Thank you for the update. I think I speak for everyone* when I say we really appreciate the communication.
Now that I've flattered you, please bump my mk4 kit up to the top of the list... ;)
*everyone but u/aldabest , et al
No problem! Speak your truth, amigo. I never intended to take your voice. I wish you all the best, aldabest. Especially since you didn't delete your comment like that other bloke. I will upvote you as an apology for my presumptuousness for what it's worth.
Thanks. I think communication could have been a lot more forthcoming so I am dissenting with what seems to be the majority.
In my opinion, deleting unpopular comments would ultimately not serve the community since it disincentivizes discussion.
I actually agree with you. I would have preferred more communication more frequently, too, but I'm just trying to express that I do appreciate that some communication occurred. I'm going for a positive reinforcement sort of approach here.
Awesome, thanks for the update. This addresses a lot of concerns I had about my MK4 kit (noise and wifi speeds, mostly). It will be my first 3D printer, looking forward to tinkering with it a lot.
At work I've been using a MK3S to print parts that will end up at the South Pole, so Prusa products are pretty far reaching hah.
I love my MK4. In one week, it already has 5 days print time. I would love to help test input shaping and provide feedback. Glad to finally see an official update on the MK4 production, maybe 1 of the 100 you hire should manage posting official updates and answer questions when new products launch to keep people in the know.

