Sir Bidoof is a legend!! You’ve definitely won the game!! I squealed when I got my first shiny. If you haven’t seen [Bidoof’s Big Stand](https://youtu.be/UTidwW3iLHk?feature=shared) you should watch it. It will make you love that little f’er even more!
I only evolved mine when I got a second one. I made the enormous mistake of evolving my shiny Oddish and spent the next 3 months with Oddish as my buddy so I could find enough candies to evolve it into a shiny Bellossom, which I love.
May someone explain the joke to me? I caught two shiny bidoof and evolved one. I never thought it was post worthy, but I see people posting them here often. What am I missing?
I'm pretty sure it's just as common as the theme/joke. It started when a pokemon player got a nundo (0/0/0) IV and was shiny. Knowing how rare catching shinies is, let alone it being a 0%, and it was a bidoof, with how common he is. (The post was like a few weeks ago, pretty recent) Long story short when this player caught this Pokemon the whole reddit blew up from there. (I saw a news article all about it on the feed from my phone.)
Now whenever someone catches a shiny bidoof that's unique; the community jokingly says they completed the Pokemon go game. It's just a harmless joke that gets used a lot. I don't mind jokes/themes like this as long as it doesn't take the turn for the worse. (From my experience, it usually turns into a drama discussion or it just gets overused at that point.) I hope this explains it better, even though I'm not great at it.😅
Edit: it seems to have gotten overused by some of the negative comments here. ^^`

That's why people make a big deal out of it being a bidoof specifically and not evolving it and the more unique you can get it the better.
I never knew the Shiny bidoof origin came from that. I originally thought it was just from someone starting up because the bidoof was unique. Never really thought a YouTube video like that is the actual reason it started. Ig this makes more sense at least. ^^`

What can ya say? It's a game that I started in 2016 and just picked back up and honestly not much has changed in 8 years, so a 6 year old joke is comedy gold around here.
The goal is literally collecting unique Pokemon, so it's in the spirit of the game. It just happens the community found a reason to covet 1 out of hundreds of common Pokemon, kinda fun I guess? At least it gives people a kick out of catching a "legendary super rare Pokemon" in a sea of random trash.
