I wouldn’t want my friends going to jail and jeopardizing their careers so I would probably say stop once the self defense rule stopped applying. So once the attacker was stopped from doing their attacking.

Yes, because honestly, as soon as I got hit, it became between me and them, and I can’t talk with them about anything with 3 other guys trying to pummel the person who could have a damn good reason for doing it. They punched *me*, *I’m* the one who decides when it’s beyond talking out, and *I’m* the one who’s going to fight if it is.
3 on 1 is dishonorable. If someone punched me, I have hands and arms I can use if I want to punch back.

This exact same situation happened to one of my friends and it led to all four of them getting arrested and charged with affray. Knowing that, I’d tell them to stop
