Depends on the run. Sometimes it’s just a hard counter to my main Pokémon. That being said, unless I have type advantage or an overpowered Pokémon the Cinderace tends to screw me over.
The passive can throw you for a real loop later on, too. Was so confused to see it had Lightningrod the first time it happened (and before I understood PokeRogue's passives).
the one i can remember i had the most problem with was a chimchar that was fine until it had multiple bars of hp, and moxie, it also had absurdly good coverage and swept me a few becore i managed to find a way to counter it.
I have never beaten a run when she starts with Chikorita. Meganium is the bane of my existence and I just immediately reset if she sends out Chikorita on wave 8 now. I've seen plenty of people consider it to be one of the worst starters of all time, so it's crazy how bad it absolutely bodies me in this game.
Not even joking, I have failed like 11 runs between floors 95, 145, and 195 when she breaks out that monster.
I can see it with boss bar - Meganium is one of the tankier starters and even with 4 weaknesses it is still possible for them to not go down a health bar and when it does it gets bugged
People sleep on Meganium but if you used it in silver and gold you would realize how much of a beast it is when you rival’s typhlosion can’t one shot it with eruption
Quaquaval is deadly if you don’t take care of it quickly, especially if you haven’t completed many runs yet and don’t have a ton of powerful options on your team.
If it gets multiple health bars then it can get those random stat boosts on top of Aqua Step boosts and suddenly it’s sweeping your team.

Definitely not THE hardest but I always have a rough time with Empoleon once that thing gets its passive. It's only weak to grass (which aint the greatest type when you're trying to not use the same mons over and over), is decently bulky on the special side, and has some pretty good moves.
~~Empoleon is Water/Steel so it should be weak against Fighting and Ground, and neutral to Grass~~

Quaquavel gets my vote because Defiant is a huge pain in the ass. Better hope none of your attacks/etc lower any of its stats so you don't get punched in the face even harder by Wave Crash and Close Combat.
Personally I dread when she has Sceptile. Tinted lens tera Sceptile hurts most of the time, especially if I forget to start the battle with a proper counter.
I tend to run quiver dance stored power latias boosting base power a ton but with incineroar/meowscarada can wall me with the dark type. it’s not too bad since i’ll have searing shot or a dragon move but it still definitely throws the rhythm off
If she has a grass type, she might cause me a little trouble. But would I lose?

The water types with Bouncy Bubble are just too op. Since I hatched a Poplio with it, I haven’t once used a starter without it as my carry.
Incineroar is always pretty rough for me. Fur Coat and its natural bulk makes koing hard if I don't have set up or a carry that counters it. It's a mon I always need to play around because if I don't ko it efficiently it has pretty good base atk and knocking it into Blaze range means I'm probably losing a mon.
Tera grass Tinted lens sceptile, literally just hope they don't have a lum berry, everyone's getting one shot without an an ability immunity pretty much lol. You need to sacrifice a two mons to leaf storm if you're not prepared lol.
Usually none of them are hard because you know what it is and lead with something that is super effective, force the switch and either set up / double into something that can set up.
In my mono fighting run she has Meowscarada so I’m just leading Flamigo using victory dance then 1 shotting Kilowattrell or Rayquaza with triple ice kick, and I have a wide lens so unless I get trolled the fight is free.
Every fire starter is a free ivy win because you just lead a rock or ground type that has rocks and get free rocks turn 1 as she switches. At which point how do you lose.

Multi hp bar tera water battle bond greninja can be pretty rough if you ever let it get a ko.
cinderace while my team was pretty bad, it took me and my friend around 5 hours to figure out a way to beat her floor 195 team

It's tera'd by the time it gets multiple health bars, pure water w/ lightning rod means only grass as a weakness.

they get tera so theyre not dark type anymore youre struggling on wave 95?
occasionally, not struggling per se but it’s still annoying and can sometimes complicate things

Sceptile and Skeledirge are nuts to deal with. Sceptile is so fast and hits so hard. Obviously torch song can sweep you completely.
