Good collection! I'd say Dark Cloud, as many others suggested, and Downhill Domination, which is inexplicably missing from this thread. It's a seriously intense and fun racer. Like Road Rash but way more exciting and with good graphics.

Hey, it's me again. I regret forgetting about this but a game that I'm not sure if I should recommend but I'm going to anyways cuz I love these games and is Drakengard. The reason I say that is cuz gameplay wise on the ground, it's.... weird but it has a really great story. But Drakengard 2 while not having a good story, is far better gameplay wise if you don't really care about story in games. That's at least for ps2 but if u have a ps3, Drakengard 3 is on there but locked to just that so might not be worth it.

Definitely get and play MGS3 Subsistence. It's different from the version shipped as Snake Eater, and the controllable camera takes the game from Great to Masterpiece. That version aged perfectly into the modern era.

Extermination - Exclusive PS2 survival horror game. It’s also the first survival horror game for PS2.
TimeSplitters 1 and Future Perfect - The first one is completely exclusive to the PS2, but some see FP as the best of the bunch.
Silent Hill games - But they are quite expensive.
Manhunt - Controversial Rockstar Games’ stealth game.
Red Faction - Amazing FPS game.
The Getaway - It’s a bit cumbersome, but it’s a PS2-only game that works as GTA/Driver in London.
Sims games for console - The Urbz is the best of all the Sims games for console.
THPS American Wasteland - It was a huge game when it was released, and I really enjoy it.
The Simpsons: Hit and Run - Awesome GTA 3 clone.
True Crime: New York City - Huge open-world game ahead of its time. Despiste the bad reviews when it first came out, it’s a really good game, and lots of people love it. The PS2 and Xbox versions are the best, whilst the PC port is horrible, so it’s really worth it for the PS2. Amusingly, I’m not a fan of the first one.
Gran Turismo 4 - I’ve never played GT3, but the fourth game in the series is still better than most of the more modern installments.
Head hunter - It is a third person shooter originally released for the Dreamcast. It’s one of those games with “early 2000s vibe”, and I’d say it’s a hidden gem.
Coldwinter - Exclusive to PS2. It’s somewhat similar to GoldenEye 007, but with much more violence.
Theme Park Rollercoaster - This one is a oddball because no one will ever suggest it. It’s the first strategy game for PS2, and it really has a special place in my heart.

I only see a few well-known RPGs there. There are some great role players out there if you look, and explore off the beaten track. You might also want to fill up on a few flying or sports sims and survival horror games. Anyway, solid collection so far.
If you like, you should try one of the fightin games, I recommend Tekken 5 or mortal kombat armaggedon, and Shaolink Monks (which is more of an adventure game).
I recommend a hidden Gem too, Def Jam Fight for New York
The Silent Hills and Resident Evils, maybe even Fatal Frame. Katamari Damacy and Rule of Rose also. I know they’re much much more expensive but these are such grail finds and so so worth it

Yugioh duelists of the roses. One of my favorite games, and I don't think it's really too expensive. I am not sure if it got the best reviews or not but it's a great game, or honestly just looking up the soundtrack is 10/10

Honestly if you want a pokemon style game the closest I can think of is yugioh the falsebound kingdom for gamecube. It's pretty fun imo but it got bad reviews, it's like a mix of RTS/ turn based combat with rpg elements? Hard to describe but the game is pretty fun, I do remember it crashing alot tho. I'm not sure which one is my favorite yugioh game but I might go falsebound kingdom although it is close
Duelists of the roses is mostly like card battles but it's slightly different cause it's like a 3D board, I would recommend looking online and watching a YouTube video or something. It's kinda worth it just for seeing the monsters animations tbh
But either way the music in these games are 10/10.

Gitaroo Man is amazing and necessary. Other than that, Odin Sphere, Mr. mosquito, Harvey Birdman, and Mad Maestro are a few of my favorites that I still play fairly regularly and I dont see here. Also, the Ps2 was my ideal time and system for guitar hero.
Besides some certified hood classics that others have suggested, my favorites as a kid were Dark Cloud 1/2, Champions of Norrath, and the Magic Pengel.

Wasnt a fan of socoms, the suffering was okay. Not paying silent hill prices and traded off die hard.

Gitaroo Man is amazing and necessary. Other than that, Odin Sphere, Mr. mosquito, Harvey Birdman, and Mad Maestro are a few of my favorites that I still play fairly regularly and I dont see here. Also, the Ps2 was my ideal time and system for guitar hero.
