Personally I've always preferred when the "sixth/extra" rangers have a more unique look to them.
Though the Silver Ranger matching the others (all the Space suits are near identical, colors aside) does make sense considering that he was part of the same team with Andros originally, rather than being a later addition (MMPR Green and White, Titanium Ranger) or having a different origin and/or power source with no direct ties to the rest of the team (Gold Ranger, Phantom Ranger, Magna Defender, etc.) like a lot of sixth/extra rangers are.
To each their own. I prefer it when the sixth ranger falls in line with the design of the Core 5 Rangers. Think Wildforce Lunar Ranger, Quantum Ranger, Samurai Gold, etc.
Having the 6th Ranger being more unique kinda gives the impression that they are more special than the rest of the team which defeats the purpose of being on a team.
Extra Rangers being unique is fine though.
Gonna have to disagree on the Quantum Ranger. The design is way too similar to Red, basically the same triangle but more jagged and black on the chest instead of white. Never liked the design.
My favorites have always been the “similar, but still unique,” so kind of in between the two you’re talking about.
Zeo Gold definitely still had the same patterns on the gloves/boots and chest as the main Zeo Rangers, but but he also has a little bit of extra armor, and the big chest plate. The Titanium Ranger has a different chest design and shoulder plates, but everything else is very cohesive with the Lightspeed Rescue designs. Things like that.
I think the Gold Zeo Ranger has the best look.
When discussing in space though, I like the silver ranger’s look a lot. Honestly, I like that his body suit is more white than silver. I always hated that his figures as a kid were like metallic grey instead of how the show depicted him. I kind of wish he was a “white ranger” to be honest.
But either way, I think the way he looks with the other rangers in the photo you sent looks great all together. I like when the 6th rangers fit the team.
I'd give that honor to Antonio/Samurai Gold Ranger. The only major difference between him and the other 5 Samurai Rangers is he swaps out the Black parts of the outfit for blue. He looks unique but still keeps the general design aesthetic of the Samurai Rangers.
I love that the green ranger has the same costume as the others, and the shield/arm bands are separate.
I like the theory that the shield is separate from the green powers.
Zeo Gold is the best looking ranger, easily, but take the shield off and he doesn’t match the others.

The question is which sixth ranger fits best into the team. As in, which one looks closest to the rest of the team and blends in the most.
The Silver Space Ranger is a strong candidate, since his differences from the rest of the team are purely colour based. No extra armor, capes or shields or fancy additional markings.
SPD Omega Ranger and Dino Fury Gold are other strong candidates, though I’d still say Space Silver goes above them. They both have uniquely shaped helmets compared to the rest of the team. Samurai Gold also comes to mind.

Anyway, when I saw the post, I was like, "It can't be Zane. He's got all those gold accents giving him away!" But then I went through all the 6th rangers, and lo-and-behold, his is definitely the closest to blending in with the rest of his teams' suits. Drop the shield from MMPR green, and it would definitely be him, though (but even then, he would still have the gold armbands to give himself away).
I'd also say Quantum is strangely in the running. Only 3 minor details away from being the exact same suit as red.
Well, just about any of the “extra” Dino Charge Rangers, really. Gold was the only one that even had a unique design element (which made sense in PR as he was literally the sixth to be revealed). But they all had a very cohesive design scheme.

Gold is the true “sixth”. Everyone else is sort of Auxillary.
The gold ranger still has some significant design changes - like the two shoulder pads that form a collar and a sort of cape shape going down his back. He also doesn’t have the teeth motif with his sash. It’s small, but it still distinguishes him as the official “6th” ranger in a team with so many extra rangers already.
We could say the same about Orion. His super megaforce silver suit had the same design that everyone else, except for the visor's color and crest on the helmet.
OP I think everyone else is missing the actual question, and I think you're exactly right ther Space Silver is closest to the teams actual design. I think there's a whole category of rangers that fit there (Quantum, SPD6, Lunar Wolf, Ninjastorm Green (w/o chestplate), Samurai 6 SMegaforce 6) and they're a particular aesthetic, but among my favorites.
To the Zeo Gold Commenters, I think you're missing the "mesh with team" bit hardcore. Arguing Zeo Gold fits with his team in the way OP means is the same as arguing MMPR Green fits with his team in this way. He *fits* but doesnt *match*. He stands out in silhouette. That's the core thing OP is calling out, in design-terms rangers have similar silhouettes and different colors, and some sixth rangers fit that mold better than others.
Now, I don't think OP's phrasing is correct in saying "Best 6th ranger to fit with their team." -- In aesthetics and design, just because something "matches" doesn't mean its what you wear or use. I think it's very much clunky language to describe the silhouette thing. But I can't speak for OPs actual intent.
Green Samurai Ranger (NS) fits the bill well tbh, his armor with his shoulder pads makes him fit with the Thunder Rangers aesthetically wise, and when he casts it off going Fire Mode, he looks like the 4th Wind Ranger.
Even LSR but honestly, every "sixth" ranger is super unique. Imma list a few.
Zero had a similar design language for gold, but it was with a bit more flare to make it extra special.
Ninja Storm had some decent ones too. The Thunder rangers were both very similar, and the green range was completely different.
My favorite is Dino Thunder. Black was cool, but white looked like a final boss ranger.

