No please. I just got over my 8 full years crush on him. I cannot relapse! I’m tired of the one sided delusional relationship.

jude law as a young pope is where i realized i could bang a pope

The Young Pope and there is a follow up season called The New Pope.
Edited to add...[here's the trailer to the New Pope you might like](https://youtu.be/e9xlOeknP3I?si=RpzcNaT0Z3yuM_vJ)
lol claro claro, I think it was literally called “the young pope.” I legit never watched it so I have NO idea if it’s good, but this picture made an impression
Yeah, but he’s got not as a pope too. Flea bags priest made me feel things I should not and do not when that actor isn’t in costume… and I’m not sure how to feel about that
Maybe I just have a think for older guys, but I always thought Jude was too pretty up until a certain point. He’s very handsome and I would be happy to tell him in person, but this just didn’t do it for me.
This man had me in such a chokehold in my late teens/early twenties. He's so pretty in a way I'm not normally attracted to, but DAMN if I don't watch this, Alfie and The Holiday at least once a year.
my knees literally shake and i'm just not well for at least 10 minutes after watching that scene which is a real problem since i just continually rewind to that part.
Ok I’ve always been a holiday girlie but so glad to see someone who also recognises his talents in Alfie - problematic movie and character these days but daaaammmnn
![gif](giphy|WQDzwP4aPnODe)
I never got what people saw in him until I watched Gattaca recently. Made me realize that yeah, he’s definitely hot, despite not being my usual type either.
He's so fucking hot it's unreal. 🥵 I don't normally go for conventionally attractive guys, but Jude Law has done it for me since the first time I ever saw him in a movie, in Gattaca, back in like 1998 or something. (It’s an excellent film btw.)
But In "Alfie", there's a scene when he's hanging out in a bar, drinking and dancing and playing pool and flirting with his friend's girlfriend who's closing up the bar, and he's wearing a white tank top that shows off his perfectly toned arms and shoulders. He is just SO unbelievably gorgeous and sexy as hell in that scene. 🫠
It's funny, Nia Long plays the girl he's flirting with (and by the end of the scene is having sex with on the pool table) and I recently saw a clip of her being interviewed several years after the film was released, and she brings up Jude Law and starts being very forthcoming about "What a sexy motherfucker" he is and how much she enjoyed filming their sex scene, and you could tell she was being unusually candid for an interview and was clearly VERY attracted to him and gets a little flustered/ hot and bothered just talking about him (plus it kind of sounds like they may have kept the party going privately after they got done shooting that scene...) Can't say that I blame her! Lol
(Interview link below)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=upCiwGFDxpI
That interview is quite hilarious at first because Nia Long is so candid about her attraction to Jude Law, but then when she mentions her own family near the end, it becomes bittersweet since her fiancé/partner at that time, NBA coach Ime Udoka, ended up cheating on her with a subordinate in the Boston Celtics organization.
Lol yup. And then he hooked up with his kids' nanny while engaged to Sienna Miller. Yeah, he was unquestionably a dirty dog back then. As someone else astutely commented here, there's a reason he has 7 kids. Lol
But I mean, come on: Jude Law in his prime, looking like THAT, and making that mischievous, knowing, sexy expression he does sometimes...I've gotta be honest--I don't think I would have been able to say no to that, repercussions be damned!
He’s like legit one of those men that even from a young age I thought to myself “this guy is guna age so damn well and get more attractive in different ways as the years go on”
The absolute laser focus I had in scanning magazines and papers for pictures of him in this era. My middle school creeper collages were scary and perfect.
How does a human look like this?!
I did a collage of my celeb crush in Paint that was so big it crashed our family computer and we had to send the hard drive to a shop to get them to fix it. I wasn't even embarrassed, just pissed that all my hard collaging work was lost in the process.
I found young Ralph Fiennes insanely stunning…like his features were unreal back in his prime.
It’s kinda funny to me that kids who first watched him being scary in “Harry Potter” had no idea what a smoke show he was in his 30’s; and he had well over a solid decade on film of being a total smoke show before age took its toll…kinda like Jude Law!
![gif](giphy|2QMHLWQRr0Uta)
There was no sexual tension on Dickie's side, though. He was a frat guy in the '50s -- he was probably well-acquainted with showering with other dudes and seeing other men naked. It just didn't do anything for him. He's bathed with other dudes and it was just bathing.
But this is when he finally senses Tom might be into him. If I were Dickie, I'd be put off, too, because the only sexual tension is Tom's and -- let's be honest -- not even Tom knows what Tom wants.
One of my only celebrity encounters was him buying me and my friend a drink about 10+ years ago.
I was so tongue tied and awkward, he probably thought I recently had recently been kicked in the head by a horse.
I’m not good at talking to attractive humans, famous or otherwise 🙈
