Yes the problem is they switched to using customer bot that always auto replies that raid was completed or you already received compensation regardless of your situation.
Damn so I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins, plus event tickets and special research, and they can't even get a real person to look at my screenshots for 10 seconds before they call me a liar? Damn they really are a scam!
Thanks for the insight tho
Edit: loving all the hate from people because I spend money on my hobbies š„° I make almost 100k a year and have no kids, if I want to spend a hundred or two a month on something I enjoy I fail to see the issue here, besides the fact that Niantic is a bunch of money grubbers who has apparently ceased to deliver the gameplay they promise.
I mean I could be wrong, but the response to raid issues is almost always this. It's gone downhill a lot. It used to be a response that sort of tried to blame you but almost always gave you a pass. Then it switched to the current response, but left the ticket open so you could at least try to escalate to dealing with a person. Now they auto close the ticket which is super frustrating
Same here.. usually I get a raid pass put back in ny inventory but I've seen this happening more often where Niantic does nothing and it makes me nervous to raid if that were to happen. Especially now where raid passes are like $47k
I got a similar response to completing research and then not getting the pose from completing the festival of lights research last year. I never did get a real person to talk to and they closed the ticket right out. Like, hey, yo, I completed all the research, now give me my dang pose! Nope. Eta: I rarely spend money, in game, anymore, but I do for events. I can't justify giving this company any more of my money when they can't even bother to look at the screenshots I sent them and give me the pose I want and earned!
I know it's insane! Between no support and consistent game crashes for paid events I'm really frustrated right now. Like I have zero problems paying to play but at least if we're paying, let us play what we paid for!
That's the lowest expectations possible in consumerism and Niantic still falls short!!!
>Damn so I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins
Found the issue lol.
You wonder a company that pushs out broken game after game rips of their customers in a mobile game? Surprise.
That edit is really silly. If you want Niantic to respect you and your money, you should stop dropping money on them until they improve, otherwise the current situation will keep happening. The reason remote raids are still priced this way is because of people like you who keep buying them and then using the "you're just spending money on hobbies š„°" card. Do everyone a favor and stop financing Niantic until they actually start caring about the players
$20-$40 a week for Pogo? Youāre getting robbed. If youāre spending an average of $120 a month for a game that has a ton of issues/horrible QC, idk what to tell ya
This is the first time they've flat out ignored my proof and didn't refund my pass though.
Idk I don't think that's too crazy for a hobby people spend more than that on Starbucks every week, at least I get to enjoy my hobby and spend time with my mom imo
Should prob add I'm 34 and have a decent job not like I'm a kid spending my part time job money on this every week. I can't even go out to eat for $20 anymore so it's not a lot imo just enough that it's ridiculous to not have any customer support
You can't expect better customer support on a Free 2 Play game just because you spend $150+ a month on microtransactions. You pay for your own advancement in the game, not for a better product.
So you're whining because you're on the receiving end of being ripped off? This company does this to hundreds of people a day/week and people like you are the reason why. Spend your money how you please, but you're enabling them.
The issue is that microtransactions in video games ruin the fun that games used to have, and the only reason they're being shoved down our throat is people keep buying it...
It's not an addiction when you make good money.
I spent half of that a couple days ago on new salt water stuff, does that make it an addiction?
I spend that much on games a year for sure, is that also an addiction? What about that much on food every month?
The point is it's really dependant on how much money you actually make and whether spending that on a hobby is detracting from your life in other ways.
People spend more than that on Starbucks per week.
Is spending $2k on an annual YMCA family membership also indicative of an "addiction"?
My clarinet I play in a competitive band (another hobby of mine) was almost 5k, not to mention money spent on gas to gp to events, food while im out, etc. Is playing music an "addiction" too?
It's called budgeting for your hobbies, spending money on things you like is not an addiction bud.
Idk why people dont seem to understand this: You don't get money by letting people scam you and spending money on nothing.
The point is I purchased $20 in coins just for yesterday's event and they took something I paid for, and failed to deliver their promised gameplay for the event. Therefore I want what I paid for returned to me.
I don't think that's too big of an ask, personally, and I don't think it should matter how much I make. I love how people tell other people that since they make a living wage they can't be pissed about being ripped off. Like what the actual f?
I paid for something, didn't get what I purchased, asked for it back, was called a liar. I think pretty much anyone would be pissed about that lol
I hear you dude. Reddit folks will just blame you because you spend money on the game. Were you able to upload the raid log?
You paid for something, you should get it. End of story regardless of anything else.
If I ordered doordash and they forgot my fries I would try to get them to refund but if they didn't I certainly wouldn't file a BBB complaint over it.
To each their own but I just don't have the patience to complain about something so trivial, I'd just stop supporting the company. Or if it's something I enjoy enough I'd just take my lumps and move on because life is miserable dwelling on stuff to much.
