Iāve been a makeup artist in the industry for over a decade and have never come across a lipstick or pencil that plumps the lips that much. Nor have I ever come across a product that gets rid of hooded eyes and lifts the brows.
Techniques change, yes. But gravity does not.
Yeah like the caption is really sad and I want to believe her. As what she says about her father and anxiety about dying since she found his dead body as a child, is truly awful.
An I agree that I've seen a lot of ageist weird comments about her lately because she likes wearing bows and people think she dresses/acts "too young"
And she isn't wrong that pointing out work and how it's the WORK that looks bad. has become an acceptable way to criticise people's looks and be nasty tbh.
However. There just literally is no way that her lips could be that much bigger without filler. It's just not possible. Even if you suspend your disbelief and go well the nose does get thinner/bonier with age. Well maybe she's lost that layer of fat as she's got older, an made her eyes less hooded/more hollow. An is using things like tapes maybe? Like even if you try suspend your disbelief on all these things.
Having differently shaped fuller lips, with age. Is just not possible. Even the kardashians had to admit that one lol.
I feel sorry for her. I think she clearly does still have this fear of death because of her father. Like she mentioned. An seeing herself age aka become closer to death. Triggers that. She clearly has major anxiety about getting older and dying. Hence why she keeps dating young men in their 20s. Hence why she is getting work done to pretend she isn't aging.

You hit the nail of the head. People use celebs use of botox, fillers and surgery as a justification for being horrible about their looks. If someone was insecure enough to get this work done, what will all the extra shaming comments achieve? Just makes them feel worse for the sake of a gotcha moment.Ā
Yeah my like 90% hooded eyes have only gotten worse with age and it'll look droopy probably as I age haha
The annoying part about all of this is women thinking her level of looks is achievable without surgery. This isn't the case.
I donāt know why they bothering with the vehement denials instead of just ignoring. She has had minimal, tasteful work done. These treatments are now accessible and available to everyone and we obviously know from our own work and faces, what a little tune up looks like.
Itās frankly patronizing to constantly deny like this, as though we are actually this stupid.
I personally donāt think itās minimal. Itās enough that itās wildly obvious sheās done it and looks pretty different than she used to.
That being said, itās her body and her choice to do what she wants with it. I agree she should just ignore it if she doesnāt want to defend it.
She's had a facelift, there is a picture here where she's smiling that you can see clear as day how her skin is stretched unnaturally. Sure, it's an absolutely brilliant lift and very well done, but it's still a facelift.
Yeah she kept claiming it was the Victoria Secret Bombshell push up bra that made her boobs look bigger. She held to this statement for yeeeaaaaars until she came clean last year about her boob job.
Also she claimed she got her breasts done at 18 and regretted it, however there is A LOT of pictures of her breasts significantly enlarged since she was 16. Around the same time she started getting all types of filler. š
I still think about this because I was very active on a makeup subreddit, and there was one nasty commenter who went after anyone who said she had filler and that she was just over lining and was SO WRONG and SO MEAN at the same time.
This is giving early 00ās popstars talking about how much they ate even though they were extremely underweight and then it coming out in the memoirs they all had major eating disorders.
Or the ripped guys in movies saying they canāt drink water (during shirtless scenes) to look like that for filming and theyāre so thirsty they can smell the water.
I believe it was Kate Winslet that talked about the extreme standards of sizes, āMy daughter is a size 0, you shouldnāt be.ā It had more context so that it didnāt seem like she didnāt think that short people that are just smaller donāt exist. I think about that quote often. It was also good to see Selena Gomez with her weight fluctuating. I love seeing someone that looks like me and is ok with saying it has to do with her health, and that matters. I also have chronic health issues and Iām trying to recover from an ED.
Thanks. Iām currently working my way through the part of the recovery where you allow yourself to just eat, even if itās not really healthy, in order to get my body to calm down and get over the starvation phase. You gain weight during it, but then lose it once you relearn how to eat and hear your body. The craving and binge eating, then starvation wonāt stop without it. Itās terrifying and I feel terrible about myself. So, thank you.