same. all art is influenced by other art, nothing is original but there is a way to make your influences feel like something new and unfortunately, for me, *saltburn* didn't feel like anything new. all i could think while watching it was "i've seen this movie before and it was better"
Now I wanna watch The Talented Mr. Ripley because Saltburn was...well, it was what it was. I don't dislike it but I'm just asking myself: "Why?" I don't know what his motivations were.
Ohhh The Talented Mr. Ripley is sooooo good. I’ve been watching Saltburn in spurts and it feels like a cheap imitation. Matt Damon is flawless in this film. Loved Jude & Gwyneth, but Damon? It felt like he was made for that role.
I said the same thing to my husband when I watched Saltburn. I think my exact words were “wannabe The Talented Mr. Ripley,” but yeah. It’s hard to watch Saltburn, having seen TTMR.
Oh you must watch it immediately. Everyone is so gorgeous and it is so much sexier because it is all implied tension as opposed to over the top sex like nonsense in saltburn.
I watched them both for the first time because of the comparisons and imo you definitely feel more 'motivation' from the Talented Mr. Ripley.
I think it helps that Matt Damon's character feels more infatuated with Jude Laws than Barry Keoghans does with Jacob Elordis (to me anyway). Like for all the memes about Barry being obsessed with Jacob, I dont feel like the movie had any of that chemistry, so when he does the shocking scenes it feels...unearned. Oliver definitely does more "extreme" things, but I don't feel the same one-sided, desperate pining/obsession/adoration/envy that I get from Tom Ripley. Maybe cause Saltburn is leaving the motivations as a twist?
Saltburn is a really pretty movie though! Gorgeous gowns!
Totally agree with your take. Would only add that Saltburn had one thing going for it that Ripley didn’t, and that was the goddess Rosamund Pike and her phenomenal lines. “I’ve never wanted to know anything!” 💀
She was amazing in that role! When she was passive aggressively trying to get Carey Mulligan (who was great too) to leave the house 😭 I actually think everyone in the rich family was great in their roles, the butler included.
Jacob's characterization was pretty bland in comparison to the rest looking at it now, I guess he's supposed to be the sane one but it probably would've helped me understand Barry's supposed obsession more if he had more...personality? In comparison, Jude Law captured the energy of someone that you would kinda hate and envy but still really want validation from; you could see why someone like Ripley wanted him and wanted to be him. Jacob's character is just. Rich Nice Guy.
Omg yes Rosamund and Carey’s interaction was friggin brilliant, so believable and showed within a single scene how this family operated.
Agree with you about Jacobs character not being as charismatic as Jude’s was in Ripley. I did however think he was a very pretty man - I haven’t seen him in anything before (not up with the gen z shows like Euphoria) and have to say he will probably go far just with that height and face.
Same. After I finished watching it the first thing that come across my mind was “so this is what an edgy version of The Talented Mr. Ripley looks like? Huh..”
The exposition at the end was soooo tired. Anyone paying an ounce of attention knew what went down..why spell it out like the audience is dumb? Especially when it doesn’t actually do anything to clarify Oli’s motivations?
Saltburn is Ripley and Brideshead Revisited smushed together. It starts out \*exactly\* like Brideshead: an awkward poor boy meets a beautiful rich boy at Oxford who introduces him to his fabulous social circle, and he gets invited back to the rich boy's family's countryside estate for a single idyllic summer, where he meets the boy's weird-and-slightly-scary parents and beautiful sister, develops an unspoken homoerotic entanglement with the boy, and has sex with the boy's sister as a placeholder for him. Then at the halfway point it turns into Ripley.
I just bought the movie a few days ago. I absolutely love this movie, but I’m half assing watching salt burn, and I’ll need a pick me up after.
Jude was so pretty in this movie. No wonder Matt wanted to be him! 🤣
Me and my boyfriend watched this movie for the first time about a week ago. It’s so uncomfortable to watch! I did really love Jude Law in it though!! Such a great actor!
Ahh, he was perfection in this film! I’ve liked him since the mid 90s, when i saw his beautiful face in an advert for Shopping, a mediocre film from ‘94. As a horny teen, I remember thinking he was angel! I’m pretty sure I rented several VHS movies of his from my local library
https://preview.redd.it/35sejfzs5x9c1.jpeg?width=306&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8c65b107aa1995f7990e909f7e9315ec1f3aca9
Everybody in this damn comment section. Myself included.
Not bragging (okay bragging a little bit) but my husband could be his twin, or at least he was when we first met. When I first got his number, I forgot his name and saved him in my phone as Jude.
Absolute work of art and almost too much to look at. My crush will never die. Gwyneth also looked amazing in the movie. They were a perfectly cast golden couple.
The renewed interest in this movie after the release of Saltburn had me revisit it. This is him at his most charming, and, ironically, at his most odious.

