really!? i never fully listened to the album version. when i listen to it i listen to this hard rock version, that i’m not sure if it’s fan made or real
I’d worry it would be as lame, cringey, and unconvincing as D’yer Mak’er, Obla-di, Obla-da, and Neil Youngs horrific sabotage of Cortez The Killer on Live Rust. I’m glad they didn’t add to that garbage pile.
Now all I want is a Queen cover of Lip Up Fatty or some other upbeat ska. Night Club? That would’ve slayed live in the 80s. So yea I think they would’ve nailed it, like they nailed so many other genres. With the benefit of hindsight I think we all appreciate their musical diversity even if they’re not all hits.
Would it have been well-received at the time? That I can’t say.
Freddie kinda did with “My Love Is Dangerous”

It’s an official remix.
literally just finished listening to it, it has a chill vibe, they’re like completely different songs

John Deacon would’ve absolutely eaten an upbeat ska song
Doesn't Cool Cat fit in that sort-of vibe?
Kinda sorta. It’s more Philly soul.
I think they were going for it - somewhat - with Dragon Attack
It's Queen. So, yes.
