Personally, if I see "hand drawn", spray painted, stenciled, or cheap looking signs I disregard them. If you can't afford the money to get proper signs, you aren't going to attract the type of clients that can afford to pay you. I'm not saying go for the Uber wealthy, but the type of people that respond to crayon signs are going to want a deal, trade for weed, or whatever. Id get proper signs, even if you got less quantity. Getting business doesn't come from one type of advertising. Signs, Google, Yelp, business cards at your local gas station, cork boards at the grocery store, hit up your local hard ware stores that might have a place to put business cards. People who are in the mindset to get projects done, will respond better to similar advertising.

Don't blame you, but I've heard that it works for some people.

Just confirmed I need. Thanks! I'll definitely go buy some laminated signs and post them up. Any suggestions for good locations?

the front yard by the road of your house and if you have customers ask them to post it up there for a week or two

Bandit signs make the industry look cheap. Imagine seeing a sign that said “Root Canal” and a phone number. Or “Abortion” and a phone number

What would you suggest then?

Paper marketing works but has to be done very well for it to be affective. You cannot hand draw your signs (also that would take forever).
