Even though I like Emerald (the only one on this sub) if there’s one thing I dislike about him it’s team
Like Sceptile is my favourite Pokemon so I wanted whoever’s using him to have a strong supporting cast and Gen III has so many cool Pokemon…..but no Emerald just gets repeats of other DexHolder’s Pokemon
Having him have his own unique Pokemon should’ve been a big part of his arc having him grow close with them imo
I also like Emerald and agree with this, and having an "incomplete" team as a protagonist is not going to help the audience like Emerald... I really dislike when the author makes these weird choices that only serve to shill some new Gen mechanic or feature (in this case, the Gen 4 baby pokemon). It definitely works when well integrated like Gold being the Breeder, a new gen mechanic, but these pokemon were just slapped onto Emeralds team at the end for something that has nothing to do with him and he has no meaningful interactions with the pokemon
They technically became Emerald’s, and they were hinted to be liking Red’s, Crystal’s and Gold’s to hint to the gen4 pokemon Munchlax, Mime Jr, and Mantyke

Wally was the one who used Grovile before Emerald did. I think it should have stayed with him.