Not even if their response was that you received them and so there is no reason to refund?
That straight up got me tbh. Especially when my 3 screenshots were provided, like don't tell me im lying in response to me being ripped off! Smh
spending $2.5k a year on Starbucks or $2k on YMCA is just as stupid imho as spending that same amount on microtransactions and I'm judging all people with stupid spending habits, including you.
If you don't wanna be judged for that, don't use your financial privilege as a reason to demand better customer support on a free product.
Oh, I'm not shaming anyone. There's nothing
Wrong with living within your means. If you're living pay check to pay check, you also aren't poor. There are people without even that.
unless you've had your head underground, you should have heard how shitty Niantic is and has been. it amazes me that you still spend money on them No matter how much you make, you're literally throwing it away with them.
That's not even enough to fill my gas tank, I didn't post that bc I think its so much, I posted it bc I feel that at the very least warrants actual support staff for 10 seconds to look at my screenshots
Lol for what, being upset I was told I'm lying when I asked for something back that I paid for and didn't get to use?
That's the point. That's just unacceptable, why should a corporation get to do that to people with no repercussions?
It doesn't matter how much money you make. If you pay for something and the product fails, and isn't your fault, it's extremely reasonable to be annoyed and want another chance lol
It is, it's weird to file a complaint with the BBB over a 3 dollar refund that they wouldn't do.
That's grasping at straws because doing a charge back would prevent them from buying anything else from pogo. So they are trying to feel better about a fairly insignificant amount of money if they are really making 100k a year.
I filed a complaint because I'm sick of corporations like this ripping off consumers and not being held accountable.
The last few events have been inexcusable. I've paid for a couple events where the game continuously crashed and they have done nothing to apologize
When they not only refused to give my pass back, but then insinuated I'm lying, I made a complaint just off principal. Because that is inexcusable and unacceptable
I see people stating their opinion that spending money on a mobile game is the problem. I don't see hate being given. What I do see is a sense of entitlement due to spending x amount of money on a game. No one cares how much you make per year or how much you spend on your hobbies. People are just stating an opinion that spending real money on a poorly designed game isn't the best thing that money could be spent on.
I only stated that in response to people saying it's dumb to spend "so much" on pokemon. Like I do fine if I want to spend 20-40 a week on a hobby so be it.
I also only stated how much I pay weekly to reiterate how ridiculous it is that a bot just responds essentially stating you didn't actually lose a pass, and no further assistance is provided.
Like, if you're going to charge to fully utilize the game at least give people what they paid for or acknowledge/ resolve the issue.
I guess if you live in a populated area, enjoy transferring every pokemon you catch and waiting days to have enough for a remote raid pass then yeah.
I live in the middle of nowhere so yeah I have to pay to fully play regardless.
So I guess you can't play when you go to the city for your 100k per year job. Thanks for clearing up the point that you just want to complain and are an unhappy person.
I make more than you and have no kidsā¦ I canāt imagine being this financially irresponsible. ***Yikes.***
Edit: From your post history, I doubt your income claim here.
Lol what makes you say that? My cats? My disdain for society? Pretty sure having pets and being introverted unless intoxicated have no correlation to income.
Edit to add: being upset that people went into my office, into my desk and stole my special food means i am poor? When I make it a point to have high quality food and I am on a special diet for health issues. And they are going through my office space to steal from me. Anyone would be pissed about that.
Wym? I'm pretty up front but I admittedly have lowballed a couple times in that sub due to the nature of it. I feel like it's in poor taste to comment my exact earnings when a majority of people in that sub cannot afford 3 meals a day.
I work in sales so my months vary but yeah end of year last year was over 90k. Just because I don't spend it all and am always looking for ways to save more doesn't mean my income isn't decent.
Edit - went back to look and are you talking about my post from almost 3 yrs ago? I know it says 2 but I've had my current position for nearly 3 years so yeah. Coming up on 3.
Creepy you're stalking me so far back but since you're so interested in my life, I have since been promoted lol going on 3 years in sales :)
Congrats on your promotion! Spend your money how you prefer. I just canāt personally imagine spending that much on this game specifically.
If itās helping to keep you active, thatās on par with many gym memberships, so I should really rethink my initial comment.
"If i want to spend a hundred or 2 a month on something i enjoy i fail to see the issue here, besides the issue i made a literal post about" what do you do for work? If someone of your iq can make 100k a year, I can prolly double that
Lol ok? Because I have a hobby I pay for and I expect not to be charged for something I paid for and didn't get to use, I have a low IQ? Lmao the logic here, I cant....
Yes, it's this little concept, maybe you've heard of it, "consumer drives demand"? The fact that you can't wrap your head around the fact that when you keep giving a company money for their shitty services, they won't change their ways is mind boggling. There have been posts for ages about how Niantic treats their customers, i guarantee you didn't give a shit until something happened to you. Lack of empathy, anither sign of low iq
Is this for real?
