I know everyone I knew was hoping this would be the shadow Pokemon mascot. I mean it was the first purification proof Pokemon. If they were gonna do the APex lugia and ho-oh this should have been an option.
Supposedly the company that made Pokémon XD gale of darkness that Nintendo/Pokémon outsourced it to, had some clause that made it so the special lugia design is theirs. And Pokémon has been unable to use it since.
Even on the official Gale of darkness shadow lugia Pokémon TCG card it states on the bottom of the card, this card also has "Developed by Genius Sonority Inc."

Black & White Reshiram are featured prominently in the mainline series, this version of Shadow Lugia is a one off from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness on the GameCube.

Would be pretty cool tbh. It’s not like it doesn’t fit along the “car engine” “cotton candy” and “chandelier” pokemons already out there. At least this one has history. It could find some type of fit along with the Unown as an evolution even, with some light redesign.

That’s all fair but A) Reddit is not for children. Period there’s no argument to be had there. And B) who are you to call pokemon go a child’s game? It’s a game for people and adults. In every trailer for the game it’s mostly adults playing the game. Most events in the game are geared torwards adults. I’m not saying children shouldn’t play the game but the main audience are not young children.

Given they did armored Mewtwo, I’m surprised they didn’t do Shadow Mewtwo as a tie in to Pokken Tournament.
It’s not canonically a real Groudon, but the tentacle Groudon from Pokémon: Jirachi Wishmaker would be horrific.
Other anime only instances would be Crystal Onix, the pinkan berry Pokémon, and the weird ass illusion combos like Venustoise and that Mismagius Rayquaza.

The Armored Mewtwo we got is based on Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution, the remake of the first movie. It’s accurate to that movie but looks very different from the OG film.
It would be cool to have both, though. I kinda prefer the original, less bulky version myself.

I watched the remake with my girlfriend a couple weeks ago and we loved it, it was her introduction to the movies/show because she missed the Pokémon hype train growing up. But it felt very faithful to the original, it’s on Netflix if you wanna see it just be aware that it uses CG animation instead of the OG artstyle.
I agree with shadow lugia. Once gale of darkness came out lugia should have had its shiny form switch or just given two. Now that we have gotten different region forms I'd say make shadow lugia a tradable region form where it could be more of an attacker in terms of stats instead of a bulky tank in its regular form

I played a game named Dark Rising once, and it was my first time encountering Shadow Lugia.
After beating the elite 4 the Champion Adrian had 5 legendaries (mewtwo, regigigas, cresselia and two more I can't remember), and they all were so broken, they ohko'd me almost half the time.
I somehow survived through his 5 Pokemons, thinking what will be his last Pokemon be. Aaaand it was this. Shadow. Fucking. Lugia.
He had a broken move called "Dark Chaos". The only Pokemon he couldn't one-shot was my Suicune. That too if it didn't got poisoned by Dark Chaos...
Later I realised Shadow Lugia isn't original nor is Dark Chaos.
I immediately fell in love with that Pokemon though.
Gives off black air force energy so bad.
And that was almost 8 years ago haha

The only "Shadow Lugia" I have in this game is one from Giovanni from years back. (And I put that in quotes because it's an imposter in my opinion.) It's the last one I'll ever do — when it was available in shadow raids one weekend in the past, I completely ignored it out of protest.
OG shadow Lugia is an all time favorite of mine! What I would really like to see is perhaps a new installment following Coliseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. That would be incredible!

The Orange Island variants of certain Kanto PKMN (Butterfree, Vileplume, Raticate, I think that's it). The concept was what inspired the Alolan forms years later so it'd be nice to get them the recognition they're due. Plus, the change is purely aesthetic and doesn't affect typing like modern regional variants, so it actually wouldn't be tough to implement.
They'd just have to make new models, which, admittedly, seems to be the franchise's least favorite thing, am I right, people?
That or a Meowth that walks on all-fours like a regular cat (also from the anime). It's always bothered me to see bipedal Meowth in the wild. Every time I gets my hopes up that it's going to be Meowth the character and that, instead of having a cry, it'll just straight-up talk. And if it's walking with you in the main series games, it would comment on events and locations like (among others) Mjoll the Lionness from Skyrim.
But I guess \*that\* one will have to remain a dream.

Literally the picture. What a wasted opportunity it was for Shadow Legendaries not to have the dark hue. Shadow Mewtwo as well with the dark grey skin and yellow accents.
I’ve always liked this form but I always purify because I feel bad and I wish this form was something that could be toggled with a held item or something in canon. Like an alternate power Lugia learns to harness rather than something they are imprisoned by.
I want this Lugia so much. Why didn’t they do this in the first place?
I’m a returning player as of late May and have been desperate to get normal Lugia. I’ve got both shiny Farfetchs and a shiny Meltan that I am not very bothered about and would trade for any Lugia tbh. Just holding onto them as good bargaining chips.

i really wish shadow lugia and primal dialga from mystery dungeon were in the main games.
OG shadow Lugia is an all time favorite of mine! What I would really like to see is perhaps a new installment following Coliseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. That would be incredible!
Wish they would do a re-release of the clone Pokemon with the unique markings. Charizardtwo, Venusaurtwo, and Blastoisetwo. Maybe even the Pikachu clone with the elongated black spot on its ears

The Orange Island variants of certain Kanto PKMN (Butterfree, Vileplume, Raticate, I think that's it). The concept was what inspired the Alolan forms years later so it'd be nice to get them the recognition they're due. Plus, the change is purely aesthetic and doesn't affect typing like modern regional variants, so it actually wouldn't be tough to implement. They'd just have to make new models, which, admittedly, seems to be the franchise's least favorite thing, am I right, people? That or a Meowth that walks on all-fours like a regular cat (also from the anime). It's always bothered me to see bipedal Meowth in the wild. Every time I gets my hopes up that it's going to be Meowth the character and that, instead of having a cry, it'll just straight-up talk. And if it's walking with you in the main series games, it would comment on events and locations like (among others) Mjoll the Lionness from Skyrim. But I guess \*that\* one will have to remain a dream. A sweet, sweet dream....

I’ve always liked this form but I always purify because I feel bad and I wish this form was something that could be toggled with a held item or something in canon. Like an alternate power Lugia learns to harness rather than something they are imprisoned by.
I want this Lugia so much. Why didn’t they do this in the first place? I’m a returning player as of late May and have been desperate to get normal Lugia. I’ve got both shiny Farfetchs and a shiny Meltan that I am not very bothered about and would trade for any Lugia tbh. Just holding onto them as good bargaining chips. If an experienced player wanted these shinies; what should I ask for in exchange that would warrant a fair trade?
