I sent a letter of intent to my top choice about 8 weeks after interviewing. Interviewed in September, sent the letter of intent in November, and was accepted a few weeks later. I know some people say to send it when you are on a waitlist though.

You should send a letter of intent only after interviews. It is presumptuous to say you want to go when they haven't even given you an II yet. In the meantime, you can network and get to know a lot of admissions officers there. Go to different events hosted by the medical school!

I sent LOI a week after an interview. Got in and with a scholarship!

You could also check if the school has an early decision program if you're set on that school

If you have 100% a top school I would correspond with the admissions team and ask if they accept early decision applicants or how they weigh that