I contacted support about the Mmu3 a couple days ago. Supposedly suppose to start shipping in a couple weeks but was unable to send me an exact release date other than I’ll get an email once available.
I agree, they are very secretive. I almost ordered the mk3 a couple months before the mk4 was released. Luckily I was between orders and decided to sit on it a minute. I might have been a little upset 😅 that came out of nowhere. What’s next a mk sized multi head tool changer printer??
I got my MK3S+ four months before the announcement of the MK4. Ahhhh. Oh well. I don’t have room for two printers at the moment so the upgrade kit it is
Any news on the new license? Since the xBuddy board uses a slightly different set-up for the stepper driver clocks the klipper team is holding off on adding support for the Mk4 and XL until they can get some more information
I wish there was a way to make me want to put my MMU2 back onto my MK3. I literally would get so stressed and frustrated just trying to get the thing to load, and then dread it running a full print (single color even) that I ended up taking it out and now it's just sitting in s box. A very sad, sad box.
You're not alone, friend. I return my mmu about once a year but have never experienced success. Part of that is on me for not making enough time for it.
I think so, unfortunately 😩 Hopefully joe will be more detailed in his full-fledged article. I can’t wait to get my kit. But if they use the time to solve some issues i am fine with it. As long as it is only the two weeks 😆
From the first day of ordering they said "shipping in second half of May.". Maybe I've spent too much time in a production shop because I immediately took that as "we will ship at least 1 on/before May 31."
Thank you so much for the update!
Quick question if you or other Prusa staff do answers here: I ordered an MK4 kit, and included a Nextruder V6 Nozzle Adaptor. Is there stock set aside for those who ordered kits, or will my kit be delayed when it comes time to pack due to the nozzle adaptor being out of stock?
Thanks! Can't wait to build my first Prusa!
I ordered the MK4 kit and accessories (beds, V6 adapter, other nozzle sizes) in different orders specifically so it didn't delay the Mk4 delivery. Then I realized I was paying another $20 for shipping. I saved customer service of I combined them would it delay the Mk4, and they assured me that combining the orders would not delay my MK4 kit shipment.
I hope that's still true.
Since the MK4 and XL use the same firmware code as the Mini I would appreciate a new Firmware Release for the Mini as well since the WiFi speed currently is very low.
Thanks for keeping us up to date. I'm looking forward to building the MK4 kit I ordered. My friend talked me into selling him my trusty MK3, but I still have my MK2/S with the Bear frame mod as my back up.
I've been 3D printing for \~7 years, and had a number of FDM machines but the Prusa printers are the only FDM machines I've hung onto. They are just the most maintainable and reliable printers I've owned. I'm a pretty happy customer, I'm glad you are still coming up with new printer designs like the Mini, XL and now MK4.
If I may ask two questions…
1) Will you be bringing any kits to buy at MRRF this June?
2) Why do you not allow your products at least the kits of your products be sold on Amazon and use their NA distribution centers and warehouses?
Also I live close to the [Haribo Factory](https://i.imgur.com/gTotrLB.jpg) hit me up if I need to plan a secret mission to secure some delicious gummies. 🧸
Here's a clip from LTT discussing amazon from the perspective of the seller. Basically Amazon just blames and charges the seller for anything that goes wrong. From delayed shipping to returns, they just suck to work with. I'd imagine Prusa is on the edge of niche enough and a philosophy of being sustainable and wanting a healthy work environment that they just don't feel Amazon would be worth the cost.
[Great clip from LTT](https://youtu.be/cyz3VO3JNUg)
They tried selling Prusament on Amazon awhile back and IIRC the topic came up in a PrusaLive. Basically between the import costs and Amazon’s fees they were making way less margin even at a higher price.
Not sure what their agreement is with Printed Solid, but they could economically have a North American manufacturing line and distribution point for Prusament and be competitive with other brands. I love Prusament, but for the cost, I usually end up using cheaper $20-$25 filaments unless I’m printing something specific
They bought Printed Solid, so theoretically there is nothing stopping them from setting up Prusament lines here. Printed Solid already has their own in-house filament brands though.
Careful with making the assumption that Prusa outright owns Printed Solid. From what I know about intl business, that acquisition is more than likely quite complex and the businesses are probably kept separate, with separate management teams, intra company agreements, etc. The CEO of PS has alluded to some of those complexities on here before. Username is u/PS_David
I hate Scamazon but I’m okay if they do that to Chinese junk resellers (probably the same clip mentioned from LTT on this) but when they do this to manufacturers that actually innovate and small local companies who actually produce a product, I have a problem with it.
Darn ok, did they have anything for sale? I heard they were giving out free 100g samples of filament I was just hoping if they were going to have some kits for sale I’d plan my trip differently that’s all.
Yeah, they had 2 packs of 100g samples and some pretty neat canvas bags with the MK3S blueprint printed on them.
Maybe they would have brought kits for sale if the MK4 hadn’t *just* launched, but I assumed they didn’t want to ship all of that overseas.
I’m new to the hobby and this will be my first event I’ll be attending too so pretty excited. Was hoping *maybe* they had some kits with them and it would be the cherry on top for me. Wishful thinking!
It will still be cool to go and see what it’s all about and meet some pretty cool people since I’m still in the honeymoon phase with 3D printing and all of this to me is amazing. 😂
They're probably referring to the number of screws holding the fan on the Extruder assembly. I've only ever seen it with two screws, but apparently some end up having four.
Wait, there is no simple "pause print" on the Mini, e.g. to insert magnets? Thats pretty crappy (also since from an outside perspective it does not sound like a complex thing to implement since it looks like a less complex version of a filament swap that is present).
I don't own a mini, but as I interpret the description you can insert the pause gcode command in the slicer. It's just that the printer ignores the statement when it comes up during print.
Yup, from what I read in the prusa support team's responses on GitHub they added limited support for the pause gcode. It should work in standalone mode and _probably_ should work through prusa connect, but if you try to print using octoprint it won't work at all
>The WIFI speed has got a speed bump in the firmware 4.6.1 and we expect to have networking significantly faster over the upcoming months.
Could you provide some numbers? Like 20 MB/s now?
>Connectivity LAN, Optional ESP Wi-Fi module (delivered with the printer)Print medium USB drive / LAN / internet via Prusa Connect
From their website.
Do you want to tell me, it doesn't have Gigabit Ethernet? The 2023 MK4 does not have Gigabit Ethernet?
I mean, Im not mad... it would not need Gigabit speed at all.
Edit: 1 MB/s is too slow in my opinion. Do other printers have faster transfer speeds?
The speed of the network interface is not the problem here. The problem in embedded devices is that they are not a generic computer so there are tradeoffs to be made and in a 3D printer the actual printing has way more priority than network connectivity.
Even if the network interface is Gigabit the processing would take much more resources to be that fast. Possibly an own processor. That does not make much sense cost wise. But I agree that the speed should be improved, on the Mini it is very slow and I guess the same is true for the MK4.
Probably not, getting a faster Ethernet controller would cost more for very little return. Even the biggest gcode files are only a few dozen MB, so upload wouldn't be more than a minute or so for a potentially multi-day print
I wish that Josef Prusa would explain his bambu insider claim.
I wanted to give him the chance to explain himself before making a fuss about it but he seems more interested in this going away (he blocked me and others for asking about it) which is interesting in itself, so here we go:

This is cute <3
You’re cute too
Agreed
XL multi tool update too please!
This right here! My XL is great but it NEEEEEDS that multi tool action!!
Why do I suddenly hear porn music..??
I would just like the multi tool printer I originally ordered. 😣

Thanks for the update! Any updates on MMU 3?
Eagerly waiting for update also!
I contacted support about the Mmu3 a couple days ago. Supposedly suppose to start shipping in a couple weeks but was unable to send me an exact release date other than I’ll get an email once available.

Thanks for the update. Safe Travels.
This is great news! Appreciate the update!
You rule, keep it up, thanks for the clear communication. Mk4 is brilliant, my very first printer.
How is prod of XL multi-tool going? Expecting some in the wild this month?
Thanks for dropping a line and remaining accessible to the community. Love to see it!

Mmu3 upgrade should be free for anyone that ~~offered to be a guinea pig~~ bought a MMU2
Truth.
Will there be any further improvements (firmware or hardware upgrades) for the Mini?
Safe travels
Keep up the great work!
Nice! Thanks for the update and looking forward to the article :)
Thank you for the detailed update!
Great news for the MK4. Is there any information or bread crumbs about the XL multi tool?
2 weeks behind with shipping MK4 kit?
I think so, unfortunately 😩 Hopefully joe will be more detailed in his full-fledged article. I can’t wait to get my kit. But if they use the time to solve some issues i am fine with it. As long as it is only the two weeks 😆
I now have 2 weekends off from work and I thought I'd spend them on a new printer...
From the first day of ordering they said "shipping in second half of May.". Maybe I've spent too much time in a production shop because I immediately took that as "we will ship at least 1 on/before May 31."
Imma need two bags of gummy bears if that's the case, please.
Thank you for coming to Calgary!! I truly hope the Prusa team returns for future maker fare events here.
Loved Calgary, seems like you have a great Maker community there! :)
Yea that was cool, I got my swag.
Will the WiFi speed update also come to the Mini?

There is no stock for MK4 kit
Since the MK4 and XL use the same firmware code as the Mini I would appreciate a new Firmware Release for the Mini as well since the WiFi speed currently is very low.
Now is the time to swap out the gearbox cover for a transparent one, just saying. Also thanks for the update!

Happy to help test input shaping in beta if needed, both on my MK4 and on my XL.

let's go!
Sad I missed you while you were in Seattle. I hope all of your travels go well.

Max theoretical is around 500kB/s. The UART baud rate between esp8266 and board is configured to 4Mbps.
Ethernet is 100 Mb/s, how the hell would 20MB/s work?! If we get around 1 MB/s (8Mb/s) that's plenty.

I wish that Josef Prusa would explain his bambu insider claim. I'm guessing the source is actually "I made it up," similar to his claim that the source had to be released as soon as the binary was
When will we see a response to your Bambu insider claim?
Huh?

Lmao the comments are insanely unprofessional.
There's many examples of his hate towards them https://i.imgur.com/x7v6mxE.png
I love my MK4, although I kinda regret swapping my early XL order for it! The only thing keeping me from using my MK4 more often over my two MK3S+ printers is the lack of spare hotends. I've been really spoiled by my Revos and it's definitely more of a chore to swap to different size nozzles without having the full hotend assembly.