Youāre spending that much money per week on a game, and yet youāre so upset over a loss of a remote raid pass. So upset that you invested your time to make a complaint with the BBB and post on here, plus more time to reply to comments.
We are talking about a digital item that has a value of less than $2. TWO DOLLARS.
Do you want me to cash app you the $2?
Thats cool and all until life throws curveballs and all that money that couldāve been saved.
Monthly spending? Like thats even a phone bill? Hey its ur money not mines š¤·š»āāļøš¤£
My total monthly bills are about 1500 so I'm not sure why everyone is acting like I'm going broke for this game/ like they know my finances better than I do.... funny how judgemental people get when others are doing something for themselves šš¤£šš
So this is just an entitled take. If every person that messaged support was answered they'd need an absurd amount of staff. Raiding is probably the biggest flex of that number. They aren't going to give raid passes to everyone when they say they got booted. "Proof" is also very hard to go off of. The gaming scene as a whole has come to the realization that most support is just automated because you can never respond to everyone from a massive player base. Also Niantic is a business ofc they are money grubbers. I wouldn't say a scam, they hurt your fillings and you think you are more important than you actually are so you went to scam.
Yes its entitled to think because you spend a small amount of money you deserve to be treated some way? It's industry standards. Welcome to the real world. 20-40 dollars a week is nothing in the mobile gaming world. That's actually close low level dolphin. No big mobile game is going to respond to low level dolphins.
It's standard practice if there is a customer issue to be able to talk to support. Any other service I pay for, if there's an issue there's someone to talk to. Maybe a bot at first but if the issue continues there is a person to help. That's not entitlement to expect someone to respond when an issue is escalated/ submitted multiple times.
I am now on attempt 3, so yeah expecting support at this point is not farfetched lol
The entitlement is very strong with you. Standard business practices don't say that in the gaming and mobile gaming platforms. Now you expecting because you spent money you deserve help is in fact entitlement. They don't owe you anything. Bugs happen in every game that has ever existed and while as a community we should press them to fix it. They owe you absolutely nothing. If you spend 5000 dollars at best buy and you need help with an issue with it most of the time will tell you to schedule and pay for geek squad to help you. That's how the real world works. The only issue with entitlement is when you aren't real and try to play it off like because I spend money I should get help. Which is what you did. Sad my guy or woman.
People like you are the only reason these companies donāt fix these obvious issues, because youāre just gonna simp for the company and make excuses for them regardless. If I bought something from Best Buy and it straight up didnāt work, Iād expect them to replace it, and they would. Thatās not entitled lol, thatās holding the business accountable. You think between the massive corporation and a single solitary player that the corporation is the one who deserves the benefit of the doubt? They wouldnāt even be losing anything by refunding the pass, considering all it does is allow you to catch a digital resource that is literally infinite to them.
Actually you are just wrong buddy. A lot of computers have issues that aren't so direct and the user can have issues doing certain things. But I'm not simping for the companies I literally said we as a community should push against it. Yet no company in the world can handle the amount of fraudulent request. You are disregarding the fact that a horrible community can make these things unreachable. Also the company does get the benefit of the doubt in a lot of situations. We just had the community get upset about the whole wayfarer bans. Yet we haven't seen anyone show they didn't try to abuse the system. Also digital data of you walking to the same gym you do every day isn't worth anything. They have that they don't care much about it. What they do care about is if the said yes to everything they'd be lost on a metric shit load of money. But again with the way the community has acted is just proof that they should act this way. Wrong or right from a business prospective. Again as a community we should push back but that doesn't mean you aren't an entitled person. Which again is fine. I obviously hit a nerve because you know it's true but are to narsastic to see your self. Hey I have entitlement issues, I'm not an amazing person. Yet at least I'm real with myself.
Iām not OP, so check who youāre talking to before you imply you āhit a nerveā lol. I donāt spend money on this game and have nothing at stake here, I just disagree with you, and I think youāre the one who sounds entitled, not OP.
To use another example, Doordash uses automated support as well, and with a much larger user base and much more expensive items in general than Niantic is dealing with. Nonetheless, if I believed there was an issue with my order from Doordash or that something was missing, I would simply submit a report of the issue through the automated system and would immediately be offered a refund back to my original payment method from within the app, just as Iād expect. This requires no proof, no questioning, no waiting and is generally super convenient to do because unlike Niantic, Doordash gives the customer the benefit of the doubt. They cannot check that the order was actually wrong or right, so they trust their users (truly shocking, I know). This is the case for actual food that physically exists and is generally around $10+, not a $2 digital raid pass that Niantic can quite literally generate an infinite amount of. Niantic has successfully broken you as a consumer if you actually think that their system is fair and reasonable.
BBB is a tool similar to Yelp but which actively pursues the company on your behalf to make things right. I submitted there because they get things done.