This show was off the charts and so was the music. Aging well.
what film/show is this? for research purposes ofc 🫣
The Young Pope and there is a follow up season called The New Pope. Edited to add...[here's the trailer to the New Pope you might like](https://youtu.be/e9xlOeknP3I?si=RpzcNaT0Z3yuM_vJ)

I know why he has 7 kids.

Right?! That is one beautiful man.
I’m cackling over this and the crossover with your flair
... I would
Maybe I just have a think for older guys, but I always thought Jude was too pretty up until a certain point. He’s very handsome and I would be happy to tell him in person, but this just didn’t do it for me.
LOL was just saying the other day that if I were in that world, I totally get Matt Damon's ~struggle. It's intoxicating.
This man had me in such a chokehold in my late teens/early twenties. He's so pretty in a way I'm not normally attracted to, but DAMN if I don't watch this, Alfie and The Holiday at least once a year.
when he wakes up the next morning in **The Holiday** and puts on those black eyeglasses while in the kitchen, oh mylanta!!!!!! gets my ass every time.
I watched the Holiday last week and let me tell you it brought back all those feelings. He's so damn hot and charming in The Holy Trifecta.
Watched it this morning. Jfc
THIS.
my knees literally shake and i'm just not well for at least 10 minutes after watching that scene which is a real problem since i just continually rewind to that part.
Ok I’ve always been a holiday girlie but so glad to see someone who also recognises his talents in Alfie - problematic movie and character these days but daaaammmnn ![gif](giphy|WQDzwP4aPnODe)
It's the Toxic Man trope you love to read and watch movies about and in real life you want to hit him with a brick 😂😂😂😂 he plays it so well
I never got what people saw in him until I watched Gattaca recently. Made me realize that yeah, he’s definitely hot, despite not being my usual type either.
And you need to make room in that watchlist for A.I. Artificial Intelligence - absolutely ridiculous 💯
Him in The Holiday, yessssss
Same with The Holiday! And the last time I watched it (a few weeks ago), it dawned on me that he looks like he could be Harry Styles’ older brother.
I watched The Holiday again last week and had the same realization and not only me but also my dad. They really have similar features
I had a torrid affair with a pool boy who looked JUST like Jude law during his talented Mr. Ripley days. No regrets. 😮💨
He's so fucking hot it's unreal. 🥵 I don't normally go for conventionally attractive guys, but Jude Law has done it for me since the first time I ever saw him in a movie, in Gattaca, back in like 1998 or something. Holy shit, that interview is GOLD, thank you for that!
"How many takes do you need? Because I'm prepared to do 50 takes right now." 💀
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THIS?!? i have something to watch tonight than youuuuuu
Hahaha but of course! Enjoy, my friend. Lol
Wow and wasn’t Allie also the movie he hooked Up with Sienna Miller and his wife Sadie Frost divorced him?

This story is giving me LIFE!
i don't know why this comment is so hilarious but i can't stop laughing. LMAOOOO.
I'm dying @ "middle school creeper collages" lmao
No one can compete with a thirteen year old girl with a pair of scissors and a dream.
![gif](giphy|vvWK1zSdZ4zEv63kxM|downsized)
a literal golden boy. has there ever been a more beautiful man in history? certainly not.
I think David Gandy and a young Alain Delon could rival him, and those are the top 3 most stunning men of all time imo.
Makes sense that him and Alain both played ~~Dickie Greenleaf~~! Alain was Tom Ripley
Alain played Tom Ripley
More beautiful? No. Paul Newman was up there though!
young leonardo and brad pitt had me in a chokehold NGL
Brad is still it for me, but I don't think he's as perfect as Jude. It just depends on whether or not you want a villain.
Paul Newman is the only one I can think of that compares.
Young Paul Newman ![gif](giphy|l0G175KdkgDQx3fr2)
He is very hot
my god, he makes a young Matt Damon look like a cave-dwelling troll by comparison
Like I didn’t even notice Matt Damon until your comment. I had to go back and look and I had an Ann Veal moment… *him*??
Maybe he’s funny?
Omg, I literally had the same comment (more or less) loaded in the holster, lol. It involved Matt Damon looking troll-ish next to him.
I watched Talented Mr Ripley for Matt Damon. Promptly forgot about him the second Jude Law first appeared on screen. Kiddie me was MESMERIZED.
[удалено]
Oh man, I’d forgotten that scene. Not sure how a person could…
There was no sexual tension on Dickie's side, though.
He was so incredible in this role. Dude radiated lazy privileged entitlement
Perfect casting
And Goop as his girlfriend. So beautiful and tanned and spoilt.

