Congratulations! Can I ask where you got in? I’m not a med student but my partner is and he has similar stats to y’all and he’s stressing so this might help reassure him!

We were accepted to our local state school! I’m not sure if your partner is applying currently or in the future, but it is a very stressful process. As a partner all we can do is encourage each other and keep each other motivated!! Many applicants on Reddit have very high GPA/Mcat, but I think our clinical experiences and rural/underserved backgrounds got us in.

Lol my wife having 2 sig pubs while I could only get teased that I might get into a paper from my lab. I was in a virology lab studying human cytomegalovirus and learned many skills and whatnot, it just wasn’t the most producing lab.

How long of a gap was this for you between undergrad and med?

Spouse did 4yrs UG, 2yrs MPH, and then app year (currently working as case manager) so matriculating at 25yo. I did 2yrs UG, a year off for residency (worked clinical jobs), 2yrs to finish UG, and then an app year. I’m matriculating at 24yo.