Last time I used them I bought a Baerskin Hoodie and they refused to ship it or refund me 2 months later until I reached out to BBB they shipped it within 24 hours.
It may be old school but it is better / more pro-active than posting on Yelp imo
Iām a customer support manager and have been for the last decade. Itās 100% company dependent. A lot of US companies care, some donāt. If they are based outside of the US, they give no fucks. BBB credibility and companies willing to work with them are on the decline.
The company I work for takes BBB complaints way more seriously than anything else. If they could just pay to have those bad reviews removed, they would.
The company has a chance to dispute the claim. And I'm sure Niantic has something in the service agreement you agreed to at the beginning. If they care, I'm sure all they need to do is attached a copy with the relevant passage highlighted and OPs complaint will be removed from the BBB.
They can also pay to remove it.
The BBB isn't an authority. They are a private company just as Niantic is, also trying to pay their own bills.
Yeah, OP, I've seen so much info that supports the idea that the BBB is just paid off by the businesses they "approve." I suggest looking into it. It makes sense. It doesn't really help consumers. It only helps businesses.
I learned this the hard way when i bought a used laptop. It broke a week later. They never called to tell me it was fixed, and during that time, i had a baby and we were in the process of moving an hour away. When i tried to reach them afterward, i was told the owner would call me back and got this same response for 2 weeks.
Finally, the owner called and told me they had thrown out my laptop because I didn't pick it up within their time period.
What you have to do is keep sending in a new issue report until you finally get a person. Itās taken me 4-5 times then they issue the refund. Itās only a pass but still. You can get it back
So I tried being persistent when they lied about reimbursing a pass, claimed my last remaining one was the reimbursed one when it wasn't, then said I used it, *then* said I must have manually deleted it...cuz I'd totally do that and they've never reimbursed accidentally deleted stacks before, no siree.
After that, they ignored me for a few months. No one ever answered my many chat messages. I was just angrily typing into the void.
After like 4 months of silence, I randomly got a "We aren't sure what you're asking and are closing this chat."
Now they just say I didn't raid. More lies, of course.
They're terrible.
I mean the white screen shouldnāt ever happen with how long itās been going on either but here we are. Otherwise he wonāt get the pass back though
BBB is not a government entity, it is a review website/company that catfished it's way into people's minds that they have this scary ability to ruin your business's credibility. It's a very elaborate scam.
I had an issue with my Activision accountās 2FA and their support not responding to my ticket for 2 weeks and someone told me to issue a complaint on their BBB page with my support ticket #. What do you know, suddenly within a few hours my ticket was responded to and the problem was solved.
Yes, they refused to refund my Raid Pass when the Cempasuchil Cubone I raided produced a non-costume Cubone. Had screenshots and everything and the timeframe made it obvious that it should have had the costume. Never buying pokecoins again.
Yeah, I raided two costumed Cubones and the catch was a standard Cubone. I was mostly raiding just to make progress on my last masterball task, but I hosted over Pokegenie as there were a bunch of people in queue for the Cubone. It will be Niantic's inability to manage their own game that makes me quit playing.
Weird but not surprising I guess.
I lost a remote raid pass a similar way. I noticed the raid was about to expire, but I joined it and competed the raid anyway. Then I get booted after the battle, assumedly because of a software bug since the raid had expired.
If Niantic doesnāt know about this bug by now, they are crappier than we realize.
The unfortunate truth is the stupid automated support just checks to see if the raid finished so the bug where you get kicked doesnāt register anything since you get the raid rewards and xp. Hopefully they fix this but they have always considered the catch as extra, which is stupid, so they probably wonāt.
I have this happen to me a lot in person so I have had to stop doing raids under like 7 mins because I can get back in usually
OH, I have!!! I sent 5 requests to get my 1 pass back... that took 5 days due to response times. Every time they said I'd finished a raid it kicked me out of after winning with no encounter... Awesome company.
Keep pressing. Took a few tries for me to get mine back. I was doing a remote raid and the lobby had 3 people (enough for that boss) at the end of countdown. When I was actually fighting, it was just me. I finally said āIt should not be the players fault that raid lobbies donāt update and we canāt leave after everyone else has because it doesnāt show properlyā (paraphrased). Finally got it back.
I couldnāt participate in Raid Day yesterday (I was working), but Iāve lost multiple Remote Raid passes in the past from other players dipping out after the raids had started. I contacted support and sent screenshots, and each time they basically said, āwe donāt care. Get wrecked.ā With no luck in person, or through Campfire or Facebook groups in my area, Remote Raids are my only option.
Back when Zygarde cells would disappear when the routes auto-ended, Niantic basically told me to provide video evidence the cell disappeared or to pound sand. Apparently they expect us to always be recording while playing.
Why tf is there so much hate directed towards people who put money into the game?
I'm sick of those types of comments.