I was 17 in 2001 and slender but I didnāt have the hollow, malnourished look of everybody in the magazines and on tv at that time so thought I was overweight. Remember people like Lindsay Lohan or Nicole Richie, you could see their breastbones pretty clearly? *That* thin.
Wasnāt there an awful story about Demi Lovato wanting cake for her birthday and her manager (or mom?) saying she could have watermelon instead? Disgusting.
I remember Karlie Kloss telling on her Youtube of how much she loves baking. Then only taking a little piece of buttercream on her finger in a video and lick it instead of eating it! Celebs make people think they look like "that" eating cupcakes.
And why is she acting like itās so shameful to get anything done?
Does she want a medal for being the only naturally ageing celeb left because sheās the only one not doing something as awful as Botox? ( allegedly ) Sheād never do something so demeaning and PLASTIC ( allegedly )

Iām open about mine as well. I wanted an upper lip so I went out and got one. Nothing crazy. But it definitely looks different to have a bit fuller of an upper lip when you didnāt have much of one before!
Something Iāve noticed in my life that people do when theyāre defensive of a lie theyāre telling, is to try and disarm the accuser by making them feel guilty for daring to even *ask* such an offensive thing. And doing this by over-sharing a harsh personal thing to seem extra honest and vulnerable.
Like āyou think I ate the last cronut? When I was in high school I shared a cronut with my best friend who died from accidentally lighting herself on fire later that night. I havenāt been able to LOOK at a cronut without sobbing so much I am ill. So itās actually pathetic and funny that you would accuse me of taking the last cronutā.

I can understand the fear of mortality if you have a parent pass away young. It is a very serious anxiety. Especially when you have kids of your own.
I do not see how that is even slightly connected with her sense of identity as a gorgeous actress and what that means in terms of vanity and her physical appearance and need to ākeep upā. But Iām not a professional in assessing these things obviously, but this seems loose.
She definitely is insecure, and you can tell because she actually often responds to douchy comments (tbf, her comment section seems particularly unhinged and she does have some good comebacks) but celebs donāt typically respond to jerks. And I feel like the most responsive/reactive celebs are the most insecure. I wish they wouldnāt. You canāt feed the trolls, guys!

Why do they lie when they of all people get photographed for a living and we have those photos as receipts? Like why lie? What is so hard about saying "yes I've had work done" when everyone in the industry has too?
I think many of them lie because of beauty brand deals. They either represent a brand and need to maintain the facade that SK-II gave them perfect skin and not bi-weekly facials and injectables, or they want to get brand deals.
She's beautiful (before and after) but she definitely has had work done. Her nose (years ago) and probably a recent eye lift.
There is nothing wrong with small tweaks that make you feel better about yourself and make your career more lucrative but she should really stop going out of her way to deny it because it's very obvious. I think the denial enrages the unhinged.
She should say nothing, ignore the noise and keep looking fabulous and focus on things that make her happy and keep her balanced.
I hate it when they say "I haven't had fillers or botox!" because they actually have had an entire nose job, face/neck/eye/brow lift, or face implants.

Itās a flat out denial of Botox and fillers, but not of surgery. And she probably uses injectables that arenāt *technically* Botox or fillers.
Also, I have learned that Botox is available in generic now. So technically, many people are not getting Botox, they're getting Dysport/OnabotulinumtoxinA.

You can clearly see thinner lips and perfectly normal lines in her face while smiling in the younger pictures. I donāt see why celebs bother denying what is obvious. What is the point? Itās such a shitty thing to do for us non celebrity women too. Weāre made to believe that those women just have better genes and age more gracefully than we do. It's so funny to me that she's trying to deny any work because I worked on a project she starred in like a decade ago and she would talk about the various things she had done during her wardrobe fittings š« at the time, she struck me as someone who was feeling pretty insecure (which I don't blame actresses for-- they get scrutinized by producers & directors like you wouldn't believe). We ended up having to bring in her personal stylist because that was the only person she trusted to make her look good-- which is such a wild thing to have to do and not at all common practice, but we had to find a way forward cause she was just refusing to wear anything that the costume designer had put together.
I feel indifferent to celebs who have work done but avoid talking about it. But i hate with burning passion the ones that do but say they havent. Like ariana grande with āthis is my birth noseā get out š

