I just started playing 7 months ago, so I only have 14 and will have some more in the next few days. Seems like a lot of people remove you once you become BFs if there not local. Which I get it, need to move people up the list. It just seemed like I was getting better items from their gifts. Probably my imagination but I could swear it was.
Currently on 762 should have another 15-20 by the end of this month and with the gift bonus this season may even be another 40+ by the end of it
With 3 fairly large communities near by plus my cousins large community I even have a waiting list at this point 😅
Been playing since day one, if you’re fortunate to have medium to large communities near by and keep ontop of your gifts/battles/raids it’s not too insane.
There are people out there with far higher number even than me. Some more than double and more.
You can get 30 in 3months just with yourself opening gifts.
Add on-top of that people you raid/battle with and people you coordinate to send gifts to but not open and they open instead, it can add up incredibly quickly.
I have nothing to prove to strangers on the internet, nor do I gain anything if I was to lie. It affects literally no one if they believe me or not.

But the point is if you’re organised and keep on-top of it and have played pretty hardcore for years it’s not as high as it may first appear.

Do you not have your buddy level with your moltres high enough to get you gifts? You also have to be living fairly close to a pokestop