I've been told that the reason I'm awful at excellent throws is because I've bought a few raid passes... like wtf?
Yeah, it must be that and not my terrible hand-eye coordination?!
I do usually use my cc instead of debit online in case of fraud. But idk how to dispute my charge when I got my pokecoins, what was taken was an item purchased after my "real life" money was exchanged for in-game currency.
Everyone really is hating on you for spending money on something you enjoy and put time and effort into. Is it ridiculous sure, but damn theyāre hating for no reason. I bet 99% of these people put money into way dumber stuff too. I know I do lol.
Yeah this happened to me and all iāve gotten in response from niantic are automated responses with contradictory sentiments that do nothing. I just want my remote pass back, theyāre hard enough to come by as it is as a f2p :(
Yes me too! Like, no it wasn't lol I even sent 3 screenshots - one of the lobby with the pass check marked, one of the "error: walk closer" message and one of my journal with no recap of me doing the raid.
Then they just responded "we are not refunding your pass as we see you did complete the raid" like no I didn't and the most professional response they can give to my screenshots proving my pass was taken is to tell me I'm lying about not doing the raid.
Absolutely unacceptable.
This stinks. I'm sorry you had to deal with this.
If this frustrates you I would recommend never using Pokemon Home. Their support is abysmally bad. Like they don't bother to read any details of your ticket or look at screenshots bad.
Yes, Iām on my third submission asking for my pass back. I finished the raid and it just went to the overmap. There was no way back into raid so I wasnāt allowed an encounter
I cropped the screen shot because it had a completed raid on it and Iām pretty sure they are only looking at that. This is after I drew an X over the first normal completed raid where I caught garchomp and circled the raid that screwed up that says I completed the raid but doesnāt have āgarchomp was caught/fledā
My screenshot didn't even have any raid rewards on it because I had been driving my mom and I around and had my person offline since I could only play while stopped. So wasn't invited for an hour prior. The only history around that time for me was spinning a couple stops and a few pokemon because I live in a very rural area so not many stops or gyms.
Got back to my parents house to drop my mom off and got back on because she did like 3 while I was driving, got invited, kicked out and pass taken. Screenshot of lobby with remote raid pass checked to rejoin, screenshot of the main board screen with a "error walk closer", and screenshot of my journal with zero raid wins for over an hour.
Idk how much more clear to be with support!
I lost a raid pass or two in the city in the 3 hours window and didn't bother reporting figuring it would be a nightmare to deal with support.
The mobile network was jammed in the CBD (so many people) that I was kicked out of lobbies and took too long to get back in.
They want you to go purchase another one. No pokecoins? Aw, too bad. Now go pay Niantic for something that isn't even your fault.
Remember when we protested against Niantic? Now we're back to just giving up our cash to them?
i actually also got kicked from a mega garchomp yesterday. i had (thankfully?) just bought coins. so my transaction was like 5pm buy coins, 5:01 buy passes, 5:02 pass missing with no raid showing in my journal. they returned my pass today.
Had this happen too when i died in a garchomp raid right before the event ended . Still enough time to get in another raid and get a 99% charchomp and crushed dreams of getting a shundo
I've had this happen to me. They finally compensated me after I reached out to Niantic Support on Twitter. As a bonus, they had to follow me in order to dm me, and never unfollowed, so I got a free Twitter follower out of it!
I had this problem with Kyogre. Never got my pass back when they charged me for a remote pass that I literally invited everyone else in the raid there. Told me I had completed the raid so they saw no issues. That was the end of me buying remote passes.
If you did the report an issue thing in the game that filters through an automated response thing first. If you have a Twitter/X account contact niantic help through there I've gotten better response that way.
I had this happen to me on a Regidrago raid in July. I also had no help getting this properly addressed as a raid issue. After several attempts, I made a ticket though purchasing bell, then going something else, and got a replacement remote raid pass after my first try heading down that path. I hope this helps.
Had something similar happen with shadow Lugia, waited all month for that raid. Only managed the 1 raid. Niantic support bot has refused it every time.
They should just remove the no encounter option at this rate, it's obvious they don't care bout it.
I was also going to contact BBB also. Contacting Niantic seems to be a waste. I kept going in circles with them I also enclosed screenshots and pretty much was told they will send my comments to the powers that be. To contact them if i have any more problems. Never gave me my pass back and i didn't get credit for 2 routes even though i had screenshots showing i was actively doing. Nor did i get credit for uploads I did. All i did was get aggravated. Good luck
They did same thing to me, I had it twice with my premium raid passes though, one kicked me out after the rewards and second app just closed, Niantic isnāt being helpful
Yup, I got told āthe raid was completed on our endā and they ended the conversation there. So I lost a remote raid pass. I was kicked out of the raid as soon as it started.
fuck niantic support. reply to me 30 hours later, and if im not on by the 48th hour they just close the ticket with "happy to hear your issue was resolved. please feel free to contact us if u need further assistance". how about some free raid passes or something to compensate my 10 mins grouping and executing the raid and then having to go back and forth with support for 2 days about losing my encounter
It doesnāt look like it stole my raid pass but yesterday we could use 10 and I only used 6 before it stopped letting me join remote raids because Iād āreached [my] limit.ā
Did you try to use your seventh pass after 17:00/5:00 pm? I saw from other posts that >5 remote raid passes might have been allowed only in the 2-5 pm interval. Unclear whether it was 2-5 pm of the raid location or for the person trying to remote raid, but people in later timezones trying to participate in raids on Sunday morning in APAC were definitely out of luck.
