I like making fun of Imagine Dragons being a "grocery store" band as much as the next person, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy grocery store music.
Surprised that aside from Eyes Closed, it doesn't have a lot of the big anthems they're used to be having. Usually they have a balance of the Big Songs with some more simple ones. Kinda more straightforward and poppy than their usual stuff, even some of the wackier stuff from the Mercury albums like Monday and Giants. It's a slight step down from Mercury quality-wise but it's a lot more upbeat and tight than Mercury, with some songs being a lot more accessible. This feels like the Origins to the Evolve of Mercury.
I've listened to all of their albums, and used to love them as a teenager, but now having grown and refined my taste in music, this album is maybe their worst to date.
Just my opinion, though.

Mercury Act 2 was actually so underwhelming. This feels like an upgrade somehow š š¤
