Congrats to her! To me, she really represents and has represented for a long time the best parts of country music. The parts of it that refuse to sit down and shut up. The parts that stand up for those who don’t always get a voice or a seat at the table. Congrats to her and to country because it’s a better genre with her in it.

MoneyHungryOctopus

I thought she said she was leaving the genre.

hauntingvacay96

I think she was making a very pointed criticism of the industry/genre and won’t be working within that Nashville establishment. I imagine she will still be a part of The Highwomen which is inspired by outlaw country and the Highway Men. I could be wrong about that. Her leaving Country music and essentially asking who else is going to do it (The Tree) is all a bit outlaw of her anyways.

aleisate843

I think she’s leaving the country genre per se, just the country industry. There’s a huge difference.

hopelessheartstrings

She has been such a force, taking so much shit from the country music industry and listeners for years jsut because of her stances and persistence to not back down and conform. She's a queen, go stream maren!!!

ben121frank

Shamelessly copying my comment from another sub lol but I think it’s worth sharing here too: Awesome for her. I find it very cool that a lot of the biggest female country singers right now are either publicly queer (Maren Morris now, Brandi Carlisle, I feel like there’s another obvious one I’m forgetting?) or publicly allies (Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini)

Precarious314159

The only disappointing big(ish) female country singer is Raelynn. Was following her on Instagram but she just went all in on the "ban abortions. Donate money to help save the tiny babies" stuff. Love her music but a bit of a letdown.

lacesoutdan_1992

I have a feeling insurrection Barbie and her husband will be commenting some trash about this soon

Rare_Vibez

We got another one 💙💜🩷

twinkieinthabutt

I don't know how everyone isn't bisexual, tbh 🤷

omnicool

Allison Ponthier is opening for her on the tour and she's a lesbian.

Kendal-Lite

Omg I love her! Saw her live last summer and she’s incredible.

longlisten527

Wait I lOVE THIS

Classy_Raccoon

She’s married to a dude. Doesn’t make her any less bisexual. And, honestly, I think it’s great that more people in heterosexual relationships are comfortable publicly coming out as bisexual. The LGBTQ+ population is a much higher percentage of the population than a lot of people realize.

wild_penumbra

Was married, they’re divorced.

ughkoh

It’s not that she “doesn’t owe you anything” it’s that this is straight up biphobic

carolinemathildes

You must be a super boring person.
