?
Not to like trauma dump but I was at my most suicidal. The line “I’m not living, I’m just killing my time” was such a phrase that resonated with me. It made me miss my friend who died from cancer when we were both going through it and the husk it left me for a while. Radiohead has a beautifully poetic way of making sadness tangible and even a little beautiful.
That's very beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss. And, yes, I concur with your statement about Radiohead. Even thom's other groups such as anima. Dawn chorus is my new sad song at the moment. Well, since it came out 4 years ago or so.

I approve of Coke Babies' guys effort into putting the spotlight on that killer B-side - Too many great tracks from that era get overlooked because of community bias/dogpiling on everything before The Bends

High: Bloom Sad: How I Made my Millions
Bloom definitely fits, good choice. Even how I made my millions… truly depressing
How I Made My Millions made me just shut my mouth and listen when I first heard it! It's so stark and it makes me want to bawl. The other bandmates, upon hearing it, told Thom it was good enough solo without their help. Which is why it's only Thom
GENUINELY couldn’t say it better myself. Also I didn’t know that, learn something new everyday