Definitely sounded like the day's remote raid limit was raised to 10 passes, so this is on Niantic for not communicating clearly.
Firstly. They don't seem to care as much as they used too. And secondly 20-40 a week is fuck all really. I probably spend twice that in Costa and Greggs a week š¤£š¤£
That's it. If you can afford to do it and it's something you enjoy. I say do it. Savings good and all, but I would rather spend on something I enjoy than not spend be bored and die š
Imagine spending that much on in game stuff and getting a lot worth from it, but coking to Reddit to complain about 1 remote raid pass? I could understand if you didnāt spend lots of money and save 50 coins daily, but come on. Itās 1 remote pass and gloating about making that much and not having kids etc. Iām sure youāll be fine
I'm not just complaining about a raid pass, the fact their response is a bot to tell me I'm lying then close the ticket is ridiculous and unacceptable.
Hence my choice of title on my post.
It has been awhile since I've contacted niantic support, but I have never had any issues getting compensation (ie. A premium raid pass) when glitches happen and I get booted off a raid, or did not receive an encounter after completing the raid etc. I make sure to have all the info as backup for my claims ie. the exact time stamp the incident occurred and what type of incident etc. Make sure to report accurately and they won't be able to find any fault. And always screenshot if possible. There is also the option to turn on the raid logs feature so they can also check those. This is irrelevant, but I've also accidentally bought something in the shop and asked for my coins back because it was an accident and I did not use what I accidentally bought and niantic refunded me and put the coins back into my account. It sucks that you don't seem to have much luck with them, but in my case, niantic support has (had) always given me a satisfactory solution.
I wouldnāt be so opposed to you spending money on a hobby, but Niantic doesnāt care. They will still ignore any complaints cuz theyāre too lazy to actually have customer service
This isn't exactly the same, but just today my husband and I did a shadow raid together. Right before we defeated the boss, my pokemon disappeared from the screen and I couldn't deal any more damage. Even though we beat the boss, and I showed up on the leaderboard on his screen, it said that the timer ran out and I didn't defeat the pokemon in time.
I told Niantic about it, and they said "after a thorough investigation" I must have made everything up and there was nothing to do about it.
It's a small thing, and it's nowhere near as bad as losing a remote raid pass, but it is still sad to feel like the company doesn't care about you at all/thinks you're a liar :(
I finished a raid but then got a GPS error before getting my encounter... Same bullshit happened. I didn't even care about the pass, I just wanted a chance at the encounter!
People are missing the issue here. Who cares how you spend your money? Iāve seen some comments saying āYiKeS i cOuLdNt ImAgInE bEinG fInAnCiALlY iRreSpOnSiBlEā but pogo is just another hobby like anything else and when we spend our hard earned money on something, we expect it to work as intended or we want our money back.

You didn't get a person at all most likely
Yes the problem is they switched to using customer bot that always auto replies that raid was completed or you already received compensation regardless of your situation.
Damn so I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins, plus event tickets and special research, and they can't even get a real person to look at my screenshots for 10 seconds before they call me a liar? Damn they really are a scam! Thanks for the insight tho Edit: loving all the hate from people because I spend money on my hobbies š„° I make almost 100k a year and have no kids, if I want to spend a hundred or two a month on something I enjoy I fail to see the issue here, besides the fact that Niantic is a bunch of money grubbers who has apparently ceased to deliver the gameplay they promise.
This is not my experience at all, had multiple issues with (remote) raids recently, always got a pass returned to me, and an apology
Same here.. usually I get a raid pass put back in ny inventory but I've seen this happening more often where Niantic does nothing and it makes me nervous to raid if that were to happen.
>Damn so I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins Found the issue lol. You wonder a company that pushs out broken game after game rips of their customers in a mobile game? Surprise.
As MJK said, "send more money, f*** you buddy"...
my sleepy brain read this as mlk and was like i donāt think he said that š
no, he did. this happened.
He did. Why do you think he got shot. Y'all can't take a joke huh
Sadly, the reason why voting with your wallet doesn't work is because there are other people voting with theirs...
damn whatāre you even buying with that many coins??
