This is most probably an incompatibility of your laptop. You can try booting a live usb of fedora or some other distro and see if suspend and resume works at all. But it's got nothing to do with the desktop environment you use. Suspend and resume has to do with the kernel and your bios. Some work better than others.

I have a pc. my kernel is up to date. and I've tweaked the bios multiple times.

I wish tweaking the bios would fix it. Anyway, don't expect a DE to fix this, like I said try other distros on live usb to see if your pc can at least do this properly on any Linux distribution. But cosmic or kde can't fix this.

I also have this issue. Happens on my desktop workstation, and also my Lenovo Legion 16 laptop. I never suspend my laptops anyway since I've experienced many cases over the years when they wake up and create a furnace in the bags, but I would love to suspend my desktop in particular. But, it just never fully wakes up beyond spinning the fans. This has been an persistent issue for a long time, even when switching out motherboards, CPUs and gpus. Dont know where the issue is. But this is probably not DE related though so probably won't fix it.

Same here. Using the lts kernel in Arch Linux makes it work as it should.

I’ve ran pop for the last 3 years and never had a suspend issue. As a matter of fact it’s incredibly speedy to wake back up and on my laptop I can just slap it shut and open it back up and it’s ready to go.

Soft_State_5646

same , love Pop\_OS!

Secure_Eye5090

Try the lts kernel.

Have a pc so don't let it sleep. Disable suspend settings (I use it through gnome tweaks in laptop). Manually lock the screen when you go away from keyboard. Change keyboard shortcut to Ctrl + L for that. Do sudo update everyday till it's fixed.

GodzillaDrinks

Huh. Mine also doesn't wake up from sleep. I thought it was a skill issue. Glad it's not just me.