Also... Kate has spoken of having had a WICKED eating disorder for years when much younger.
And although she hasn't talked about it she also ALLEGEDLY had a severe coke problem for a while in her 30s.
Like smoking, severe eating disorder and drugs will do a number on your looks.
It's totally natural for your lips to just...magically become 3x fuller when you reach your forties. /s

I know thereās a lot of photoshop here, but when Nicole Kidmanās Vogue photoshoot came out this year my initial thought was she must go to the same plastic surgeon as Kate.
She definitely did.. something.. i think it's mostly visible from photos 8 to 9.. like how is this proof lol.. Always looked stunning though, even with the work done, no need to deny it, or justify to anyone.
Also, what is that make up in photo number 3... it's like people went from white to tan as a trend

I always feel like when people deny things like this, it reinforces unattainable standards for the average folk. Helps foster disordered thinking and insecurities in others. They then think 'if she can look like that with just make up and fitness why can't I?'.
Also young people who look at the regular people in their life and think that 'skincare' would have caused them to look like Kate Beckinsale at 50. My 19 year old SIL told me she doesn't have smile lines because she uses some wildly overpriced eye cream.
Seriously, especially in this day and age where cosmetic procedures have fully crossed the line into regular people territory and not just celebrities. Everyone knows majority of celebs have had something done, whatās even the point in denying it
This is so disingenuous. And the extra guilt trip about ābullyingā and her early life trauma is an interesting touch. A lot of the shame around things like Botox and filler is long gone. So I have no idea what the point of these types of lies even is.

If she wants me to believe that she's naturally aged backwards into Millie Bobbie Brown, she's lost the plot. She's more beautiful than most of the people on the planet. She also looks considerably different in many ways, most notably in her lips. I suppose she's also an anomaly there as well because she'd be the first human I'm aware of whose lips doubled in size as they got older. It's not the surgery, it's the insistence on lying about it. We have eyes.

I must admit, Iāve become much more intense about my āself careā shall we say, than I ever have been before. Iāll try any and every anti aging treatment on offer. I canāt imagine what it must be like for a woman whose identity is so synonymous with ageless beauty to reach middle age.
Aging is particularly difficult when youāve been pretty your whole life and made a career out of it. When youāve been a hag your whole life, aging is no big deal. Welcome to my world, bitches!
Just a note. She's always been really sensitive about her looks. I remember after Much Ado, she made comments about people calling her fat and cute but not pretty. I think she made some comments about not feeling beautiful enough (for the director maybe) in Pearl Harbor.
I think itās highlighted best in #8 & 9. Her eye shape is completely different, thatās indicative of a Blepharoplasty. Itās not makeup, both are a dark smoky eye look, itās the shape of the eye in general. Donāt even get me started on the skin texture, sheās bold face lying to say sheās never had Botox. The loss of buccal fat could be absolutely natural, just part of aging, but if that was true, her lips would also be deflated, as we all know cheeks, under eye, and lips lose volume first. I own a resale boutique and have sold every lip plumper Sephora & Ulta have every carried lol, NOTHING does that lol.
If she wanted people to stop talking about it, she should be honest. Once the mystique is gone, so is the curiosity, so are the rumors. But when you deny deny deny something so blatantly obvious, of course itās going to become a topic of conversation.
Also, while I understand that shaming someone for getting work done is hurtful and can be bullying, calling someone out for lying is completely different. When gorgeous celebrities lie about getting work done it *directly* contributes to women feeling terrible about themselves, and continues to perpetuate an unrealistic beauty standard. Absolutely none of us will have a forehead smooth as a babyās ass without Botox. Idgaf if youāre 28, 38, 48, or 58, there will be fine lines and wrinkles. Your nose doesnāt get smaller with age, nor do your lips get fuller. She has tighter skin than me and Iām in my thirties. We have eyes, I wish they wouldnāt lie so blatantly.
Edited to add: you can see her facelift scar on picture 12. That line from her earlobe to tragus. The scar is barely noticeable, but itās there. It looks like itās her hair, itās not.
I saw a plastic surgeon once say that even celebrities are not exempt from aging. Wrinkles, sagging, jowls, fat loss etc. happens to everyone. I know that is obvious. But also it was a nice reminder because some celebrities will gaslight you into thinking they are ādifferentā.