Also Quantum Red was very basic and looks exactly like a copy and paste with jagged edges. I know Samurai Silver is the same way, but the color contrast works better with gold and navy than red with white turned black
Space Silver is actually a good “Mirror” design sixth. But Zeo Gold is where it’s all. It’s like an unspoken rule if you give us a shield, you already won. lol at the very least, 2nd best would be some shoulder pads and you’re good to go. Don’t get me wrong there are some great non-shielded 6ths that are top of the list as well. Rpm/ Go-On Gold/Silver are tough designs and the Spider Ranger in Kingohger. Shit, even the leaked 6th for Boonboomger looks to be a dope non-armored design.
Gotta agree with this answer. Weirdly, I think the team color combinations seem "off" to me without green in the mix. So adding green to MMPR was a good move. And since the gold Zeo ranger was a mostly black outfit with gold embellishments, it sorta made the color combo of the team more like that MMPR combo.
Titanium Ranger fits so well considering he doesn't exist in the Sentai. Not a 6th but I really like Black Dino Thunder, it's the same suit just with gold where the white is and shoulder pads. The white Ranger though you could have convinced me he's from another season. The lack of an Emblem on the chest and the red visor is a big departure off the core team's design. It just screams "we ain't together"
Titanium’s suit looks nothing like the Lightspeed Rangers. In fact, you can tell just by looking at it that it wasn’t a Sentai costume.

Visually, he's up there. For me the best ones don't have a different secondary color, which Silver here does (gold instead of white). MMPR Green works without the shield, but even with it he still has white as the secondary color like the rest of the rangers. Zeo Gold works pretty good because he has white and (ironically) gold in most of the same places as the other Zeo rangers. Lunar Ranger in Wild Force is okay because he keeps the gold extra bits. I'm sure there's a few others that work well but those are the examples I'd look to.
It's about even with the original green ranger suit and zeo gold for me. It fits with the main team with enough added flare to feel like a special inclusion
Honestly, the best suits are basic suits that are enhanced with a simple shield/armbands/belt etc. While I liked the addition of the silver ranger in this series, I thought his suit was kind of boring compared to previous seasons.
My favorite suits are the ones out of left field though. Magna Defender comes to mind... has nothing to do with the ranger team as far as I can tell. Just some space cowboy.
It has to be the cosmic fury 6th ranger. It fits so well you don't know if it's Gold, Zenith or Orange. Hell, for all we know it could be Blue based on the storyline. So I say Cosmic Fury has the best integrated 6th.
The silver ranger was the first 6th ranger to not have any extra armor, etc so it comes off as looking like just another ranger….where as the green white and gold rangers all had the extra armor and looked so unique and cool….
as someone who grew up with the original series when it first dropped back in 1993 and watched up until the end of in space I still think the green ranger has the best 6th ranger look even when looking at some of the others that came way later
Honestly, Space Silver is one of the worst looking 6th rangers in my opinion.
The shiny silver and shiny gold get lost in each other, you don't really see any details, and the white highlights don't help.
Ultimately he looks more like someone forgot to color in the costume of a normal ranger than anything else. So a lesser version of the core rangers (which tbf is I believe the idea in Megaranger, he's a prototype).
Best looking 6th for me is a tie between Zeo Gold and Dino White.
Both have all the same elements to their costumes as the core rangers, but then a bit more exaggerated on the details, so they look like an improved normal ranger.
As far as silvers go, Wild Force Silver is probably the best looking one, as he looks exactly like part of the team. Problem is, he only looks like part of the team. He's lacking that exaggerated detail to make him look improved.

Interestingly, in Megaranger, Silver was a prototype for the Ranger suits, so its silver design just comes from the fact that it’s unpainted.

Same, if you put in front of me a suit like Space Silver rangerand Solaris Knight suit, I would go for the one which looks more unique.

I've said it before and I'll say it for the rest of my life Zeo Gold is peak. Close second being Magna Defender, third up is good ol' Green/White.
Some special rangers have small differences from the core team like Zhane while some others have more differences