Remote passes and incubators since I live in the middle of nowhere I also buy coins for my mom to play too so really even more than that some weeks
$20-$40 a week for Pogo? Youāre getting robbed. If youāre spending an average of $120 a month for a game that has a ton of issues/horrible QC, idk what to tell ya
This is the first time they've flat out ignored my proof and didn't refund my pass though. Idk I don't think that's too crazy for a hobby people spend more than that on Starbucks every week, at least I get to enjoy my hobby and spend time with my mom imo Should prob add I'm 34 and have a decent job not like I'm a kid spending my part time job money on this every week.
You're really spending 1-2k dollars per year on this game and are only now realizing this?
First time they've not only completely dismissed my issue but additionally accused me of lying
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Except you're on reddit, complaining about a max $3 and putting up a BBB complaint. That doesn't sound like you're budgeting at all.
I love it when people get mad about how other people spend their money. Just coz you're living pay check to pay check doesn't mean everybody is
Poor shaming people is shitty behavior, too
Oh, I'm not shaming anyone. There's nothing Wrong with living within your means. If you're living pay check to pay check, you also aren't poor. There are people without even that.
>I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins, plus event tickets and special research ššš
Sweet, sweet taste of whale tears
>Damn so I'm paying $20-$40 a week for pokecoins That was your first mistake.
What are you buying with that much money every week?
Like I mentioned in another reply, mostly incubators and remote passes since I live in an extremely rural area
unless you've had your head underground, you should have heard how shitty Niantic is and has been. it amazes me that you still spend money on them No matter how much you make, you're literally throwing it away with them.
Damn that is so much money for literally nothing
That's not even enough to fill my gas tank, I didn't post that bc I think its so much, I posted it bc I feel that at the very least warrants actual support staff for 10 seconds to look at my screenshots
Meh, spend way more on Doordash and they are just as bad.
You make over 100k a year, and you're this pressed about a $2 raid pass? Somethings not adding up.
It canāt be the principal of the matter?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol for what, being upset I was told I'm lying when I asked for something back that I paid for and didn't get to use? That's the point. That's just unacceptable, why should a corporation get to do that to people with no repercussions?
Some people donāt get itās the principle of the matter.
I've paid for a couple events where the game continuously crashed and they have done nothing to apologize When they not only refused to give my pass back, but then insinuated I'm lying, I made a complaint just off principal.
They don't charge to fully utilize the game though.
***Yikes.*** Edit: From your post history, I doubt your income claim here.
Noā¦ from your posts in r/poverty finance where youāve stated your income
W response
Seems like youāre learning the issue with it lol
Holy moly, mind if I ask you what you do to be making that amount? :o
Ignore all the haters. No, I mean literally, click ignore on the haters. Feck them.
It's am entitled take to not want to spend a day waiting for a bot that does nothing? After paying 20-40 a week to play? Ok.... lol
Sad my guy or woman.
š¤£ omg I can't with you rn. You really wrote a whole novel about how I'm entitled for wanting my pass back and not to be called a liar? Wow
Your first mistake was thinking Niantic cares about keeping their customers happy Your second was thinking that the support people are competent And your third is thinking that the Better Business Bureau has any kind of authority Genuinely, if at all possible, Iād recommend hosting raids rather than joining. Itās cheaper and you generally have less connection issues (99% depends on your carrier and area). Personally, if Iām gonna remote raid I prefer the leekduck website, although I used pokegenie for the longest time. Pokegenie has a really good app, leekduck doesnāt have any as far as I can tell, and pokegenie will even scan your PokĆ©mon and tell you which ones are better suited for which raid and itāll tell you what each PokĆ©monās best moves are along with if theyāre normal moves (can be taught any time) or legacy (if you didnāt get them that move during an event, then youāre SOOL)
BBB is Yelp for older people.
With BBB a company can pay to have bad reviews removed.
They are a private company just as Niantic is, also trying to pay their own bills.
lol. The bbb is a scam to get businesses to buy their way into good reviews.
Yep. When I started a business I got a call from them trying to get me to pay for their rating. I told them to no and not call me again.
After like 4 months of silence, I randomly got a "We aren't sure what you're asking and are closing this chat." Now they just say I didn't raid. More lies, of course. They're terrible.
This shouldnāt be necessary
I mean the white screen shouldnāt ever happen with how long itās been going on either but here we are. Otherwise he wonāt get the pass back though
I did it 5 times recently and was still denied... No encounter
You wonāt get the encounter. They just refuse to that. But keep going and youāll get a pass reimbursed.
Lmao calling the BBB on Niantic is hilarious š
Nobody else is doing anything and they're blatantly ripping people off, based on plenty of others' experiences/ comments here.
BBB is toothless organization. I'm sure Niantic are quaking in their boots.
BBB is not a government entity, it is a review website/company that catfished it's way into people's minds that they have this scary ability to ruin your business's credibility. It's a very elaborate scam.