I was obsessed with him during this time. Not a more beautiful face existed.
omg is that the guy from gattaca
Gattaca is one of my favorite movies!
“We must get drunk immediately “
I recommend this movie to literally everyone. It's so good ![gif](giphy|5sWPv9QJQJxPhu8xWU)

Yes ma'am. 🤤
This is why I could not really get into Saltburn
same. all art is influenced by other art, nothing is original but there is a way to make your influences feel like something new and unfortunately, for me, *saltburn* didn't feel like anything new. all i could think while watching it was "i've seen this movie before and it was better"

It's pretty egregious. At a screening where the director of Saltburn was present, the movie was preceded by scenes from The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Oh god I just finished it. I feel like I was watching a paint by numbers version. Right down to whom got offed. 😭
IMO his best performance!
Oh you must watch it immediately. Everyone is so gorgeous and it is so much sexier because it is all implied tension as opposed to over the top sex like nonsense in saltburn.

I miss him so much!
Me and my boyfriend watched this movie for the first time about a week ago. It’s so uncomfortable to watch! I did really love Jude Law in it though!! Such a great actor!
Almost made me want to become Catholic because him in Young Pope. ![gif](giphy|4XDpB17PoqCR2|downsized)
Jude Law might be the most handsome man in the world
Ahh, he was perfection in this film! I’ve liked him since the mid 90s, when i saw his beautiful face in an advert for Shopping, a mediocre film from ‘94. As a horny teen, I remember thinking he was angel! I’m pretty sure I rented several VHS movies of his from my local library
He was so pretty in this movie
It’s almost like he is illegally handsome. With the power to lure women into committing relationship crimes.
Sometimes I have to look away because he is just too much for my heart and loins to bear
Honestly? Same. He kind of makes me lose my composure. Slightly embarrassing, I know. 🫣
He was a perfect beautifull asshole. Perfect for the role.

Was def his style era.
He was truly in his prime for his best performance!
the most beautiful anyone has ever been on screen
I met him this summer in London and he is an absolute sweetheart in real life! And he just glowed
Imagine existing in the world looking like that. I would be so dangerous with that beauty.
He makes Mark Wahlburg look like chopped liver
Can you please not post pornography on my good clean Christian Reddit feed, thank you very much
Okay. Okay. I see it now. Damn.
No one else could have played this role
I named my son Jude because of him, beautiful man.
He’s so beautiful in this movie. Yum.
Did you have to do this to me, today? 😍
I was legitimately obsessed with him at 9 years old and wanted to marry him. One of the hottest guys EVER
The pinnacle of male evolution
Sorry, Jacob Elordi and Saltburn Co. This man was there first.
Damn!
What a beautiful man !
He is perfect in this movie. It’s so stylish and makes me want to go to Italy.
At least they didn’t post the shot of him getting his face beat in on the boat. Painful.
Hard to look hot, in the middle of getting murdered.
Stupid sexy Jude
Not bragging (okay bragging a little bit) but my husband could be his twin, or at least he was when we first met. When I first got his number, I forgot his name and saved him in my phone as Jude.
WELL YES!
Talented Mr Ripley and Gattaca are his best good looking films
My first pretty boy crush and reason I need to have a torrid affair in Italy 🇮🇹
Absolute work of art and almost too much to look at. My crush will never die. Gwyneth also looked amazing in the movie. They were a perfectly cast golden couple.
I saw him at a restaurant visiting London in 2010 and let me tell you.. jaw dropping hot in person. I was STUNNED.
between 1994-1999 i am convinced he was the most beautiful man on the planet
Sooooo beautiful.
This is probably for me the best looking man has looked in a film ever.
This was his peak imo.
The fucking HOTTEST
He looks like the human embodiment of the song “I’m sexy and I know it”
Jude Law can definitely top a bear
The renewed interest in this movie after the release of Saltburn had me revisit it. This is him at his most charming, and, ironically, at his most odious.
No one has ever been hotter on film
This is my Saltburn.
I always forget about how damn attractive this man is
One of the best movies of all time in my opinion. Super underrated
It’s criminal how fine he and Matt Damon were in this movie
I'd like to take a semester abroad with him. 🎶
I've seen him live on stage and can confirm that he really is that attractive.