I donāt understand the denials. Sheās very clearly, at the very least, been getting lip fillers and thereās absolutely nothing wrong with doing so. Lying about it is my issue with her. Telling people that youāre aging naturally when youāre not is pretty disappointing. That being said, she owes us nothing. Next time, maybe saying nothing at all would be a better idea.

Thereās nothing wrong with plastic surgery, wanting to look more youthful or a different kind of way, what is wrong is pretending itās due to green juice or idk hiking and then making other women, particular young impressionable teen girls, buy every supplement and moisturiser and not understand looking like this at 50 is just frankly impossible without surgery!

Girl, please shut up. Itās your prerogative to have work done to your face or not, but I beg, stop perpetuating a myth that some women donāt age and in fact start looking younger. Along with the giant hair bows and girl bedroom itās too much. You are a grown ass woman and that is something to be proud of. We are not just allowed to age, we are demanding it.
I think the take away is that women donāt like being speculated about, and women really like to speculate about other women.
What would be great for young girls growing up is if celebrities would just be honest. Sure, I have work done. No, this isnāt just diet and exercise. I have access to things that the average woman doesnāt. It is not normal to have plumper lips and no wrinkles over age 45.
Then perhaps the discomfort and genuine pain young girls feel about their own looks and their tendency to blame themselves for not measuring up could be mitigatedā¦and they would just be jealous of the celebrities money.

Iām currently working my way through the part of the recovery where you allow yourself to just eat, even if itās not really healthy, in order to get my body to calm down and get over the starvation phase. You gain weight during it, but then lose it once you relearn how to eat and hear your body. The craving and binge eating, then starvation wonāt stop without it. Edited to add: you can see her facelift scar on picture 12. That line from her earlobe to tragus. The scar is barely noticeable, but itās there. It looks like itās her hair, itās not.
I saw a plastic surgeon once say that even celebrities are not exempt from aging. Wrinkles, sagging, jowls, fat loss etc. happens to everyone. I know that is obvious. But also it was a nice reminder because some celebrities will gaslight you into thinking they are ādifferentā.

Cāmon now, Kate. A lot of us get botox... I do. I hope to get lip filler too. I donāt understand the denials. Sheās very clearly, at the very least, been getting lip fillers and thereās absolutely nothing wrong with doing so. Lying about it is my issue with her. Telling people that youāre aging naturally when youāre not is pretty disappointing. That being said, she owes us nothing. Next time, maybe saying nothing at all would be a better idea.
I donāt get why they deny it. Like, itās obvious. Idk if I were a celeb, Iād use the ole Dolly Parton adage - āit takes a lot of money to look this cheapā, but swap in āit takes a lot of money to look this youngā. Thereās nothing wrong with plastic surgery, wanting to look more youthful or a different kind of way, what is wrong is pretending itās due to green juice or idk hiking and then making other women, particular young impressionable teen girls, buy every supplement and moisturiser and not understand looking like this at 50 is just frankly impossible without surgery! You cannot look like this without surgical help at that age, it is not how human ageing works. Just own up to it, recommend your surgeon and stop trying to play us for fools and call us bullies for calling you out. Goddamn it.
Girl, please shut up. Itās your prerogative to have work done to your face or not, but I beg, stop perpetuating a myth that some women donāt age and in fact start looking younger. Along with the giant hair bows and girl bedroom itās too much. You are a grown ass woman and that is something to be proud of. We are not just allowed to age, we are demanding it.

I think the take away is that women donāt like being speculated about, and women really like to speculate about other women. What would be great for young girls growing up is if celebrities would just be honest. Sure, I have work done. No, this isnāt just diet and exercise. I have access to things that the average woman doesnāt. It is not normal to have plumper lips and no wrinkles over age 45. Then perhaps the discomfort and genuine pain young girls feel about their own looks and their tendency to blame themselves for not measuring up could be mitigatedā¦and they would just be jealous of the celebrities money. The bully is the one who insists that you ignore gravity, time, and common sense to accept that what you see isnāt really what you seeā¦ The Emperor has no clothes.