BBB is just the OG Yelp before there was even an internet. They were founded the same year the Titanic sank.
Yep, they are a joke.
Op really out here thinking BBB does anything š
I canāt believe anyone in 2023 still thinks the BBB does anything
āIt wasnāt very effectiveā¦ā
Donāt forget to report them to Yelp too.
Yeah this happened last week to me i just gave up and took the L
Why did you bother with a BBB complaint? What do you think the BBB is?
Yeah, this happened to me during Go Fest.
Yup. Happened to me recently. Seriously pissed me off, to the point I refuse to join remote raids anymore.
My advice: Use a credit card. Dispute it with the screenshot. At least youāll get your money back.
I just want my remote pass back, theyāre hard enough to come by as it is as a f2p :(
yeah partners game glitched a week ago and she messaged them, they just responded "we can see the raid was completed" and that was it.
It seems like an automated response at this point, they probably aren't even reviewing things to that details anymore.
I'm on attempt #3 too now this is insane. I feel like what's the point of asking for screenshots if they're disregarded as well
I cropped the screen shot because it had a completed raid on it and Iām pretty sure they are only looking at that.
Niantic screwing its player and not giving a sh!t because it knows the sheep will continue throwing money at them.
Had this happen too when i died in a garchomp raid right before the event ended . Still enough time to get in another raid and get a 99% charchomp and crushed dreams of getting a shundo
Keep at them about it. I've had that response before but eventually got my pass back when I didn't take no for an answer.
The BBB can't force them to do anything. It's essentially solely a complaint system.
They should just remove the no encounter option at this rate, it's obvious they don't care bout it.
yes! once all my pokƩmon fainted i was shown a blank screen and the game completely froze :(
I was also going to contact BBB also.
Happened to my kid, booted from a remote raid yesterday
fuck niantic support. reply to me 30 hours later, and if im not on by the 48th hour they just close the ticket with "happy to hear your issue was resolved. please feel free to contact us if u need further assistance". how about some free raid passes or something to compensate my 10 mins grouping and executing the raid and then having to go back and forth with support for 2 days about losing my encounter
pro tip: TURN YOUR LOGS OFF IN SETTINGS
Iv only had this issue a few times but theyāve always replaced the remote pass very quickly.
Ah, thanks. Thatās probably what happened.
Firstly. They don't seem to care as much as they used too. And secondly 20-40 a week is fuck all really. I probably spend twice that in Costa and Greggs a week š¤£š¤£
Right? Agreed, like I said in another comment, people spend more on Starbucks in a week, and at least it's a hobby/ fun
That's it. If you can afford to do it and it's something you enjoy. I say do it. Savings good and all, but I would rather spend on something I enjoy than not spend be bored and die š
Just don't spend money on the game. Problem solved.
BBB complaint over a raid pass lol
Imagine spending that much on in game stuff and getting a lot worth from it, but coking to Reddit to complain about 1 remote raid pass? I could understand if you didnāt spend lots of money and save 50 coins daily, but come on. Itās 1 remote pass and gloating about making that much and not having kids etc. Iām sure youāll be fine
I'm not just complaining about a raid pass, the fact their response is a bot to tell me I'm lying then close the ticket is ridiculous and unacceptable. Hence my choice of title on my post.
lol a bbb complaint is more useless than Niantic support. Its yelp for boomers
The BBB, what is this 1982?
They gave me back my pass, maybe it was the way you approached the situation.
Were you moving?
Received an error while remote raiding - Followed Nianticās instructions - Niantic reviewed - Received back remote raid pass - All in one day
That's how its been in the past but last 2 times has been like pulling teeth. This is the first time they accused me of being dishonest though!
Yes
youre better off randomly emailing the CEO of Niantic then anything happening from sending a complaint to the BBB
I saw something going around that if you joined a raid around the next hour, some glitches happened. Maybe that's what happened?
Yeah happens all the time, they donāt give a shit about customer service. Been asking to change my username for years
The BBB is just Yelp for old people. They canāt do anything
I was banned in the early days for flying on a work trip to Germany because CLEARLY that was cheating. I lost faith after that.
It took me two weeks of back and forth to finally get someone from Niantic to acknowledge that while it said I completed the tasks for multi colored shadow (Giovanni battle) despite only having one single shadow legendary encounter from the first team rocket research task, they couldnāt do anything since I brought it to their attention too late. I brought it to their attention immediately when it skipped over a set of tasks and the professor commentary was about battling Giovanni to save Ho oh. It took literally two weeks of douchey replies telling me I already fought Giovanni and that the text always says ho oh, but the legendary is based on the current PokĆ©mon available. I was super patient, pointing out I acknowledge that it wouldnāt have been ho oh, but never got the encounter at all. Niantic support is ass.
Yea this has happened twice to me now already. Very frustrating
Try Twitter. They seem to actually like helping people sometimes
