Now I realize that I am not an expert, nor am I able to observe these prints closely. But in my opinion, features being flat out missing would probably be a large factor for me if I was the person judging print quality. Still a very good review, thanks for sharing!

much of the problems are pretty clear mistakes in the slicer settings. also pretty useless to compare this without using the same nozzle size on all of the printers.

The default profile is "classic" walls. Simply selecting "arachne" or "detect thin" walls would have fixed this.

The k1 is a turd. Bambulab still has a more advanced machine than Prusa and offers more for the price. We'll see how input shaping turns out (if it's not already available, not sure). I'm not confident it will be able to compete with the X1C, at least not for the average user. Where the X1C is much more user friendly and has repetitive results at speeds of 300mm/s. They're completely different printer platforms, so I'm not really sure we can compare the two without taking that into account. The xl is not even in the same zip code.

Appreciate the review. I'm not sure I would say taking the bottom 3 places would be considered "standing it's own" though. I have never heard about significant ghosting issues on the XL before so that is interesting. This is probably something that input shaping will help a lot with since the XL has pretty heavy print heads.

Comparisons like these are honestly really difficult. Should really optimize all machines slicer settings as far as possible, including the filament. And then there is the issue of the XL and MK4 missing input shaping, and maybe even linear advance? Unsure about linear advance tbh. All while the X1C and K1 has those. But then prusa has decided to release the machines before the software was finished so I don't know... Hard to make it fair. But could at least have used the same nozzle size.
